Amelia Family Campground

Just west of Amelia Court House, this family-owned campground spreads across open terrain with sites that maintain breathing room between neighbors. The property accommodates RVs up to 65 feet with full hookups, while also offering walk-in tent sites for those preferring a shorter setup distance from their vehicle.

Recent infrastructure updates have improved the water and electrical systems throughout the grounds. Sites avoid the cramped feel common at some commercial parks, though spacing varies across different areas of the property. A small pool provides relief during Virginia's warmer months, while a playground gives families with children a designated activity zone. The campground includes a pond and open field space that extends the usable area beyond individual campsites.

"New Updated water and electric has been installed," notes Ian B., who stayed monthly for work purposes. Basic hiking trails wind through portions of the property, though these remain relatively short routes rather than extensive backcountry access. The operation maintains a low-key atmosphere that differs from resort-style RV parks.

Monthly stays are available for extended visitors, and the management allows pets throughout the campground. For those exploring central Virginia's camping landscape, campgrounds around Amelia Court House provide additional options in this rural region.

Great Family owned Campground

New Updated water and electric has been installed. Great family owned. And the site are NOT right on top. It is a good one family campground. It is not an RV resort. But it's perfect for me these are the gems I love to find. Stayed monthly for job. And will refer others to this location!

Meh

Rougher, older campground. Lots of permanent, somewhat run down campers. Pool, playground, bluegrass festivals.

Ehhhhh

Small campground where sites are on top of each other. Small rundown playground along with a small pool are easily accessible. The site also comes with limited hiking trails, a pond, and a large field for the kids to run in. It is a good 1st time camp site but we probably won’t go back.
