    Love's RV Hookup-Fillmore UT 835

    Parking Lot Hook Up Site

This is in the back of the Loves Travel Center. It has 2 super nice dog parks that are fenced in.

It is loud since it’s in a gas station parking lot. Back in site only. All cement pads no sitting areas or places to be outside. Kind of weird cause people can just walk through and use the dog park around your RV.

People park in the RV spots. Not a secured location. Stopped here to sleep on our drive home. Left before dark.

No RV park showers or laundry facilities. Pay extra for the Truck stop showers (did not use)

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Great Weekend Getaway

Awesome first camp of the year. Booked as soon as the state parks opened back up. Place really gave that “middle of nowhere feel”, lake and surrounding area were beautiful. Campsites were simple and bathrooms were nice. Only issue we had was we accidentally booked a site without electric. Could’ve been more clear on website, but also likely a rookie mistake being our first camp in Utah

    Wagons West RV Campground

    Dated but inexpensive

No concrete pads, just gravel with grass and picnic tables between. The landscaping looks a little overgrown. The fencing around the small dog park isn’t secure.

Office and laundry facilities are closed on Sundays. Bathrooms are small but clean with one toilet stall and two shower stalls each.

Full hookups and pull through spaces. Wi-Fi is available but we didn’t test it.

It’s a very quiet place. Fillmore has a Best Western with a golf course, a few gas stations and a Carls Jr.

Esquire Estates Mobile Home and RV Park

Beautiful Park, very scenic and quiet

We love going to this Park in Castle Dale.  Castle Dale has so much to offer us because we have 3 kids and there is so much to do in the area.  Our kids are 9, 7 and 3 1/2 so it makes things very convenient and easy for us to go there and we can rent ATV's locally as well and there is a lot of close by site seeing.

The park has a new owner and they have been consistently improving the parks.  We were there about a month ago and they just opened up the laundry facility and club house, I hear they are going to add a dog park , provide propane sales and even have charging stations for EVs.  Love that they are making these improvements shows that they really care

    Adelaide Campground

    A perfect campground!

This campground is perfectly tucked away in the hills near Kanosh UT. About 15 mins down a back road from the freeway (I-15). It is small but large open areas for kids and/or dogs to run and play. It’s quiet and clean. There are two bathrooms within a short walk from every site. The creek runs near the sites and it’s the perfect sound to lull you to sleep. You can reserve a site ahead of time on the website or walk in and pay at the site as long as there is no reservations. Very simple. There is NO cell service so if you are coming from a long distance be sure to make sure there are availability’s before you drive into the site. If you’re ever taking that route through Utah and need a place to crash I would recommend this to anyone!

    Huntington State Park Campground

    Do not camp here

We camped here in May, 2024,  on our way north, traveling through Utah.  What looked like a nice campground from the Utah State Park website was not a nice campground.  Firstly, the bathrooms were not clean. Second, this seems to be a hang-out for the locals in Huntington, especially the teens.  Third, what few trees there are, are half-dead from not being watered.  There is evidence that a lot have been cut down, probably because they died entirely.  It is a mystery that a state park, with a reservoir, does not water the grass and trees in the campground! Fourth, and most importantly, there is semi-truck traffic on the highway that borders the campground, about every 5-10 minutes, day and night, no exaggeration!  Drive a few hours northeast and camp at Green River State Park in Green River, UT.  That is truly a nice, park-like setting, away from the noise of I-70.

Manti-LaSal National Forest Potters Pond Campground

    Awesome Mountain Getaway!

We were blown away at how tranquil and beautiful the surroundings are at Potters Pond Campground. The abundant trees and brush truly make one feel like they are a million miles away from home. The journey to the campground starts at Millers Flat Road which is a dirt road that is for the most part well groomed/maintained. It is very bumpy, but can be done with most vehicles. We were towing our 24' TT so we were going slow. It is about 8.3 miles of dirt road to the campground from UT 31. The sites are spaced far enough from each other which gives you plenty of room to spread out and relax. The short walk to the pond is easy and you will appreciate the stillness of the water. Most people were either fishing or enjoying the pond on a row boat. Not 100% sure if the pond is okay to swim in as there are no signage and the presence of blue algae is apparent. Potters Pond is part of the USDA national forest and is wide open and plenty of trails to hike/bike. The campground is adjacent to the Appain Trails where one has access to 300+ miles of off-road enjoyment.

The campground does not have any potable water or any services. There are vault toilets spread out throughout the grounds. Also, there are no dumpsters....so what you bring in, you have to take with you. The campground is situated above 9000ft elevation so the days are mild warm and the nights can be cool to cold. If you're looking for solitude and nature, this is the place to go!

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Nice facilities, well-maintained

Spent a night here. Nice facilities, with covered picnic tables at each RV spot, water, and most with electric. Nearby dump station. Some grass and green areas for dogs. Adequate shower facilities. Pretty scenery, and several miles away from the interstate so very quiet. There was an algae bloom that made lake hazardous, so we kept dogs away from the water.

    Rollin' Home RV Park

    Highly Recommended

Friendly staff and able to accomodate short notice stop. Spots were full but they let us park in the parking lot for the night and gave us full access to showers and laundry. Great showers that were clean and nicer than some hotels. Walking path for dogs was a great bonus. You wont be disappointed.

"You are WALKING distance from sport climbs of all grades," explains Sarah W., adding "some canyons have pictographs too!" The canyon attracts climbers of varying skill levels with numerous bolted routes.

What campers like

Shade structures: Painted Rocks Campground provides covered picnic tables that campers particularly appreciate. "We appreciated the shade over each table! The food prep table was a nice touch," mentions Zach R., highlighting these practical amenities that offset the limited natural shade at the site.

Wildlife viewing: The region offers frequent wildlife sightings throughout the campgrounds. "We saw many deer and jackrabbits," reports Art F. from his stay at Eagle View Campground, where dispersed sites provide quieter surroundings for wildlife observation.

Night sky quality: The minimal light pollution creates excellent stargazing conditions at most campgrounds. "The sky was so dark you could see thousands of stars," notes Ashlee W. from her experience at Painted Rocks Campground, where hillside sites provide panoramic night sky views.

What you should know

Seasonal water levels: The reservoir experiences significant fluctuation throughout the year, affecting water recreation. "The lake was very dry down to the creek bed," notes Art F. about his September visit to Eagle View Campground, suggesting spring and early summer offer better conditions for water activities.

Wind conditions: Several campgrounds near Fayette experience consistent winds, particularly those with lake exposure. "Strong 30 mph winds," reports Sean P. from Oasis Campground, while Andrea P. notes that "Yuba beach is always windy and the oasis campground gives some reprieve."

Water quality alerts: Algae blooms occasionally affect the lake during warmer months. "There was an algae bloom that made lake hazardous, so we kept dogs away from the water," cautions Edward R., highlighting the importance of checking current water conditions before planning water activities.

Tips for camping with families

Best family-friendly campsites: Palisade State Park Campground offers excellent amenities for family camping. "Great rec area including a playground. Bathrooms well maintained and pedal boat and other boat rentals," explains Matt L., noting the balance of facilities and activities that appeal to different age groups.

Timing recommendations: Morning activities work best during summer months due to afternoon heat. "The water was very high," reports Makenzie R. about her May visit to Palisade, indicating spring offers more comfortable conditions and higher water levels for family water recreation.

Rental equipment: Several campgrounds offer on-site equipment rentals for water activities. "They rent paddle boats and canoes if wanted. Have a sandy little beach as well," explains LaDell G., highlighting amenities that reduce the need to transport bulky recreation equipment.

Tips from RVers

Site selection for big rigs: Fish Lake National Forest Campsite provides accessible dispersed camping options for varying vehicle sizes. "Super easy access for any car if roads are dry. Lots of places to get back in the junioers a lil and have a nice private place to sleep," notes Kristy B., though larger rigs should stick to established sites at developed campgrounds.

Dog-friendly considerations: Finding campgrounds that accommodate pets requires planning, especially regarding site spacing and access to exercise areas. "Some grass and green areas for dogs," mentions Edward R. from his stay at Oasis Campground, pointing out the limited but functional pet-friendly features.

Hookup availability: Full-service sites with electricity, water and sewer connections vary between campgrounds. "We have a 42 ft motorhome and a separate pickup with a 6x12 trailer and we fit both in a pull through site and it looked like there was another 40 feet available," reports Phillip R. about his experience at Painted Rocks Campground, noting the spacious layout that accommodates large rigs with tow vehicles.
