Cabin Hollow FS #121 Dispersed Camping
About
National Forest
Dixie National Forest
Many people enjoy the solitude and primitive experience of camping away from developed campgrounds and other campers. Dispersed camping is the term used for camping anywhere in the National Forest OUTSIDE of a developed campground. Dispersed camping is free, therefore no services or facilities are provided; such as trash removal, tables, and fire pits. In some popular dispersed camping areas, camping is limited to designated sites only.

Great spot
Spot is great, close to Bryce National Park. Tent camped so our spot was easy to get to in an suv. Trees, flat area and a pit. Other than the noisy neighbors it was a great spot.
Dusty and Crowded
As the title says, crowded area and very dusty.
An Especially Good Spot for Van Campes
We slept in our van which worked well because it seemed like most spots were on a hill or incline. The sites closer to the road are certainly bigger and more flat, but we had to drive a half-mile up the dirt road to find a spot away from others. Still, it worked as adequate secluded free camping outside of Bryce.
High Clearance for the best spots, great views, potentially windy
Great place off the road to camp for the night. The best spots are up the hill but require high clearance vehicles due to ruts and rocks. And when you’re on top the sites are pretty exposed to be prepared for wind and sun. Great place for a tent or RTT.

Primitive road access dispersed
This dispersed camping area is to the west of the more well known Tom Best Road Dispersed area. Still on Dixie NF but access road is native dirt one lane and no gravel or graded...so if very wet or rain could be sketchy access ( hence 3 stars). Sites are along the road upland side in flat spots and alcoves for about first mile or so. There are TT spots and also good overlander sites up higher. I would recon first before pulling a TT up there to make sure you can get a turnaround. No designated sites, no trash, tables, water or toilets. 14d limit. However cell signal is good if a clear line to Wilson peak antennas. Posted map screenshot shows my recon of campsites...trailer icon are sits with trailers, tent icon is more suited to overlander type setups with high clearance vehicles or smaller rigs.
