Several RV parks offer full hookup sites near Richland, Oregon. Eagle Valley RV Park provides year-round camping with water, electric, and sewer connections along with shower and toilet facilities. Sites accommodate big rigs with level gravel pads. Halfway Motel and RV Park, located in Halfway, operates year-round with fifty-amp hookup capability. Oasis on the Snake RV Park in Huntington features water, electric, and sewer hookups with availability from March through November. A-Frame RV Park in Baker City includes full hookups, showers, and accommodates larger RVs. "Big trees, lots of shade, full hook ups. Pic-Nic tables at each spot. We have a 36ft travel trailer with slides on both sides. Was able to fit into the pull through no problem with truck parked in front."

Access to RV parks in this region may require careful navigation, particularly when traveling through mountain passes. Most campgrounds offer sanitary dump stations, though availability varies seasonally. Cell service can be spotty in canyon areas but generally reliable near larger towns. According to one visitor, "The RV parking is in back of the motel so it's not very scenic right there, but the surrounding area makes up for it." Pet policies differ between locations—A-Frame RV Park provides an exceptionally large off-leash dog area, while some parks restrict certain animals. During summer months, temperatures in lower elevation sites like those along the Snake River can reach the upper 80s even after dark, making reservations advisable for parks with shade trees.

      Mtn View RV Park

      Mountain View Rv park

Nice little park, few miles off the hwy so no hwy noise. Cut store/ office, friendly staff. Sites are small, just long enough for Rv and tow, gravel and level enough for one night. Great water pressure. Cable tv and strong WiFi.

      Park At The River

Beautiful spot but not really camping

Park at the River is in a beautiful location but it’s a full blown RV park, not a campground. The big rigs are really packed in. The dry camping spots by the river are great until the neighbors run a generator all day long. There are all kinds of amenities within walking distance: stores, restaurants, mini golf, etc.

      Good Short Stay Campground Choice

This review is based on an overnight or short stay versus destination campground (CG). Our GPS took us right into this CG. Check-in was easy and we headed to pull through site 118 with FHUs. The pad was plenty long enough for our 40’ 5th wheel and our F450. The utilities were in the middle of the pad, which made it nice for our one-night stay. As the water pressure here is around 100 psi, you need to use a reducer. Sites are close to one another but you still have a grass yard with some separation. We stayed here back in 2019 and not much had changed. They added a small fenced dog area inside the CG. They still have the field behind the park where you go out a gate into a small industrial area. There’s a poop bag dispenser and trashcan. Happily, people were picking up after their dogs. There were a mix of overnighters to long-stay residents and the CG did not have trashy sites. We could not get the CG Wifi to connect, but we did have 2 bars on Verizon. The CG has cable but we did not use it as we were able to stream on our Verizon MiFi. There are a lot of mature trees so satellite could be iffy depending on your site. They have a nice little store with sundry and gift items. Across the street from the office/store is a nice laundry facility. We again enjoyed our time here.

      Hells Canyon Park

      Great hosts, lovely grounds

The campground itself is ok. If you get a site down by the water, those are the only ones with picnic tables and fire pits (19, 20, 21, 22, D1, D2, D3, where D = no hookups). Many of the sites with hookups are basically parallel parking spots but they don’t have their own picnic tables or fire pits. There are no tents allowed on the grass in the RV area, they are allowed on the pavement only. Tents are of course welcome on the grass in the tent camping area. There are picnic tables and fire rings in the tent area. Sites 6 and 8 were very sunny and hot. There is river access for swimming, shady areas over by the swimming area, and shady areas with picnic tables in the day use areas. The tent sites appeared to be on a slope. The camp host was THE BEST! She moved us out of a sunny site and had one available with a fire pit and picnic table for our first night. She checked back in frequently and was delightful to visit with. She takes excellent care of her guests and made the whole weekend especially enjoyable. There are docks available for boat parking and additional parking available for boat trailers. The grass is as green as can be and is watered daily which makes it very nice. There are flush toilets and a shower for guests to use as well as some porta potties. Dogs are welcome and must be leashed at all times. There are trash receptacles for waste and the campground was incredibly clean and nice.

      A-Frame RV Park

      Friendly Front Desk Staff

Paid $44 for a night with full hookups. We appreciated the friendly staff. Dog Friendly with a 14 acres off-leash dog park! Washrooms were small but very clean. Even though it is 1 minute off the highway it was fairly quiet.

      Union Creek Campground

      Open and quiet

This campground is about 20 miles southwest of Baker Or. Hundreds of miles from Crator Lake or Prospect that the other reviews said were close...must be another Union Creek Campground over there.

Excellent campground. About 50/50 reservable vs first come first serve. Good space between sites. Elec and water hookups...a few have full hookups. Dump on site. Cell service and over the air TV....surprisingly.  Some sites have lake (reservoir) view. Mixed shade sites.

We intended to stay 2 nights but stayed 4 because of great weather and campground.

      Wallowa Lake State Park Campground

      Great Fall Retreat

We enjoyed our off season stay!

Easy back in to our fairly level site.

Unfortunately they had water hookups shut off for winter (after we made our reservation, but before we arrived). So we had to venture back out to the design acted water fill campsite our first morning.

Sites were nice, but very much on top of each other, IMHO. I prefer more privacy for longer stays. Wouldn't want to be there in peak season.

They ask that you don't offload a full black/grey tank at your site, as the septic system can't handle it... in my experience, the dump site may not be able to handle it either. We were after another camper, and it began to overflow as we finished emptying our grey... neither having been completely full.

The picnic table and firepit were at the end of the site, not next to the RV pad/door, as I would've preferred.

A nice nature trail to the lake.

    Guide to Richland

Eagle Valley RV Park in Richland offers full hookups with water, electric, and sewer connections for RV campers. The park operates year-round and accommodates big rigs with pull-through sites. Located along Oregon Highway 86, the campground provides amenities including showers, toilets, and a sanitary dump station. Nearby, A-Frame RV Park in Baker City similarly offers full hookup sites with 50-amp electrical service and has gravel pull-through sites that can accommodate larger motorhomes with slide-outs. Both parks maintain picnic tables at RV sites and allow pets. Oasis on the Snake RV Park in Huntington provides full-service RV sites but operates seasonally from March through November. "Big trees, lots of shade, full hook ups. Pic-Nic tables at each spot. We have a 36ft travel trailer with slides on both sides. Was able to fit into the pull through no problem with truck parked in front."

Road access throughout the region requires careful planning, particularly for larger RVs navigating mountain roads. Several campgrounds have gravel sites that may require leveling blocks during wet conditions. According to one visitor, "The RV parking is in back of the motel so it's not very scenic right there, but the surrounding area makes up for it." Cell service varies significantly between locations, with stronger signals reported at parks closer to towns. Most RV parks in the area accept reservations, which are recommended during summer months when fishing and boating activities draw higher visitor numbers. Dump stations are available at most developed RV parks, though some smaller facilities may lack this amenity. Winter travelers should note that while Eagle Valley RV Park remains open year-round, many surrounding recreation areas have seasonal closures due to snow conditions.
