    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks surround Fayette, Utah, providing convenient options for motorhome travelers. Rollin Home RV Park in Nephi offers big-rig friendly sites with full hookups, gravel pads, and grassy dividers between spaces. Monroe Canyon RV Park features spacious pull-through sites with 360-degree mountain views and complete utility connections. In Fillmore, both Wagons West RV Campground and Cedar Mountain RV Resort provide year-round access with full hookup capabilities. "The sites are nice, but closer together than most state park campgrounds, although the pull-through sites are angled, so you're not looking in your neighbor's windows," noted one RV traveler about the spacing at nearby parks.

Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with Verizon typically providing the most reliable coverage. Most RV parks accommodate pets, though specific restrictions may apply. Dump stations are available at all full-service parks, with Love's RV locations in Salina and Fillmore offering convenient sanitary dump access for travelers passing through. Summer temperatures can exceed 100°F, making hookups with 30/50 amp service essential for air conditioning operation. Navigation requires attention in some areas - one reviewer cautioned about GPS directions: "Watch your GPS! Our Garmin RV890 completely missed the turn onto Four Mile Road. The road has no street sign, no RV park sign, and said we were still 2 miles from the turn." Winter travelers should note that while many parks remain open year-round, some facilities may be winterized.

      Wagons West RV Campground

      Dated but inexpensive

No concrete pads, just gravel with grass and picnic tables between. The landscaping looks a little overgrown. The fencing around the small dog park isn’t secure.

Office and laundry facilities are closed on Sundays. Bathrooms are small but clean with one toilet stall and two shower stalls each.

Full hookups and pull through spaces. Wi-Fi is available but we didn’t test it.

It’s a very quiet place. Fillmore has a Best Western with a golf course, a few gas stations and a Carls Jr.

Painted Rocks Campground — Yuba State Park

      Big rig friendly

There is not much to do in the area and the lake is seriously low, but it is a great place to park for a night or two if you want peace and quite and you have a big rig. We have a 42 ft motorhome and a separate pickup with a 6x12 trailer and we fit both in a pull through sie and it looked like there was another 40 feet available. We were in campsite #2 but it looks like there are other sites that are quite long. The site was level with water and 50 among power.

      Monroe Canyon RV Park

Brand new RV park, long & wide sites, FHU, wifi and amazing mountain views

Let me not lie. We were up near Salt Lake City, we were waiting for WY to warm up a little and i wanted to get Starlink- but the area we were in was oversubscribed. I stumbled across this RV park while researching and called- spoke to the owner, Jordan. He is the nicest bloke, ever obliging, polite and a delight to deal with. He is a genuine guy who will do well for himself(I do sometimes get tired of the jaded hosts at other sites who feel like they are doing you a favor) We are so glad we stumbled across this gem of a park, as this has been most pleasant. For example. The are 100% sold out for Memorial Day weekend, but Jordan has offered that we can dry-camp as i finish out the work week. We are 30 foot 5th wheel, with solar and LIPO batteries(in fact, some days we ran off of solar completely except for those times we needed heaters or air-conditioners running.) OK, enough background. First.. The beautiful red barn is the building that has laundry, bathrooms and a functions venue. They actually rent this out for weddings, reunions or whatever occasion you wish to celebrate. This is a brand-new RV Park, big spacious sites with new utilities- full hookup at about$41 a night- with delightful 360 degree beautiful mountain views- the further ones still capped in snow. The sites are all very large pull throughs, so we would not have to unhook if we did not need the F250 to roam the area. The site is wide enough to park your tow vehicle next to your rig if you were so inclined. The full hookups all worked perfectly. There is wifi that was more than serviceable, it was good when i tested it. I was experimenting with my Starlink- which worked great here. My Visible and my Verizon worked great for data also. Cricket was great for phone calls. T-Mobile had good download but miserable upload speeds- hardly conducive to Teams calls. The facilities are great. About 5 washers and dryers. Laundry and shower are coin driven, but well worth the price. The park is so new that Jordan was planting trees at some sites this week. We travel extensively around the states, and intend to stop here whenever we are anywhere nearby- we want to watch this park grow and mature. Sitting outside having a BBQ watching hang-gliders over the closest mountain range is a great way to end the day. Highly recommend this RV park, we will return! We loved the whole experience at Monroe Canyon RV Park. As an added bonus, all the locals are so friendly.

      El Conejo at Yuba Lake

      Like boondocking with perks

Close to nature, the lake, the stars, and the main freeway. Optional add-on elec. hookup nice for charging EV car or Rv hookup. Picnic table, fire ring, and small deck for tent, plus access to potable water on site. Nice panoramic views of Utah mountains and sunrise and sunset. Back roads great for a walk or e-bike ride. Great stargazing at night. Cell service good, no shade.

      Millsite State Park Campground

Nice, quiet, very small SP with scenic views of the lake and canyon

We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site MI08 for 3 days in mid June. We left our boondocking site in the Grand Staircase-Escalante NM to get electric and water hookups because the temperatures were climbing into the 100’s in the area. The sites are nice, but closer together than most SP CGs, although the pull-through sites are angled, so you’re not looking in your neighbor’s windows and there are some trees between them as well. AT&T coverage was fair, with 2-3 Bars of LTE service and speeds up to about 2 MB/s. There were a few tall trees at each of the sites, but there were gaps between them, so we were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were zero OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

      Good location for rockhounding

Stayed here when rockhounding. Work remotely so needed cell service and this place has good verizon LTE. Nice large sites, BBQ and campfire pit. Shaded picnic area. Super windy at night, not sure if it’s the time of year or the norm. Late october - winterized for the season so no potable water or flush toilets but there’s still vault toilets.

Fishlake National Forest Oak Creek Rec Site

      A Hidden Gem

Traveling east along US-50 "The Loneliest Road in America," we were seeking somewhere to camp after leaving Great Basin National Park. We stumbled upon Oak Creek Recreation Area quite by accident, but such a rewarding accident it turned out to be. It must be the best kept secret in western Utah for camping.

Oak Creek campground is located four miles east of Oak City, Utah. It is nestled in a canyon in the Fishlake National Forest. We arrived at the campground late afternoon June 5, 2023 and had our choice of ANY campsite - we were the only occupants. We selected site 19, a back-in site at the end of the loop that runs through the campground. The site is less than 100 feet or so from Oak Creek which runs parallel to the campground. The site is level and easily accommodated our 18-foot travel trailer. Using our Senior America the Beautiful pass, the cost per night was $8.00 and worth every penny. In addition to this campsite, there is additional camping further up Oak Creek Canyon Road for tents, RVs, and trailers - access is via a well-maintained dirt road beyond the campground we stayed in.

Highly recommend this campground for peace and quiet!

      Maple Canyon

      Beautiful!

Love this place! During summer it’s hard to get a spot but there is some dispersed camping down the road. Fall is beautiful with all the colors! We were here in late October after a little snow so the place was empty. Even with no host (assume gone for winter) the area was very clean, pit toilets were open and stocked with TP. The camp sites are great for van/tent or maybe small RV but if it’s busy there are no turn around spots as day parking areas could be full. The sites have picnic tables and fire pits. No water and no cell service. Closest cell reception is top of canyon (via hike) or where concrete road ends at mouth of canyon. The rock climbing here is amazing! Tons of sport routes of all levels. Crazy conglomerate rock. Scenic but steep 4 mile loop hike to viewpoint. Bear and cougar country so keep your food and trash properly stored :)

      Sevier River RV Park

      Relaxing stay

We stayed here two nights in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. The park is reasonably large. We had no problems getting a spot here. Sites are gravel, level and well maintained. Most are pull through. Hookups are in excellent condition. Neighbors could be a little close if the place is full. Sites did not included a table, but there was plenty of room to set up outside. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

There is a fishing pond that was also home to geese, ducks and other birds. A river runs along two sides of the park. There is also an enclosure containing chickens and turkeys. The office provided food so our 3 year year old granddaughter could feed those birds. The office also contains a lounge area with TV and games. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Showers and a laundry are available, though we did not use them. I did not notice propane being available.

Fremont Indian State Park is nearby. We found this to be a very interesting park to see petroglyphs and rock art, along with some examination of cultures and explorers. There is also easy access to hundreds of miles of off-road trails and hiking trails.

The RV park is conveniently located near the highway, but not too close. There was very little highway noise. The park was quiet and peaceful, though you could wake to the geese if you choose a spot close to the pond.

We had 3 bar LTE with Verizon. I was able to use my hotspot, though had trouble posting on Facebook later in the day.

This was a very nice place to stay while traveling. It seems to be worth a few days if you are looking to relax. We will stay again when traveling this way.

    Guide to Fayette

RV camping near Fayette, Utah offers travelers direct access to central Utah's high elevation terrain, with most campgrounds situated between 4,800-5,500 feet. Temperatures fluctuate dramatically between seasons, with summer highs reaching 90°F and winter lows often below freezing. Cell service varies between carriers, with campgrounds in valleys typically offering stronger connectivity than those in canyon locations.

    What to do

ATV trail access: Monroe Canyon RV Park provides direct trail access for off-road enthusiasts. "This campground is an ATVers heaven as you can drive your ATV directly from the campground to the trails," notes one visitor at Monroe Canyon RV Park. Most weekends see the campground "filling up quickly and just about everyone had an ATV in tow."

Fishing opportunities: The Sevier River offers trout fishing directly from several campgrounds. A camper caught "5 brown trout all 10-12 inches" during their stay. Some RV parks maintain stocked ponds with various waterfowl adding to the experience.

Local history exploration: The area contains significant pioneer history sites. "Just 8 miles from the amazing little Fairview museum where we learned about the Mormon pioneers who settled here," shared one camper at Manti - La Sal KOA, noting the connection to early settlers.

Mountain recreation: The surrounding mountain ranges provide hiking and seasonal recreation. "Fremont Indian State Park is nearby. We found this to be a very interesting park to see petroglyphs and rock art, along with some examination of cultures and explorers," one visitor mentioned. "There is also easy access to hundreds of miles of off-road trails and hiking trails."

    What campers like

Mountain views: The elevated terrain creates panoramic vistas from many campsites. "Sitting outside having a BBQ watching hang-gliders over the closest mountain range is a great way to end the day," reports a visitor to Sevier River RV Park. Another notes the "spectacular 360° view of the mountains" as a standout feature.

Clean facilities: Recent renovations at several parks have improved amenity quality. "Loved the clean and renovated bathrooms and showers! The most reasonably priced campground in the area," writes one camper. Another mentions "immaculate restroom/showers and an excellent laundry facility."

Spacious sites: Several campgrounds feature above-average site dimensions. At Rollin Home RV Park, a visitor appreciated the "wide and long pull throughs were asphalt, more than enough room." Another camper noted sites that are "large pull through, gravel sites with full hook ups" with sufficient space for large rigs and tow vehicles.

Local hospitality: The small-town atmosphere extends to campground management. "Danny the owner, was great. Could not have asked for more. He started us right out with a five dollar per day discount," shared one guest. Another mentioned, "We had been on the road for a while and booked a spot a few hours before we arrived. They took great care of us."

    What you should know

Seasonal considerations: Weather conditions vary dramatically by season. "Summer temperatures can reach 90+ degrees, while winter visitors should expect freezing temperatures overnight," notes one camper. Another recommends checking winter services: "We stayed here two nights in our class C while slowly making our way across the country."

Limited services in small towns: The rural location means planning ahead for supplies. "Fillmore has a Best Western with a golf course, a few gas stations and a Carls Jr," explains one RVer at Wagons West RV Campground. Most campgrounds are 15-30 minutes from grocery stores.

GPS navigation challenges: Several campers report navigation difficulties. "Our Garmin RV890 had us coming in from the South end of Four Mile rd.... only it completely missed the turn ONTO Four Mile (it's just past the refinery)," cautions one traveler. Another advised: "The road has no street sign, no rv park sign etc & said we were still 2m to the turn."

Water pressure variations: Inconsistent water systems affect some facilities. "Water pressure high, use regulator," advises one camper. Another mentioned "if someone is doing laundry, we have to wait until they are done with laundry" to get hot water for showers.

    Tips for camping with families

Animal encounters: Several parks feature resident farm animals. "The office provided food so our 3-year-old granddaughter could feed those birds," shared a visitor to Jones High Country RV Park. "There is an enclosure containing chickens and turkeys" at another park, offering informal entertainment for children.

Swimming options: Limited pools are available during summer months. "Great swimming pool. Beautiful camp sites. Easy to find. Quick drive to small town eats and even a drive inn movie theater," notes one family camper. Community pools in nearby towns supplement limited campground options.

Budget-friendly alternatives: Price-conscious families can find economical options. "Only $25 a night for Good Sam Members, $150 for a week," reports one camper. Another found a tent site for just "$15 for a tent site sounded good to us, we were exhausted."

Safety considerations: Some locations are better suited for families than others. "This is in the back of the Loves Travel Center. It has 2 super nice dog parks that are fenced in. It is loud since it's in a gas station parking lot," warns a camper at Love's RV Hookup-Fillmore, suggesting it may not be ideal for extended family stays.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: RV sites vary significantly in quality. "The pullthroughs by the office, the road to get to them has a tight right turn & is narrow. If you're a triple axle, or over 40' you might want to look at the Pull-throughs in the 2nd section," advises one RVer.

Reservation timing: Campgrounds fill quickly during peak seasons. "The campground is normally at capacity with long termers but was able to give us a spot for the night," notes one last-minute arrival. Weekend availability is particularly limited at parks with trail access.

Overnight convenience stops: Several locations cater specifically to travelers passing through. "This was a super easy on and off, clean, new, nice amenities, not very crowded and right at the gas stations," explains a traveler at Love's RV locations.

Electrical capacity awareness: Verify amperage before booking during temperature extremes. "Spots were full but they let us park in the parking lot for the night and gave us full access to showers and laundry," reports one RVer who found creative solutions when standard sites were unavailable.
