Beautiful forest camping

We found a spot next to a stream on forest road 838. Very few campers in the area, all quiet and respectful. Road was rough, no problem for our Subaru Forester. Lots of hiking available in the area.

Nice campground close to visitor center

Closest to the visitor center and the main paved road. This cg is older than canyon rim cg and paved road is broken up potholes. Sites are smaller and more for tent and truck/van campers, but small TTs could find a spot or two maybe. Only 8 sites total and only #1;4-5 are FF

Rocky road camp

FS road #13 has large diameter cobble base and makes for a bumpy road. There are much better dispersed sites across the hwy on FS roads #839 and #838 for RVs and TTs. I would not go up this road with a trailer unless you had a turnaround open. This area is best suited to overlander tent and…

New improved BLM CG

Looks like the BLM has recently updated and improved this location. Several vault toilets, campsites have tables, fire rings, tent pads and most important.. overhead awnings for shade as main camp sites are in open area with no shade trees. Note there are no trash cans or dumpsters and there is no…

Great gem of a campground

Was surprised how nice and serene this cg is. 82+ sites and two cg hosts but does not have that constant drive thru of desperate campers. $18/$9 nite. Flush toilets, water spigots at restrooms, trash dumpsters. No elect or sewer hookups. Large cottonwood trees for shade.

Nice for the rafting groups

Group camps only, rafting boat ramp takeout is close by, seems this cg is best for the boater types before and after a float on the Green River. Reservations needed. Camp host onsite. $40.00 per site, per night when water is available (early April to mid or late October)Reduced fee ($6.00 per…

Couldn't find it.

Map directions took us to private property. Written directions in past review were too vague.

Vernal, UT

Lots of activities for families (pool, play area), small dog area, clean restrooms, staff was very friendly. We had some vehicle troubles and the guy lent us a few tools we didn’t have and checked on us to see how it was going. Lots of things to do in the area and is close to Dinosaur NM. Also has…

Lovely - especially on the River

We spent a glorious 2 nights at one of the Western-most camping spots right with a private path to the river & a nice little swimming hole area. Our dog was in heaven! We enjoyed time on the beach and at the site. Be aware there are lots of ants around in the summer though! GREAT hikes from…

Don’t run from this dinosaur!

We just had spent a week in Colorado, we chose this camp ground as a stop over on the way home. When we got here the staff was amazing! The place was clean and the amenities were awesome, so awesome we ended up staying here longer than one night so we could enjoy a movie in the park, explore the…

Decent BLM Camping Near Vernal

We stayed here during the summer of 2020 due to its proximity to Vernal. It’s a decent enough campground, it’s very well maintained by BLM rangers which is probably the best part about it. Communal picnic tables at a couple of sites and clean pit toilets.

Due to its proximity to Pelican Lake, the…

Just off the highway, amazing dispersed camping!

This was one of my favorite finds during my trip through Utah earlier this summer. We were checking out Flaming Gorge and, predictably, all the campgrounds were booked full. I prefer cool dispersed camping anyway, so I decided to venture off some forest roads to see what I could see. And man, that…

SEPTEMBER 2020 This campsite is in the first few miles of Dinosaur National Monument along the Green River. It has 4 campsites but each campsite has three turnout parking areas that accommodate about 9-10 cars. The sites are $40 each and can be reserved online. I estimated each group site was about…
