This campground has been recently remodeled with native rock and restored to a primitive state, and does not include water. The off season is from late November to early May, depending on conditions. The campground is at approximately 7500 foot elevation, with 21 campsites, and a maximum RV length of 30 feet. Attractions include fishing in the Whiterocks River, and scenic views of Whiterocks Canyon dramatic cliff formations. The surrounding area is open to restricted OHV use, only on designated Forest Service trails. Camping in undeveloped areas (outside of designated campgrounds) is permitted. Please stay on existing roadways when accessing these undeveloped areas, and follow the practices in "Caring for the Forest" when camping in undeveloped areas. Camping in undeveloped areas must occurr within 150 feet of a designated route in Utah and within 300 feet of a designated route in Wyoming, at least 1/4 mile away from any administrative site, (boat ramps, guard stations, campgrounds, or visitor centers).
Rainbow Park Campground is 28 miles (45 km) from the Quarry Visitor Center in the Utah portion of Dinosaur National Monument. It is located on a rugged dirt road that is impassable when wet. The campground sits beside the Green River near the Rainbow Park Boat Ramp at the head of Split Mountain Canyon. Rainbow Park Campground is open year-round, but there is no winter maintenance on the unpaved road.

This campground sits beside the Green River near the Rainbow Park Boat Ramp at the head of Split Mountain Canyon. It has wonderful views of geologic features such as the Mitten Park Fault.

From the Henry Fork Trailhead (approx. 9400 feet elev.) the trail gains very little elevation during the first 5.5 miles with several lakes to camp by along the way. The first lake reached is Alligator Lake. At just under 3 miles from the trailhead, this beautiful lake is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a nice, easy introduction to the altitude and rigors of backpacking. After passing Alligator Lake the trail continues on the Henry's Fork Trail for another 3 miles. At this point, you'll reach a trail junction known as ElkHorn Crossing.
You can take the trail heading due south. This trail is the most direct route. After 2 miles, it will pass by the most popular lake in the area, Dollar Lake, which has a numbers of excellent established campsites near by.
The Bridge Campground is at over 7600 feet adjacent to the Yellowstone River.

Very nice campground right on the Green River. Services include water faucets and flush toilets. Plenty to do and see nearby. Limited cell service. If you want the best shade, choose the B loop.

Great area. Fun mountain biking trails. Couple of spots with fire rings. Only issue is someone is “camping” in their car right by the day use area, a non-camping area.
GuideOur 2nd time here. First time we had a spectacular view of the comet Neowise. Some sites along river. As with any campground, some sites close together. Campground was pretty empty this time and we could pick site. Water, flush toilets, although bathrooms not well cared for and smelled bad. Loop A seemed more our style, no big rigs. No sign of campground host. Nice hiking trail along river. Peaceful evening with a lightning and thunder show!

The road to get here can be interesting if you’ve never been. I wasn’t expecting a dirt road right next to the river. You don’t need any special vehicle though and as soon as you get to the resort, it is GORGEOUS. They have a couple playgrounds (one is better than the other) and lots of open grass area. The swimming pond was a great place for my kids to play. I randomly tried this resort and it will definitely be one I go to again.

We enjoyed this little RV park. It was quiet and well maintained and just off the main road making it easy to walk about parts of town. Vernal is a nice town with several interesting drives and sites nearby. This RV park is a good launching pad for day trips!

Ok, why would anyone pay $175-$285 a night to stay in old smelly FS bunkhouses that likely have a long history of housing mice, rats and racoons! The areas by the old cabins are not large enough to park many vehicles. Any camper with their own travel trailer or RV is going to camp anywhere on Ashley NF, including by a lake for free or a lot less. Likely why no one was staying there on the Utah pioneer day week. Not even close to a lake, just stuck in a dense shaded tree patch... No views even.

This is a sectioned off section ofr the parking lot at the boat ramp where 4ish rvs can park/camp. While the camping isn't much, it is right at the boat ramp/launch which is super convenient. There are toilets. Very little shade.

Spent one night here. The staff was really friendly and it's a very well maintained camp. The showers and bathrooms were spotless, and the dumpsters were very convenient. I ended up at a full hookup spot that cost $50 a night. I believe there are $30 options available as well. On the pricier side, but worth it. I believe they offer weekly discounts. I'm going to look into this if in the area again.

This FS road is very rocky, rough and steep, and high clearance and good tires are recommended. Free dispersed camping up first 0.1 mile in pine trees. More sites higher but the road access is tough. No RVs, Travel Trailers, or low clearance vans, imho. Only overlander types should consider camping here IMHO. Cell signal is actually good.

Had a great overnight here, wished I had time to spend a few more days. It was early season, water wasn’t on in the campground yet. There were only 2 campers in the campground. Easy access to the visitor center and rim trail.
LegendMcCoy Flats BLM is a mt bike focus recreation area with a network of excellent nonmotorizrd singletrack trails. Dispersed free camping allowed, and currently there are several nice vault toilets scattered along the main access paved road.
This camping area is at the third new vault toilet. Lots of room for large TTs. No trash dumpsters and no water, but cell signal is excellent 5g five bars. Only few miles from main hwy on an old paved pothole filled road. And then only 3 miles back into Vernal and a Walmart on this end of town, so logistics are very good.

This McCoy Flats area is a mt bike non-motorized trails recreation focus area. This site is going to be a future developed BLM CG, but for now it is still free dispersed. There is an older vault toilet up in the junipers and a new vault toilet out by main paved road. New campers to this site should recon first before hauling a TT up these narrow entrenched two-track sandy roads. The right fork is best IMO. Only vault toilets here currently, no dumpsters, no water, but cell signal is good. This site is the first of three new vault toilets along the main road. We stayed here during Memorial Day weekend 2023, it was a complete wash out but totally worth it. We had reserved a site in the middle of the campground and didn't like the lack of privacy or proximity to the bathroom, so we ended up moving to site 25 which was FCFC. That site was perfect. It was large and the river ran right behind it. The bathroom was a bit of walk though.
There was no hosts, so we did have to drive a bit to get firewood, but other than that we really liked the camp ground.
The bathrooms were kind of gross and smelly, but not the worst I've seen.
