    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Lake Greenwood State Park Campground near Ninety Six provides 30 and 50 amp electrical service with water hookups at most sites, and some include sewer connections. The campground features paved parking pads throughout, though many RV sites are positioned close together with limited privacy. Moon Landing Campground in Cross Hill offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service, water, and sewer connections for RVs only, while Big Water Marina & RV Park in Starr maintains 40 sites with full hookups suitable for large motorhomes. Plum Branch RV Park accommodates big rigs with 45 sites featuring water, electric, and sewer connections. "The park is clean and nearly every camp spot is shaded. All roads and camp spots are paved and have fire pits. Some have water and power (30 and 50 amp), some have sewer."

Most RV parks in the area operate year-round, though Lake Greenwood tends to be busier during summer months when water activities are popular. Sanitary dump stations are available at Lake Greenwood, Moon Landing, and Pointes West Army Resort for those staying at sites without sewer hookups. According to one visitor, "The campground is steep so bring plenty of blocks!" Cell service varies throughout the region but remains generally reliable at established parks. Pet policies allow dogs at most locations, though restrictions may apply in certain areas. Reservation requirements differ between parks - Lake Greenwood State Park requires advance booking, particularly on weekends and holidays, while some smaller parks may accommodate walk-ins depending on availability.

      Springfield - Hartwell Lake

Nice well kept Corp of Engineers campground

This is a typical Corp of Engineers campground, well kept with a variety of pull through and back-in sites.  Sites are 50/30/20 electric with water, picnic table and fire ring.  Many sites have a tent pad, are very level packed gravel/sand and well situated with very few having very close neighbors.  Shade is at a premium on some sites due to cutting of pine trees a couple of years ago but almost all are waterfront with an excellent view.  Some sites have direct access to the water allowing boats right at the site and swimming.  The swimming beach is very nice and well maintained as are the playgrounds.  Three bath houses are convenient to all loops, well maintained and clean.  Cell service is very good as is over the air TV with numerous channels available.  The dump station is easy in/out.  Sites 10 through 40 have awesome views of Lake Hartwell.

      Mistletoe State Park Campground

Gorgeous and Tranquil in the Woods

This place was so perfect and our first camping experience with our new 40 foot RV! Check-in was easy and they even let us change to a pull-through site last minute. The grounds were sooooo gorgeous! Trees everywhere. Walking trails. And of course the lake. We went during fall colors so it was really magical.

PROS: Clean restrooms, spacious RV sites (they felt very private), many bathhouses within walking distance, friendly staff, nice gift shop

CONS: wet firewood and of course you had to buy from them, playground very small- made more for toddlers/preschool age, less than 5 years old, long walk to the dumpsters

Petersburg - J Strom Thurmond Lake

      Beautiful campsites

This campground has magnificent views, spacious sites, picnic tables, firepits, power (30 and 50 amp) and water hookups, dump station, bathrooms, and groomed swimming area.

The site (21) was very easy to pull through and had a wonderful view of the lake. I had to try to see my neighbors at the next site because the foliage separated the sites well. I saw a grounds person actively maintaining the empty sites which explains how well kept this campground is. The access roads are well kept.

      Dreher Island State Park Campground

      Family Adventures on Lake Murray

I loved how Dreher Island State Park in South Carolina gave our family the best of both safety and fun, with shaded, roomy sites that included picnic tables, fire rings and well-kept bathhouses that made camping easy with kids. The campground sits right on Lake Murray, so the kids spent hours swimming, skipping rocks and spotting herons, while short hiking trails gave them just enough adventure without wearing them out. With boat ramps, fishing spots and wide-open lake views, it felt like a true escape, yet I had peace of mind knowing everything was family-friendly and close by when we needed it. Evenings ended around the campfire with tired, happy kids and a beautiful lakeside sunset.  I would highly recommend this place!

      Croft State Park Campground

Shakedown trip with new first camper

Great state park. Easy back in some pull through. Spacious clean sites. Many historic hiking trails easy to mod. Horse trails with stables. Bike trails. Lake Craig is nice fishing with rentable Jon boats, kayaks and SUP. No gas motors or swimming. No pool and dump station only. Playground and clean bathhouses.

      Fireside RV Park

      Clean, quiet and quaint

Stayed here for 5 days visiting family in the area and it was nice. There is no office or showers or anything like that. Spots are fairly close but the people all seemed friendly.

There seemed to be quite a few long term campers but the place was clean.

The grass is very nice instead of dirt or gravel pad next to you.

No picnic tables and the WiFi was just useable. I had 2-3 bars of AT&T LTE Wireless signal.

Winfield - J Strom Thurmond Lake

      Very nice place !

This place has some great sites. Our site was #25. It was a pull through with 30 and 50 amp plugs. It’s a level lot with a grill, fire ring, picnic table and another small table. It’s right on the lake. There is a retaining wall at the water so it’s about a 3” step to the water. We plan to bring a sep ladder next time. Beautiful place to spend your time camping.

      Woodsmoke Family Campground

      Overnight Stop

Ok for overnight stop but wouldn't be a travel destination. Most sites seem to be long term or permanent sites. Very close to neighbor site, with fire pit being extremely close. Water, Sewer, Power, WiFi
