Best RV Parks & Resorts near Saratoga, TX

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

RV parks near Saratoga, Texas offer full hookup options with varying amenities and access conditions. Gulf Coast RV Resort provides concrete pads with 50-amp service, while Hidden Lake RV Park features level concrete sites with nearby lake access and complimentary canoe use. Trinity Bay RV Park & Lodging maintains year-round availability with both 30 and 50-amp connections on sites that accommodate larger rigs. Boomtown USA RV Resort includes big rig-friendly pull-through sites, though spaces tend to be positioned close together. "All concrete pads with FHU. Long pull throughs some even long enough for 45' motorhome and tow. Mine 50 Amp and 65' pull through."

Many parks in the region remain open year-round despite occasional flooding concerns during heavy rain seasons. Cell service varies significantly between locations, with reviewers noting T-Mobile coverage is particularly weak around Rainbow's End RV Park while Verizon generally performs better throughout the area. Interstate 10 proximity makes several parks convenient overnight stops, though road noise affects some properties more than others. Most locations offer dump stations and trash service, with several featuring on-site laundry facilities. Pet-friendly policies are standard across the region, though designated pet areas exist only at select properties. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, travelers with larger motorhomes should confirm site dimensions in advance as some parks have tight maneuvering space despite advertising big rig compatibility.

    Hidden Lake RV Park

    Quiet

We stayed here as an easy close spot to Ford Arena Softball Fields. Literally 3 minutes there. It's a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers. A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available. A laundromat, bathroom and showers are on site; all very clean. Some of the sites are quite close with little shade. Most all have level concrete pads and full hookups. We stayed in site 30, which is a pull through large enough to accommodate big rigs.

    Rainbow's End RV Park

The Escapees HQ at Rainbows End

If you are a full tie RVer you have probably heard of the Escapees. The Escapees is the largest mail forwarding service and the clyb caters to full time RVers. Livingston TX is their main Headquarters, they do have 2 other semi Headquarters in FL and SD. If you are a full timer you now you need a domicile address and a mailing address for many things, this is how we do it. They have over 17,000 subscribers to their mail forwarding service, we are one of them. We stopped by this July to get our domicile done, vehicle registration, drivers license, voter registration etc. It was hot we will not come back in July again.

The campground is split into 2 main areas. They have a lot of deeded lots for you to buy which has houses, motor homes, park trailer or just roof for your RV. They have long term areas, overnighter, short long term, weekly or daily. You do not need to be a member of the Escapees to camp here, but we hear in the winter it does get full.

Camping full hook ups, electric and water, or just dry camping. They have just got some new internet on the area we were camping in and it was good enough to stream. They have a pool, clb house, activity center, 2 laundries, meeting rooms and a lot to do even in the summer. Most site are fairly level most gravel but do have some concrete pads. If it wasn't so hot I am sure we would have enjoyed it even more. One nice thing is they have a care center, areas that you can set up your RV and if you have something wrong with you they will help you out, take you to Drs, provide meals, help you. This is nice for us older folks that we worry about what happens if we need long stay for treatments and we have no home base.

Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort

Three Years New Campground with a Great Staff and Extra Amenities

I was surprised this campground had not been reviewed.  We stayed here in Jan '24 on the way to Houston for business.  Grand Pines is located on I-10 southeast of Beaumont TX.  Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car. Grand Pines has high speed WIFI and free laundry facilities.  Grounds were well kept when we were there. Sites are a bit close together. They may now have more long term usage than transient. Still, it is a great stop over to catch up on domestic duties.

    Houston East RV Resort

    Beautiful Landscaped Sites

Ok these are all premium sites, resort is easy off and on i-10. Gated resort, nice sites, roads are all nice concrete, with concrete parking pads for RV and or tow vehicles. The sites are nicely landscaped, grass, trees, picnic tables, full hookups, include cable and wifi. It is located right off and beside i-10, so there is road noise, but everything food, restaurants, shopping, is all nearby. It's a great stop if traveling i-10 passing through. Oh they also have covered RV sites should you want to beat some of that sunshine off your rig in summer heat. There is a small pool that is nice, and a lake behind campground so one row of sites has lake views. We just took a pull through site under the canopy of trees, it's very nice!

    Alligator Parish Park Campground

    Clean and quiet

Stayed one night in 30 ft travel trailer (May 2,2022) and we were the only campers. There were other visitors/fisherman but quiet and peaceful. Restrooms clean and spacious. Shower was separate and locked but host would unlock as needed. All 7 pads are gravel, level, elevated above grass—helpful after hard rain— and would accommodate large rigs. Lake or old river course 100 plus feet from campsites. May bring kayaks next time. Road access is good and signs to guide you. One bar cell service. Each site has sewer but not conveniently located—near entrance to site and would require very long hose or require rigs to block access road when dumping This park happened to be along our route to another campground and not along major highway. Nice place to relax overnight or for few days.

    LIMIT: 14 days

Group day use facilities with shelter, boat ramp, dump station, gate house, camp host, flush toilets, playground, covered picnic table, accessibility, pull throughs, fish cleaning table, pedestal grill This campground is the best COE campground that we have visited. It is very well maintained and extremely large. Sites are very nicely spaced out. The cons: fire ants, deer flies, and mosquitoes. Pros: Well maintained, beautiful, peaceful, fishing, boating, trails. Love site 36 There is a free fishing pond for the exclusive use of children and individuals with special needs. It is stocked with catfish and rainbow trout. There are even trophy largemouth bass released in the pond by local fishermen. If you catch "the big one" please practice "catch and release" so someone else might enjoy. There are four well marked trails that meander through old growth hardwood forest. You will see huge southern magnolia and American beech trees. The trails are color coded and there is a very nice map available from the gate house.

This COE campground should be a benchmark for all other COE campgrounds. We will return.

    Lake Livingston State Park Campground

    One of Our Favorites

We arrived 151 days after making our on-line reservations for the very busy Memorial Day weekend in Piney Shore Loop campground. This was our fourth camping adventure at Lake Livingston State Park in the Piney Shore Loop.

Pros EXTREMELY quiet during the Memorial Day weekend. Even tho not backed up to

lake, nice view of lake from Site#55. Double concrete pad as it is an accessible campsite. Very level concrete pad; no need to do any type of leveling. Nice early morning shade onto Site#55 Very good privacy from neighbor Site#54 and Site behind#48 Park ranger drive-thru about every four hours Restroom/showers good working condition, clean, ample hand soap and toilet paper. Recently paved park roads very nice upgrade Mosquitoes were drawn to those who strung lots of lights throughout their site, so many did not use those lights which resulted in good dark conditions for night sky viewing. 1-2 bars AT&T cell service. Lowes, Walmart and small HEB close by n the town of Livingston Cons. Campers requiring mobility assistance may find this campsite very challenging, even tho it does have a double wide concrete pad. Site#55 labeled as accessible but is very accessible unfriendly as it is not close to campground toilet shower facilities, fire ring is up a gravel hill on driver side of camper. Piney Shore Loop sewer hook up required 20 feet of stinky slinky. No privacy from Site#56. No privacy from the campground road. Picnic table in mud hole nearly the size of the table and very unleveled with one end higher than the other end. Unable to move picnic table as it is chained to concrete pylon. Picnic table not wheelchair accessible. No afternoon-to-evening shade what-so-ever. Site#56 campers permitted their dog to run without a leash. No park WIFI

    Rainbow's End RV Park

    Good Travel Stop

This park is owned by Escapees RV Club.  We joined Escapees for the benefits, which include discounted camping.  We've stayed at this park several times, particularly when in the learning process for our new RV, as there is a lot of support here.  A lot of full time RV'ers use Rainbow's End as their home base, and a lot of full timers stop here for long periods of time while moving across country.  I always learn a lot from these long time full-timers.

The sites are decent, with gravel driveways and full hookups for both 30 amp and 50 amp.  They have an area for dry camping as well. are not level, so be sure to bring your leveling blocks if your rig does't have a leveling system.

There are a couple of bath houses and laundry facilities.  The bathing areas are kept clean and are spacious, but nothing fancy.  There is a swimming pool which is open in summer, but we've never used it.  They also have a weighing station, although I never used it.  Propane delivery is available once a week.  Sign up in the office if you want to get on the schedule.

Guide to Saratoga

RV sites near Saratoga, Texas offer convenient access to the Big Thicket National Preserve region, which encompasses over 113,000 acres of diverse ecological zones. The area experiences high humidity with summer temperatures frequently exceeding 90°F while winters remain relatively mild. Seasonal flooding can affect campground access, particularly during heavy spring rains and hurricane season.

What to do

Fishing at private lakes: Trinity Bay RV Park provides direct access to Trinity Bay with a lighted fishing pier adjacent to the property. "Great location for fishing, birding and boating. Next door to beautiful Trinity Bay and River with nice fishing pier with lights, two public boat ramps, and Fort Anahuac Park," notes camper Lori1234! R.

Water recreation on Hidden Lake: Visitors at Hidden Lake RV Park can enjoy complimentary water activities on the property's small lake. "A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available," mentions reviewer Cat R., adding that the park is "a quiet place to stay."

Stocked fishing ponds: Boomtown USA RV Resort maintains private fishing areas for guests. "Private stocked lake. Very nice and attentive staff and park is clean and well maintained," writes Jeff N. The property also features "a small swimming/beach area" according to Tori K.

What campers like

Level concrete pads: Trinity Bay RV Park & Lodging offers well-maintained sites that accommodate large rigs. "The long, big level cement pads saved time setting up-we left our trailer hitched for our overnight stay," shares Sara H. Another camper confirms they're "Very big rig friendly" with "Level, concrete pads."

Park cleanliness: Woodsy Hollow Campground maintains neat grounds with natural surroundings. "We loved this campground. Site 18 was pretty level and had full hook ups. The campground overall was really very quiet and peaceful," notes Randy S., who appreciated the "great playground area for kids."

Secure gated access: Safety measures at some properties provide peace of mind for overnight stays. At Boomtown USA RV Resort, "You have to have codes to enter the gates and they have cameras around the property for safety keeping," explains Dayanis P.

What you should know

Cell service variations: Mobile connectivity differs significantly between campgrounds in the region. At Rainbow's End RV Park, "if you have Tmobile cel phones or hotspots, this is not the RV park for you. We barely had cel phone reception, and our mobile hotspot was all but useless. Verizon works well here," reports Rachel H.

Highway noise levels: Proximity to Interstate 10 affects ambient sound at several campgrounds. "Very close to I10 and the highway noise is bad," kelly N. says about one location, while at Rio RV Park at Turtle Bayou, a camper notes it's "literally right next to interstate 10 and VERY NOISY!!!"

Site spacing considerations: The distance between camping spots varies widely across properties. Some sites are "very close together with little shade," while others offer more generous spacing. At Woodsy Hollow, visitors note it seems "the left side of the campground is for long term sites so make sure you pick a site on the right side as you drive in."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Woodsy Hollow Campground & RV Resort features child-friendly recreation areas. "Had a great playground area for kids and we loved walking down to the lake," shares Randy S., who recommends the campground for families wanting quiet outdoor time.

Swimming options: Several RV parks near Saratoga maintain swimming pools or beach areas for family use. At Boomtown USA, "Pool and jacuzzi area is wonderful. Very well maintained. Huge lake to enjoy," according to Brian C., though another visitor warns the beach area has "a lot of bees or wasps of some sort that are living in the sand."

Water activity equipment: Complimentary recreation equipment enhances family camping experiences. Hidden Lake RV Park provides "free use of canoes and peddle boat available," reports a camper who visited with children for a softball tournament in the area.

Tips from RVers

Flooding awareness: The low-lying terrain around Saratoga can experience weather-related issues. "It had rained and it was rather flooded! The small areas of grass were unkempt," reports Cat R. about one property, while another mentions "tire ruts along the pads have not been filled in."

Site selection strategy: Experienced RVers recommend researching specific site numbers before booking. At Gulf Coast RV Resort, "Roads inside park are large enough to all rig sizes," but some visitors reported issues with "the pad is buried into the ground which cause hills into the grass" and problems with sewer hookups where the "hose to run uphill."

Arrival timing considerations: Some RV sites near Saratoga, Texas offer after-hours check-in options. At Trinity Bay RV Park, "We came in after hours and selected a space then paid the following day," notes Christina H., who found the "park was very clean and quiet, despite a mostly full site."
