Best RV Parks & Resorts near Phoenix, OR

Holiday RV Park in Phoenix offers 100 RV sites with water, electric, and sewer hookups. Sites accommodate big rigs with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical connections available. A visitor commented that "the site is easy to maneuver with all pull through spots to avoid how tricky it is to back up a big rig." Southern Oregon RV Park in Central Point, about 7 miles north, features level concrete pads with full hookup sites and is designed for large motorhomes. Riverpark RV Resort in Grants Pass, 30 miles northwest, provides full hookup sites for RVs year-round, though fires are not permitted within the park.

Advance reservations are recommended during summer months when parks fill quickly. Most RV sites near Phoenix have sanitary dump stations for guests, though some parks charge an additional fee for this service. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the region with good coverage for ATT, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The majority of parks welcome pets but require them to be leashed. Several parks experience highway noise due to proximity to Interstate 5, particularly those closest to the freeway. According to one visitor, "we moved to a site that backed up to the Greenway and the noise was muffled enough and much more tolerable." Winter travelers should note that some parks may disconnect water at individual sites during freezing weather, though potable water remains available at central locations.

    Joseph H. Stewart County Park

    Great State Park

We chose an RV hookup site for our 40' coach with tow vehicle. 30 amp power but based on forecasted cold weather they had turned off the water at the sites. Potable water was available at the dump station. Free warm showers and flush toilets. However, the bathrooms are old and appear dirty and grimy (rust stains, chipped paint, etc). Great walking and bath paths at the park and close enough to visit Crater Lake National Park. Large trees within the park though it doesn't provide much privacy with camp neighbors. In late October they had reduced the open loops but there was a good mix of tent and RV campers.

Ashland's Creekside Campground & RV Park

    Undergoing Improvements

At highway 66 near Ashland this park has both RV and tent sites. The RV sites are full/partial hook up (30 amp only) and dry camping. Note though that even if you pay for partial or dry you will still need to pay $10/dump your tanks. We opted for just full hook ups here. The tent sites are near the creek.

There was some work being done that appear to be some upgrades. There is a nice pool area, a pond and the creek. The sites are level with picnic tables and fire pits. There are bathrooms, free hot showers, laundry, dog run, playground and store. Also available is propane ($3.50/gallon) book exchange and ice. Wifi was fast and free.

The road noise is noticeable but not too bad. Some of the spots can be close but for a night it wasn't bad. Pets are allowed on leash only but there were a couple of loose dogs running around so be aware.

NOTE: Google tells you to turn on the street (Neil Creek Rd) just after the park so if you have a big rig then turning around could be difficult. Keep an eye out for the campground and turn into it directly from the main road instead.

All the office and maintenance staff were friendly and helpful and neighbors were friendly and quiet.  We didn't get the tweaker vibe mentioned in some previous reviews. This place is cute - maybe there are new owners (who changed the name from Glenyan to Ashland Creekside, maybe?) who are trying to turn things around.

Good cell service ATT, Verizon and TMobile.

Emigrant Lake Recreation Area - Oak Slope Campground

We drove through and chose not to stay

This portion of the camping area is called Oak Slope, the other being on the lake for RVs for residents displaced by fires.

For Oak Slope:   Imagine a steep tiered parking lot with narrow spaces. The whole campground is on a hill so the higher sites just look down on the lower sites. Most sites are visible from any other site. The sites were not very level and they were narrow, as was the loop. The campground also backs to private property. All sites are dirt with paved parking, with picnic tables and fire pits. Some pull throughs.

There were bathrooms, one of which someone decided to dump a washer and dryer at. There weren’t too many campers when we went but I can imagine that on a weekend it would be awful. It is close to the lake which has bathrooms and playground.

We did not stay here. We picked a spot but then changed our minds and then left. There is an RV dump here. Cell reception with ATT, Verizon and TMobile.

Ashland's Creekside Campground & RV Park

Great price, good vibe, loud road, bad showers

Good points: I think this is the cheapest campground with amenities near Ashland, only $27.50/night for a tent site with a water pump. The place didn't feel sketchy at all- although there are clearly some long term residents, it feels well-run and family friendly. Wifi was surprisingly fast and reached all the way over to the tent sites, and there is a place near the bathrooms to wash dishes. All tent sites were shady with large blackberry bushes providing privacy on three sides.

The not-so-good: the tent sites have a road right behind them that's often busy and loud. The showers in the women's restroom have unbelievably poor water pressure, and the water temp fluctuated from boiling to freezing for no reason unless you twitched the dial just right. Also, there's no place to hang a hammock near the tent sites but that's just a quibble.

    Rocky Point Resort

Great views of Lake... thats about it

4-5 pull thru sites. Pretty close together so the fire pit is a foot away from my slide out. There are some back in sites on the edges of the camp. Didn’t eat at the restaurant. Kayaks and paddle boats to rent. Staff are nice but hard to find at times. Bathrooms are clean but very rustic. Paid about $50 in April for full hookups- no cable, but has slow wifi.

    Waiiaka RV Park

Nice & Clean RV Park, Tight Spaces

I stayed at this park with my daughter and dog for one night while passing through.

The facilities are very clean, showers have nice hot water for a minimal fee.

The dog park is small, but well maintained with poop bags on site for your use.

The RV Park workers were fantastic, checked on us during set up to make sure we had what we needed.

There are obviously quite a few long term renters at the park, but they showed pride in there homes and area. Everyone’s areas were clean and orderly, and the park was incredibly quiet.

Only down side is the sites are tightly packed together. My door was only a couple off feet off of my neighbors hook ups. When the camper next to us packed up in the morning, we were outside by our door. The smell of sewage was pretty strong, we just went in our camper and waited for him to finish up.

Worth a stop for the money if your going to be in the area.

Rainbow Bay at Lake of the Woods

    Awesome destination spot

RV spots are decent. Partial & full hookups. Some spots, the fire pit is right next to the neighboring trailer. There is a dump station. Boat launch. Restaurant. Good swimming beach for kids. Friendly staff. Good spot, I'd go here again.

Emigrant Lake Recreation Area - Oak Slope Campground

    Great camping spot by lake!

Stayed at campsites 10 and 11 which had plenty of space, table and fire pit. Very close to restrooms which are clean. Lake access is a 5-7 min walk away so it’s very close. Campground is shaded so it helps with the sun and water slides (weren’t open) are maybe a 10 min walk away. RV camping is across the lake so no big rigs in this are which was nice.

    Southern Oregon RV Park

    Park with all the bells

We stay here often on our migration from PNW to the Desert for winter. It is a extremely well run park, with immaculate bathrooms and well groomed sites. Sites have concrete pad, fire pit and table with FHU. An easy off of Highway 5 and close to Costco and many restaurants. Small lake/pond with walking trail around and extra large Dog Park.

Guide to Phoenix

The Phoenix area of Oregon sits at approximately 1,500 feet elevation where the Rogue Valley meets the Cascade foothills. RV camping options near Phoenix span from riverside parks along the Rogue River to forested settings with mountain views. Temperatures range from warm, dry summers with highs in the 90s to mild winters where occasional freezing temperatures can affect campground water systems.

What to do

Fishing at nearby lakes: Southern Oregon RV Park features a small fishing lake on the property. "There is a walking bike trail that goes along Bear Creek to Ashland. I biked this but wouldn't recommend it for safety reasons," notes one camper, who also mentioned "fishing lakes, great place to stay" as a highlight.

Visit historic covered bridges: Sunny Valley Campground is located near a unique covered bridge. "The nearby covered bridge is neat to see," reports a camper who enjoyed this local landmark during their overnight stay in a 24-foot travel trailer.

River activities: Riverpark RV Resort provides direct Rogue River access. A visitor notes, "People float and boat by on the river, fishing. The City of Rogue River is a quaint town, small and friendly, and within walking distance of the campground." About 25 sites are positioned right on the river.

What campers like

Concrete pads for level parking: Southern Oregon RV Park features fully paved sites that campers appreciate. "The sites are level and each site has a picnic table and campfire space, as well as small lawn areas. The sites are a good distance from each other," according to one reviewer who found the park grounds "impeccable."

Clean facilities: Prospect RV Park (Crater Lake RV Park) maintains high cleanliness standards. A visitor comments, "Nice, fairly new restrooms and showers. The campsites for the most part have good separation." Another adds, "The bathrooms and showers were clean. The laundry was reasonably priced and convenient."

Community events: Prospect RV Park organizes special activities for guests. "Park hosted live music with bonfire in the evening with hotdogs and s'more," reports one camper. Another visitor elaborates: "To top it off they have a Saturday Campfire, with music, food and drink. Open to the camp. It's a great place to kick back and relax with some live music."

What you should know

Highway noise considerations: Some rv sites near Phoenix, Oregon experience traffic noise from I-5.
