    Stickers galore!

The facilities were clean and the manager was nice but the cleanliness of the pool left a lot to be desired. Beware if you have pets because there's stickers everywhere. Smoke detector in the ladies restroom went off the entire time we were there. But that's just about it. Quiet except for the freeway, very busy place but very respectful folks.

Clean, gated, good grass, dog park

Honestly this place is way better than i anticipated. Gated, clean, several of the sites have a covered veranda over the private picnic tables. Dog park with separate areas for small and large breed dogs. Full hook up w/ 50 amp and well spaced out sites. The grass is nice too (a lot of places are mainly weeds and stickers/thorns that my dog doesn’t want walk in). $52 for one night so a bit pricey for us to stay longer than a couple days but definitely a good place to stop that i feel is clean and safe. Others complained of hearing a train but we were there in the summer and with our a/c on i can’t hear any exterior noises

    Nice!!

The Love's RV Stop was clean with long drive paths and enough space. The information about the water hookup was a little confusing as it stated to only fill up vs water hookup while at your RV location. We didn't see a laundry facility as advertised or RV store. We feel though Love's RV Stop is convenient, we feel they're missing a few key points. If their going to advertise a facility, they need to ensure it's either at the Gas Station or the RV Campsite. There also needs to a storm shelter, building, or information regarding evacuations in an emergency, for tornadoes, hail, or worse since there's no tenant, representative, or security on site anywhere. Lastly, IF they're going to advertise the gas station stop as the official RV Store, there needs to safe walk path to store from the RV Stop vs unhooking to drive there when someone is only here for a layover (1 night). Other than those issues, the RV Stop is great! We would definitely use them more in the future!

    We couldn’t find the laundry

So let me start this review by saying we found the stretch of Odessa to Sweetwater a bit challenging as far as campgrounds. Several of the places we called were completely booked - the one campground told me that industry was booming and workers were camping because housing wasn’t available. This type of campground wouldn’t be my first pick.

However, it has many advantages - the gate was secure, the sites were level and had an extra parking space, the WiFi was good, booking online AND checking in online were super easy, it was reasonably priced and it was located right next to the interstate.

There is a pickleball court, sitting area and dog play area in the center of the campground (it’s not super large), but we could not find the laundry anywhere and we really needed to do laundry! The bathrooms were located at the front of the park at the gate, which seemed weird and it seemed like there was only two and that while your showering inside, someone who has no idea it’s occupied, is out there trying to punch in the code.

To me, if you need a quick and easy place to park for the night in an area where the other options are sparse, this is a great fit.

UPDATE There is no laundry - you have to go over to the truck stop to use laundry, but it’s not part of the campground.

    Good stop

Small area in local park. Not for big rigs. Comanche has a pond, disc golf, playgrounds and trails that are nice. Lot of trash around tho. 3 days max.

Lake Colorado City State Park Campground

Nice and peaceful Friendly & helpful staff

On the good side, they have helpful , friendly office staff. And, as a bonus, FedEx and UPS deliver here

The campsites range from ‘ok’ to ‘needs help’. A tired park that could use some revamping. We enjoyed the different landscape. Dump station is not really usable for honey cart - surrounded by concrete lip/edging

A different/rugged kind of landscape. Really peaceful. Also somewhat windy - not sure if this is seasonal or not.

Starlink worked fine. T-Mobile, Verizon, Visible and Cricket were light on signal strength. Both Verizon and T-Mobile are 5G and download was ok but upload sucked

Loop road was wide enough for 1 vehicle, but was not a one-way road - cos of drive-thru sites. Plenty of room to pull off, so all good

    Stickers & Cactus everywhere

The lake is down. The best place to see the lake from this State Park is at the very end by the boat launch area with picnic area. Day use. If choosing an RV spot you won't really see hardly any of the lake but a peek view.

It's still okay but nature is starting to take over and it appears that the state has no money for this park. Maybe others but not for this park.

Bird watching is cool. Ground squirrels and rabbits too. I don't know how they don't get stickers in their paws. Our poor dogs couldn't walk anywhere without getting poked and stuck.

Hardly any spaces have anyone in them. So sad that it's being overlooked in so many ways. 😪

    Nice overnight stay

No frills. Clean bathrooms and laundry. 60 channel cable. Did not try wifi. AT&T very good. Verizon mediocre. Loves and another convenience store within walking distance. Big dog run. Vending machine for ice on-site. Looks like beer and wine sales coming as well as a work out room. Owners appear to be making upgrades

    Quiet, peaceful night

We were greeted by the very friendly and welcoming owner, who showed us to our site and stayed until he was sure we would not have any issues at the site. The site was level and the hookups were in very good condition. The site was not too close to neighbors, but did not have a table.  The park was mostly dirt with many nice trees typical of this region. There were a few toys around for children and an occasional bench to sit on. The park made for a nice evening stroll.

The RV park is conveniently located near the highway, but not too close. Highway noise was present, but distant and not a bother. There were trains that came through, but no whistles blew. We hardly noticed them and they did not disturb our sleep. The park was quiet and peaceful overall.

We only had 1 bar LTE with Verizon but had no issues with calls or using our hotspot.

This was a very nice place to stay a night while traveling. We will stay again when traveling this way. The owner let us know that March would be a good time to visit as nearby Sweetwater hosts its annual rattlesnake roundup.

Lake Colorado City State Park Campground

Wonderful place to get away from it all!

What a nice place to come and unwind!

It's a pretty large place but still small enough to get away from it all!  Sites are well spaced so you're not on top of each other... nice! You're far enough away from town to make it inconvenient to just get up and go but still close if you want to go out for dinner or get some groceries.

Sites are "lay of the land" so be sure to have plenty of blocks/boards to help level out your rig, kinda typical for a state park.

The park staff/Rangers are very nice and helpful.

There are two trails to hike if you need something to do and can't use the lake. Check them out on the "Trailforks and/or GaiaGps" hiking apps. (https://www.trailforks.com/ridelog/view/46383104/) (https://www.trailforks.com/ridelog/view/46377598/)

    Great spot to nap

My husband and I are on a very long road trip. Last night around 3:30 am we were getting extremely tired and needed to make a stop for some sleep. All of the rest areas were completely full, the normal camp sites were not able to be booked and so we pulled up the Dyrt for a last minute free spot. The area was not hard to find, the stars are breathtaking, it was nice and very quite. I didn’t see much trash at all ether! It is simply a great place to stop for the night. We woke up to a very nice sun rise of wind turbines and a lake with duckies! Simply amazing.

Nice CG for Convenient Overnight Stay

We stayed one night (May 29, 2022). The is a nice, easy access CG with large, level pull through and back in gravel sites. It is located right off of I-20 and next to a Love’s Travel Stop – there is a lot of road noise and trucking activity, but no bother. I added the Western Kingbird and Bullock's Oriole to my birding list here. The WiFi was good as was cell service. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It was convenient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again.

    Follow the Brazos River!

Decent spot for couple of nights while checking out the area. This park has maybe 10 sites. Most have tables and grills. Not really suitable for big rigs, as it is in the middle of Granbury. Ideal for tents, vans, or small campers. Lot of day use activity among the locals. Dumpsters and portable toilet are available. Lots of trees to protect from the summer heat! T-mobile was decent at this site. I was able to get some work done.

    One night stop

RV hook ups are water and electric. There is an unmarked dump site. See the website. Only 5 rigs here. Sites are not clearly marked but lots of space. We had good AT&T service. Bathrooms are flush toilets with no TP. No shower.

    Mesquite Country

This is a nice, clean campground for the most part. Lots of stickers for your dogs & shoes tho- its pretty quiet. Only a short hiking trail. Covered picnic tables. Nice sunrises & sets.
It seems like most people are using this as an overnight stopover for other destinations.

Could be really nice with a little work

I planned to stay here longer to explore the area, but with the combination of high winds and the set up here, I only stayed the night. Three sites are not clearly marked, so it's pretty confusing. The bathrooms were padlocked shut. The sign says to pay away the golf course. I arrived after dark, so I planned to do that in the morning, but someone was knocking at my door at 7:30 am to collect the fee. I didn't much care for that. It outs cheap, though, only $15/ night with hook ups.

    Unknown Gem

My husband found Ruddick Park on google maps n checked their website n it is open 24 hours.

Beautiful park on 138 acres, geese n ducks in the pond, pavilion, fire pit, amphitheater. The area by the lid building n trail states no camping otherwise no signage.

NO services so if you stay please leave no trace.

    Quiet area with minimal noise.
