Antelope Reservoir
Antelope Reservoir, near Jordan Valley, Oregon, is a free camping area that offers a laid-back experience right by the water. With picnic tables and fire rings available, it’s a solid spot for enjoying a meal outdoors or gathering around a fire under the stars.
The location features a couple of vault toilets, but be prepared—there’s no drinking water or electric hookups here. Many visitors have enjoyed the peacefulness of the area, with one camper noting, “It was completely quiet and serene the entire time.” Just keep in mind that it can get buggy in the evenings, so bring some repellent.
If you’re up for some exploration, there are additional camping spots further down the road, providing a bit more privacy. The scenery is pretty nice, with views of the reservoir and the chance to spot some wildlife, like pelicans and geese. Just remember, cell service can be spotty, especially with Verizon, so it’s a good idea to unplug and soak in the natural surroundings.
