Best RV Parks & Resorts near Wellsville, UT

Several RV parks surround Wellsville, Utah, providing convenient options for motorhome travelers. Aspen Grove RV Park in Tremonton offers year-round full hookup sites with 50-amp service on level concrete pads that accommodate big rigs. Just 20 miles east in Logan, Traveland RV Park maintains 45 sites with full hookups including 30/50-amp electrical connections. Love's RV Stop in Brigham City features 43 pull-through sites with water, electric, and sewer connections, making it ideal for overnight stays. Golden Spike RV Park, also in Brigham City, provides 38 sites with full hookups though it's not recommended for larger rigs. "Level new concrete pads. Nice layout. Almost all pull through. Great little store. View of the mountains," noted one Aspen Grove visitor, highlighting the spacious sites that have become increasingly important for today's larger motorhomes.

Seasonal considerations affect RV camping availability throughout the region. While Aspen Grove and Traveland operate year-round, other parks have limited seasonal operations. Most RV parks in the area are pet-friendly with designated dog areas; Aspen Grove features a dedicated dog park. Cell service is generally strong at parks near Interstate 15, with many offering reliable WiFi connections. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Golden Spike receives mixed reviews for long-term stays. Reservation policies vary by season, with summer months requiring advance booking at popular locations. Interstate noise can be noticeable at parks closest to I-15, particularly at Love's RV Stop. For RVers needing propane service, Aspen Grove provides on-site LPG service, a convenience for travelers passing through northern Utah.

    Great park and friendly staff

When planning our visit, we were confused by something on the website, so I called to get clarification. The staff member that I spoke with was very friendly and answered all my questions. When we arrived, the staff member at the park was very friendly and accommodating. The site we had reserved had a next-door neighbor, but there were several empty sires without direct neighbors and she happily changed our site so we had more breathing room. This park has a big open field designated as the dog park and the RV park as a whole is very pet friendly. We were in site 17, which was a 50 amp site so we had to use an adapter for our 30 amp trailer. Hookups were conveniently located and included water, electric, and sewer. The site was a super level gravel pull through although they also had some back in spots and tent friendly spots. This park is right off the interstate but we really didn't notice the road noise. The bathroom and shower was clean and well kept. The town as a whole is small but cute and has a great city park. We didnt eat at the diner in town but were told by family that its a great place to eat. We were there for two nights and will definitely stop there again when we're in the area.

    Cute little spot

Great amenities, dog park, showers, laundry. Stayed here long term a couple times and it’s always a great stay! Close to the park, splash pad, and track. Hosts are pleasant. A little close together but good for being on base.

    Golden Spike RV Park

Great RV Spot Close to the Interstate

This an wonderful medium sized RV campground that is totally locally owned so you know your stay will go towards benefiting local families!  That and given its proximity to the Interstate make it the closest and easiest RV campground to get to near Brigham City/Perry.  It is a perfect stopping point if you're looking at having all the comforts of home before heading into the mountains or into the towns nearby.  Amenities include a full laundry and bathroom in addition to cable TV and Wi-Fi.  They owners are on the property year round and is a very safe place to stay.  There are 38 sites that have 30 and 50 amp hookup options in addition to water.  Definitely visit this RV campground over the nearby KOA as it supports local businesses!!!

If you want to spend time out in nature there is the nearby Bird Refuge, and Great Salt Lake.  To the north and northwest of here there lies the amazing Devils Playground and the namesake of the campground which is the Golden Spike National Historic Site in which the rail lines from the east and west met.  To the east there are numerous canyons to choose from in case the days are too sweltering hot to stay in the valleys

    On the beach!

This campground seems like it is one of the closer campgrounds to the water. It's pet-friendly, has full hookups, picnic tables, and wifi. The nice thing about this campground is it does have a beach as well as water/lake access. Not as many amenities as the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

The bathhouse was very clean. Did seem less busy than the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

    Devils Creek RV Park

    Close quarters but friendly faces

This is an older campground, and space near reservoirs is a hot commodity. The RV park host was very friendly and accommodating. Very clean campground with a nice boat dock and plenty of spaces to get down near the reservoir and fish.

Warning - Some of the spaces felt like extremely close quarters especially with slide outs. The picture below shows one of the older full utility locations. Some units may not have much room to slide out without contacting the utility boxes. Some units offer great shade and an awning next to a shared fire pit, shared picnic table. Some units have a really nice shared grass area between trailers. Also several people here are seasonal campers with monthly rates. This can make finding a space a little more challenging. Call ahead and make sure to get reservations so you can get a spot.

Lot size seems inconsistent between spaces as some feel very cramped and some of the high number units without utilities had larger spaces between them, almost appearing as an extra space between two units people were using for pet/kid play areas.

Dogs are to be kept on leashes, but people should consider short leashes/tie lines as it is easy for pets to cross into adjacent units depending upon where they are staked. Make sure to plan ahead for power adapters. Only one 30amp service so if your planning to run AC, plan to be the first in or coordinate with your neighbor.

Birch Campground — Bear Lake State Park

    Not What We Were Expecting

The address we put into our GPS took us to the Marina so we drove further along the lake to Rendezvous Beach area where we checked in at the gate house with no problems. We then proceeded to the Birch campground(CG) FHU site 55, which was a pull through. The CG map shows there are 4 CGs(Willow, Birch, Cottonwood,& Big Creek). Big Creek is the oldest with a lot more shade trees than the other listed CGs. The CGs run in sequence along the south end of the lake. The sites are well spaced with a nice little covered patio with the picnic table. The beach is about 100 yards away and we had a sliver of lake view. We were surprised that dogs are not allowed on the park beaches. There was a fire ban that included charcoal grills(propane okay). We had great water pressure, used 15’ sewer hose, and received about 30 OTA channels. We had a clear shot to the southern sky, but didn’t need/use our satellite. We got 4 bars on Verizon. We where not sure what to expect when we decided to come to Bear Lake SP but we sure were not expecting it to be dog restrictive. Dogs are not allowed by the lake/beach or in day use areas so we were limited to walking them around the campground. We also were not expecting a tourist trap, sunning beach, and crowded with families during the week(Mon- Thur) late in August. There were plenty of CG workers but they did not keep up with the trash laying about. Our fire pit, which we couldn’t use, had trash in it to include a pair of kids underwear. We did enjoy going to Montpelier and visiting the Oregon/California Trail Center and Butch Cassidy Museum. One and done for us.

    Porcupine Campground

    Green and Beautiful

Such a beautiful area for a campground. Our visit was in June and everything was green green green! So much vegetation along the crystal clear creek. There are signs of active beavers with many dams and lodges.

We stayed in the "group" site which can fit two tailers and the three vehicles. We also used the adjacent site 3 for a third trailer. The group site has two picnic tables on a concrete pad and a fire pit with built in benches. The sites are spread nicely especially on the upper loop with reservable sites. It would be difficult to fit large fifth wheel trailers.

One complaint is that the campground website is lacking information and does not match the information at the campsite. There are many sites not on the map that are first come first serve. The prices also don't match what is advertised on the website (by a couple dollars)

Just up the road is Minnetonka cave where you can take a guided 90 minute tour. Worth the visit.

Guide to Wellsville

The Wellsville area sits at approximately 4,500 feet elevation in northern Utah's Cache Valley, creating seasonal temperature variations that affect camping conditions throughout the year. RV camping near Wellsville, Utah offers access to both mountain and valley settings with several campgrounds situated within a 25-mile radius. Summer temperatures typically range from 50-90°F while winter brings freezing conditions that limit options.

What to Do

Hiking and biking trails: At Riverside RV Resort, located 30 minutes south of Wellsville, campers can access a walking trail along the Weber River. "River and walking trail just steps away from all sites. Would be nice if the dog park was finished," notes one visitor. The trail offers mountain views and connects to longer routes.

Hot springs exploration: Belmont Hot Springs RV Park offers natural thermal pools about 25 miles north of Wellsville. "We went in the winter and we were able to jump into the hot springs and my family loved. We would be going every winter as it isn't too far from Salt Lake City," reports one camper. The springs maintain year-round temperatures around 100°F.

Wildlife observation: Blue Water Beach Resort provides lakeside camping with water wildlife viewing opportunities. "Lake is beautiful, facilities clean. Will come back," notes a visitor. Morning hours typically offer the best wildlife viewing conditions before boat traffic increases.

What Campers Like

Private outdoor spaces: At Aspen Grove RV Park, guests appreciate the spacious site design. "The spots were ENORMOUS! And spaced very liberally," writes one reviewer. These larger sites provide separation between camping units with concrete pads measuring approximately 70 feet in length.

Clean facilities: Traveland RV Park maintains well-kept grounds that campers consistently mention. "Great little Rv park just off the highway and tucked in behind a hotel. You're far enough off the road you don't notice the highway noise," says one camper. The park features grassy areas between sites for relaxation.

Mountain views: Campers highlight the scenic landscapes surrounding many parks. "Great Mountain View. This place is very nice for a Loves," notes a visitor to Love's RV Stop in Brigham City. The Wellsville Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop visible from multiple camping locations in the region.

What You Should Know

Seasonal closures: While Aspen Grove and Traveland operate year-round, many campgrounds have limited winter operations. Specific closure dates vary by location, with most full services available from April through October.

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects several campgrounds. "The interstate is 20 yards from the first row of sites. It was constant traffic noise 24/7," reports one Riverside RV Resort visitor. Campgrounds closer to I-15 and I-84 experience more road noise than those in canyon locations.

Limited shade options: Newer RV parks typically lack mature trees. "Pavement, cement and no shade. No fire pits," notes one Aspen Grove visitor. Summer temperatures can reach 90°F, making afternoon heat management important when selecting sites at recently developed facilities.

Tips for Camping with Families

Dog-friendly areas: Most RV parks welcome pets but have varying policies. "Private RV secured area with Rv laundry and shower facilities. Private fenced in dog parks in RV area separate from gas station," reports a visitor to Love's RV Stop. Designated pet areas range from simple relief zones to fully fenced running spaces.

Recreational facilities: Some campgrounds offer additional amenities for children. "The amenities are incredible and we had a blast enjoying the pool and doggy areas," notes a Valley View RV Resort visitor. Swimming pools typically operate from late May through early September, weather permitting.

Activity planning: Proximity to attractions varies significantly. "We stayed during the Halloween Fright weekend and from Wednesday to Friday at around 2pm, we were about the only ones there. Then the place exploded with campers," reports a Lagoon RV Park visitor, highlighting how crowds change based on local events.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: For thermal comfort, consider site orientation. "There are zero shade trees and the majority of the site face south so there is no shade on the camp side of your camper in the afternoon or evening," notes a Riverside RV Resort visitor. Request north-facing sites when possible during summer stays.

Advance reservations: Cub River Lodge & RV Park and similar popular destinations require planning. "The drive up to the lodge and rv park is amazing. Great hosts and a wonderful spot," mentions one reviewer. Weekend reservations should be made 1-3 months in advance during peak summer season.

Utility considerations: RV parks offer varying electrical capacities. "Great place to overnight while passing through northern Utah. Huge full hookup sites with concrete pads," notes an Aspen Grove visitor. Most parks near Wellsville now offer 50-amp service to accommodate larger motorhomes with multiple air conditioning units.
