Most parks accommodate pets with designated areas, and laundry facilities are available at select locations. Zion River Resort

Great park & amenities, close to everything!

We stayed at Zion RV resort in Virgin, Utah just outside Zion National Park and nearby towns in October 2021. This is a very nice full-service RV resort that offers a variety of pull-through and back-in sites, and cabins. The sites are 50amp FHU, fairly long, and have nice spacing between sites. The park is pristine and offers a large inviting pool and hot tub, laundry room, playground, dog runs, propane fill station, and a real lodge with lots of apparel, home goods, ice, beer and other beverage choices. There is access to the Virgin River from the campground. We really enjoyed our stay here just minutes from Zion and other local attractions. The only downside was wifi coverage if you have Verizon. This was spotty and one bar at most. We highly recommend this RV resort. To see videos on this campground and others, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

    WillowWind RV Park

Best wifi experience in an RV park

We needed stable, steady Internet for a month. While we regularly travel with two hotspots for Internet coverage, we barely needed to use them.

We stayed in one of the satellite friendly spots. Unfortunately, the space we were in was not so "friendly" due to the mature trees on either side. The satellite friendly spots are in the back of the RV park, and the aisle behind us had newer/younger trees that would not block satellite (but also would provide no shade).

Your experience at this park may vary. There were clearly a lot of monthly/semi-permanent residents at this park, especially on the back in spots at the edges. We would go back here, but we'd get a pull-through site next time.

    Pros:

    - Internet.

    - Location in reference to Zion, Bryce, and Cedar Breaks.

    - Post office (for general delivery) is 2-3 blocks away.

    - Major restaurants and retail stores within 10-15 miles (St. George).

    - At least 3 state parks within a 20 mile radius, two are water sport havens (Sand Hollow and Quail Creek) and the other is hiking trail nirvana (Snow Canyon).

    Cons:

    - No pool on site.

    - Location of trees on RV space meant that we could not use our patio awning for the month. If we positioned our RV to allow us to use the awning, we wouldn't be able to park our tow vehicle at all.

    - Our RV space was in the area with grass between the spaces. Sprinklers were programmed for daily delivery, and because of the width of the concrete pad, we were getting hard water stains on our RV (the sprinkler head pointed directly at our steps out of the RV). We noticed that on some of the "monthly" sites, there were plastic sprinkler head "deterrents" that would keep the spray from overshooting onto the concrete pad.

    Zion West RV Park

    Nice smaller park.

We stayed at Zion West RV park in October 2021. This is a small RV park with a mix of full-time and traveling RVers. It has a variety of sites including pull-through, back-in and tent sites. We had a FHU site with 50 amp service. This park doesn’t offer a lot of amenities, but does have showers and laundry room. It’s in the small town of Leeds, Utah and is about 30 minutes west Zion National Park. It is also near many trails and fun things to do. We enjoyed our stay here and it was quiet and relaxing. We will stay here again next time we visit Zion NP.

    Zion River Resort

Nice RV Park, wifi is slow though

The park itself is nice. Full hook ups, heated pool and hot tub. Restrooms and laundry on site. Propane also on site. There are also a series of fenced in dog parks (3). So if you have dogs that don’t get along with other dogs that’s a plus because you can just go in a different one. The wifi is kind of hit or miss sometimes though. When the park is full at peak times good luck streaming anything. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t spring for the back in river spots unless you just want privacy behind you. The view for us isn’t that great as there is a rock wall behind you so your view is actually of that unless you have a very big rig. It is very close to Springdale and Zion National Park which is very convenient and why we chose it so four stars.

Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney

    Come Here Digital Nomads

My wife and I are digital nomads, we run our company where ever we go so it's CRUCIAL that we have comfort items, but most importantly that we have **solid internet. **

We travel with 3 kids (ages 5, 3 & 3), 3 dogs, a cat, and a grandma in our 31' Travel Lite, Evoke Model B with the hopes of a road school education for them. EmpoweringHumansAdventures.com

We booked a deluxe premium site (site 16) and were very pleased with the room, the patio, the fire pit, grill, and nice table.  The parking was gravel and not flat, we had to level up.  Had access to 50 and 30 amp, sewer, and water.  Make sure you use a pressure monitor as the pressure was strong.  They offered firewood for sale and our fire pit was very nice.

We were close to the clubhouse which had coffee daily for a charge. ($1.30)  The store had the basics and all but one of the staff was extremely kind to us. If you need more you could walk to Sinclair and get more items.

They were very specific about dogs being leashed all the time, which we fully agree with.  As a former Marine K9 handler, it's normally not the dog that is the problem, it's the handler.  The dog area is very close to site 16.

The basic internet was blah, we upgraded to the faster speeds for $5.23 a day and it was well worth it.  We were able to stream tv for the kids, work on the laptops and do live video conferencing.  Support was very quick to respond when I asked for speed but they weren't able to give me more, but again it was good enough to get work done, stream and do video conferencing.

Cell coverage was ZERO for Sprint, and have to drive a ½ mile before getting coverage.

Overall the campground was pretty quiet, we are pretty close to the highway so you did have some large/loud trucks that drove by.

There are showers (very small) but the water pressure was great and the water was hot.  Bathrooms are always clean and the laundry was just fine.

We shot a few videos to share our experience and will stay here again.

Mossy Cave was very close and we highly suggest the short hike back to the waterfall.  A little further is the petrefried forest which was also nice.

You can zip over to Bryce Canyon National park ($38 entry fee) for the day.  It's well worth it and there's a ice cream shop just before you go into the park that I recommend.

    Things we loved:

    • The deluxe Premium site is great if you have small kids.

    • Internet was solid and gave us what we needed

    • This campground was extremely clean

    No so much:

    • No cell service

    • Feels very old

    • Road noise

Hope this review helps, we hope to see you on the road!

    Navajo Lake Campground

    Great family friendly campground

Loved this campground! Plenty of spots, good mix of back in, pull through, and tent. Spots have picnic table and fire rings. Flushing toilets and firewood for purchase. Limited parking for tent spots-one car per spot. Walking access to the lake and beautiful views! No cell service FYI, but 20 min drive to duck creek village where there is a general store, gas station, and cell service

Watchman Campground — Zion National Park

    Amazing Views

We camped at Watchman for three nights June 19-22,2020. Shuttles are not running and the scenic drive going to the lodge was closed due to COVID-19. We camped in the B loop, site # 51. This was a back-in space complete with a picnic table, fire ring (which we could not use due to fire season) and electrical hook-up. Portable water to fill tanks was available at the dump station just as you enter the campground. Our site was well shaded and very close to the Virgin River. Although available, we didn’t use the bath house.

The campground was full to capacity the whole time we were there. It is important to reserve your site at least 6 Months in advance at this campground!!

The Visitor’s Center and Park Store are within walking distance from the campground. Lots of swimming and tubing going on at the River. Tubes can be rented in Springdale. If you wanted to hike the Narrows or other trails along the scenic drive you had to either hire a shuttle ($30 round trip), bike or walk in. The paid shuttle pick up and return was in Springdale just outside the Park.

Dogs were allowed in the campground on leash and also on ONE trail. All other trails were off limits to pets.

    Panguitch KOA

    Panguitch, UT KOA

This is a super family-friendly campground and with so many "camping" options! There are full hook-up RV sites, cabins, and pre-assembled tent structures in various sizes. Amenities include: Swimming pool, playground, dog park, laundry, restrooms with showers, and Wi-Fi. It's a little close to the main street of the town, but that makes it easy to find!

    Zion River Resort

    Best RV Park in Utah

This place is so nice! Spacious shower stalls with toilet, sink, bench and shower. Laundry facilities. Year round heated pool and hot tub. Store on site with decent prices. All spots have a tree with grass, picnic table and concrete pads. Also has small playground and dog park. Access to Virgin River with a primitive trail.

Guide to Brian Head

The majority of RV campgrounds near Brian Head, Utah sit at elevations between 5,800 and 8,200 feet, creating distinct camping conditions compared to lower-altitude locations. Temperature ranges can fluctuate by 20-30 degrees between day and night, even during summer months. Winter camping options remain limited in the area due to heavy snowfall that typically begins in November.

What to do

Explore slot canyons nearby: Kanarraville Falls is within walking distance of Red Ledge RV Park, making it convenient for waterfall hiking. "This campground is perfectly located in Kanarraville, UT. Start with Kanarra Falls, an off the radar slot canyon which is just one mile away," notes a visitor. Permits are required and often sell out.

Mountain biking access: Cedar City provides strategic positioning for both east and west side trail systems. "We stayed here to get in some MTB riding. The park is conveniently located whether you want to ride the East or West side/s of Cedar City," explains one rider who stayed at Cedar Breaks RV Park.

Visit multiple national parks: The central location allows access to several parks within driving distance. "Red Ledge RV Park is perfectly located between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. And, Cedar Breaks is just a few miles away," according to a camper who used the location as a base camp.

What campers like

Fire pit options: Fire restrictions vary by location and season. "The in-ground fire pit is a nice feature," notes a visitor to Rubys Inn RV Park and Campground, where fires are permitted in designated areas.

Clean shower facilities: Bathroom quality varies significantly between campgrounds. "The bathrooms were incredibly well kept and clean with running toilets, sinks, and showers," reports one tent camper at Cedar Canyon Retreat.

RV site spacing: Some parks offer more separation between spaces. "The sites were roomy and all of ours were pretty level. The hookups on our sites were more to one end of the site and not so much in the middle," according to a reviewer at Ruby's Inn, who appreciated the layout.

What you should know

Road noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some campgrounds more than others. "It's right off the highway, which makes it easy to get to but not super quiet," explains a camper at Zion RV and Campground.

Steep road grades: Vehicle capabilities matter when traveling to higher elevations. The climb to Brian Head features significant inclines on paved roads that require proper vehicle preparation.

Limited cell service: Connectivity varies widely between locations. "No cell phone reception (Verizon). WiFi in the main building but doesn't reach the campsites unless you are super close," reports a visitor to Zion RV and Campground.

Tips for camping with families

Dog-friendly options: Pet policies and amenities differ between parks. "They have a big grassy dog park for him to run and play in, he loves running in the sprinklers! It's two sided and completely fenced in so large and small breeds can have their own safe space," notes a camper at Mammoth Creek RV Resort.

Alternative lodging for weather changes: Some campgrounds offer backup options during storms. A visitor to Red Ledge RV Park mentioned: "She always reminds us that for only 5 extra Bucks we can switch to a cabin. And she always leaves the cabin open at night just in case a storm rolls through."

Community spaces: Shared amenities create social opportunities. "The hot tub and community fire pit/grill is a great place to meet up with your neighbors for the night and talk about their travels," according to a Red Ledge RV Park guest who found these features valuable for family interaction.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling requirements: Ground conditions vary significantly between parks. "The RV sites have decent amount of room. We were in a pull through spot and we could hear a little road noise, but it wasn't a show stopper," reports a visitor to Bauers Canyon Ranch RV Park.

Winter camping base options: Parowan provides lower-elevation access to Brian Head skiing. "Very nice place with full hookups. We stayed here as base camp and spent our days 20 minutes up the mountain skiing at Brian Head," notes a winter visitor to Painted Hills RV Resort.

Reservation confirmations: Always verify your specific site type before arrival. Several campgrounds have reported changing site configurations between reservation and arrival dates, particularly during busy seasons.
