Best RV Parks & Resorts near Proctor, OK

Several RV parks near Proctor serve as convenient bases for exploring eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Tenkiller Bluff RV Park offers full hookup sites with 30/50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Sites at Pappy's Riverside RV Park include water, electric, and sewer hookups with 30/50-amp service suitable for larger rigs. Wilderness Adventure RV Park provides electric, water, and sewer hookups in a quieter setting. Between the Illinois River and Highway 412, Pappy's Riverside offers spacious sites with room for slideouts. "Great location next to Illinois River if you want to kayak. Hosts very friendly and helpful. New park, nothing fancy but a work in progress reasonably priced," noted one camper.

Most RV parks in the area remain open year-round, though Natural Falls State Park tends to fill quickly during peak seasons. Access to several parks requires navigation along narrow country roads that can be challenging after rain. Dump stations are limited at smaller parks, with Marval Camping Resort being one of the few offering this service alongside a small market for supplies. Cell service varies considerably throughout the region, with stronger signals near Siloam Springs and weaker coverage in more rural locations. Many parks accommodate pets with designated walking areas, but specific breed restrictions may apply. Propane refill services are generally unavailable on-site, requiring trips to nearby towns for this necessity.

    Rocky Point (ft Gibson)

    Beautiful Lake Shore Campground

Ft Gibson Lake near Wagoner Oklahoma offers six class A campgrounds for RV and tent camping, six marinas, multiple boat ramps on 19,990 surface acres of lake with 225 miles of shoreline. Our visit was to Rocky Point COE with a gated/staffed entry station, multiple camp hosts, day use areas, boat ramps, interior paved roads, RV concrete pads, large table, fire ring, grill, lantern holder, 50/30/15 amp electric and water on class A sites plus tent camping sites complete with shelters, tables, fire rings, grills, dispersed water spigots. The campground had a dump station, bath house and several trash receptacles. Most sites were on the water or had a water view and adequately spaced to enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed site 2A which was a level pull through and big rig friendly. The rocky shoreline is a birders paradise...we had an eagle, three Great Blue Herons and plentiful hawks to name a few. The town of Wagoner has all the essentials to include grocery, fuel, dining and yes, Walmart. Verizon cell coverage was 1- 2 bars. The America The Beautiful Senior Pass is good for 50% camping discount. Recommend a look at Google Maps to plan your route into the campground from Oklahoma Hwy 69 as Garmin and Google are a little wacky. Just follow the signs!! 8568 STATE HWY. 251A, Wagoner, OK 74434 GPS- 36.027978,-95.314844

    Tulsa NE-Will Rogers Downs KOA

    Nice clean campground

Spent one night at this campground. Grounds were clean, restrooms and showers were also clean. The check in office was inviting and pleasing. We didn’t use the laundry facility while we were there, but they are available should the need arise. Bathrooms were locked and secure and passcode was required to enter. Passcode was provided upon check in. Our site was a pull through level gravel pad with full hookups. The off leash dog park was a small fenced in area with a couple of benches. Horse track and casino were well within walking distance from the camp sites. Quiet location, just off the highway. Highway could not be heard from inside our camper.

    Crossroads RV Park

    5 stars all around!

I currently stayed at Crossroads RV Park and I have to say it was one of the best tenting experiences I've had in a long time! The park is well-maintained and the sites are spacious and clean.

I specifically appreciated the drive-in access, making it easy to park proper next to my site. One of the things I loved about this campground is that it offers both tent sites and RV sites, making it accessible for all types of campers.

The electric and water hookups were reliable and the sewer hookups made it easy to take care of waste disposal. Plus, the pull-through sites and big rig friendly features were a definite bonus for those with larger vehicles.

The amenities at Crossroads RV Park were also great. The toilets were well-maintained and easily accessible, and there was even WiFi available(although the strength varied). I was pleasantly surprised to find that my Verizon and AT&T signals worked well at the park too. Lastly, I have to mention the friendly and helpful staff.

They were always available to answer questions and provide assistance when needed. Overall, I would highly recommend Crossroads RV Park to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience.

It's a wonderful place to stay, with a great location and fantastic amenities. I definitely recommend visit this park!

    5 stars all around!

    Sallisaw-Fort Smith West KOA

    Convenient to I-40

This is KOA, not my favorite place to stop, but they have good, basic facilities, sort of like Motel 6. They are just off I-40, so it was convenient for a one night stop. The sites were level, and were Pull-Thru so we didn’t even unhook. Full hookups, Some shade, a dump station. The shower/bathroom was clean. There is a small store. They also have cabins and tent sites; Free Wi-Fi, cable tv, a pool and playground, and a pond for fishing. There is a small Kamp K9 (dog park). When we were there everything was wet, and the smell of wet creosote from the log yard next door was terrible.

Sequoyah State Park - Marina and Cabins

    Nice campsites!

We had never been to Ft. Gibson Lake so we thought we'd give it a go... and we really enjoyed it. We stayed at Seminole Campground in Sequoyah State Park for two nights at the end of May and had a nice time. The camp host greeted us when we pulled in and gave us the low-down and provided us with maps on the campgrounds and the area.

The campground, was really nice. It was clean, well kept, and quiet. With only one road in and out you'd think the traffic my be kinda bad, but it wasn't. It probably helps that there's not a boat ramp directly in the campgrounds. The sites were spacious and included a nice level concrete pad, a concrete picnic table, a firepit, and a lantern hook. All the sites away from the shore had sewer connections. The ones closest to the water did not, but there's a dump station right outside the campground gate.

Being kayakers we like campgrounds that have easy water access and Seminole campground did not disappoint. The water level was up about 15-20' this particular weekend which made it easy to launch/land and with floating debris due to the water level we pretty much had the lake to ourselves. There are also hiking trails in the area including a paved walking trail.

There's a convenience store a couple of miles away for ice, beverages, etc. It's about 12 miles to the nearest Walmart to pick up those things you forget... we now have dedicated camper pillows.

Since I sometimes need to login to work, I'm always curious about the wifi. While the campground itself doesn't have wifi, I was able to turn on the hotspot feature on my phone and get connected without any problems. We have service through AT&T and didn't have any issues.

The camp host told us that this campground is one of the few that stay open year round so we may be back in the fall for a different view.

    Monte Ne RV Park

Friendly Staff Will Make You Wanna Come Back

When I came here I had but one reason to check out this area, the abandoned once amazing Monte Ne.  As a bit of a novice urban explorer I was intrigued by the history of this once giant which featured the first indoor swimming pool in the state, hosted a presidential function, boasted a gondola to ferry those visiting the facilities and was a part of a man’s manifesto of greatness.  Then it fell to hard times and eventually to ruin much like so many other locations.

So what makes this area so intriguing?  The ruin is now being slowly swallowed by Beaver Lake and the once grandiose walls are now somewhat of an embraced location for street art.

Rogers has several locations you can camp, but this is the closest to the site itself.  I was excited to check it out and as I drifted further and further away from the Rogers city it started to look more and more remote.  While there were some homes which scattered along the roadsides there wasn’t much in way of civilization.

Then I happened upon my location of the Monte Ne RV Park, a quaint and secluded space which embraces the peaceful location of Beaver Lake and makes for a perfect idealist setting for relaxing. While it isn’t the most updated campsite I had seen it by far was not the worst and the staff in the front more than made up for any short comings of some weary benches here and there.

The typical person staying here while traveling is enjoying hiking and fishing along with boating and other outdoor based activities.  It was a perfect location for access to the lake and though there were several people there, it didn’t seem crowded because the spaces are nice sized.  There are more than a few long term campers here as well and much like any campsite which allows long term camping you can tell the difference in the residence spaces as they have skirtings on their RVs and plants outdoors.

I was able to find a tent site and settled in and was very pleased that it was very quiet.  I met a couple that was also traveling and had been there a couple nights and they had said they had been out exploring a bit in the area and were quite pleased, even made a couple suggestions for me for my time at the location.

My site was typical in that it had a picnic table and fire ring.  It did include electricity, which typically I am not concerned with but it was nice to have so I could charge my devices and edit some video.

Closer to nightfall I noticed several people were outdoors using their grills and moving around because the temperatures were a bit better.  It was nice to see the community I was around and again the staff came around to check on everyone which was a very nice touch.

    The positives of this campground:

    • TENT, RV and CABIN options

    • Shady sites - on hot days this can make all the difference

    • Friendly Staff

    • Free WIFI

    • AT&T Good Signal

    The negatives of this campground:

    • Slightly outdated, needs some paint and some upgrades on some tables and benches

    • Trash - unfortunately when I drove in I noticed trash as one of the first things I saw, this looked like it had been tossed by people coming in and out instead of using trashcans

    • Bumpy Road

Well worth the stop to get to be so close to checking out Monte Ne.  If I was to return to Beaver Lake this would for sure be on my list again!!

    Cookson Bend

    Lake Front Camping

This is a lakeside campground with 2 primary sections terraced so that most campsites have at least a partial lake view. All sites are water/electric with sites 51 thru 57 offering 50 amp and the remaining sites 30 amp. Some of the 30 amp sites share water connections. There are 2 boat ramps and a playground. The dump station is just outside the gate and is in good working order. Cookson Bend has the potential to be a beautiful campground but lacks facility and grounds maintenance. Unfortunately, this is well below the COE's typical standards.

Guide to Proctor

RV parks near Proctor, Oklahoma sit at the western edge of the Ozark Plateau where the terrain transitions from rolling hills to flatlands. The area receives approximately 48 inches of rainfall annually, creating lush vegetation but occasionally challenging camping conditions after storms. Most campgrounds in this region remain accessible year-round with seasonal fluctuations in water levels affecting riverfront camping opportunities.

What to do

Mountain biking on Back 40 trails: At Blowing Springs RV Park & Campsites, campers enjoy direct access to extensive trail systems. "Perfect for the mountain bikers and hikers. Great location to access Bentonville," notes Nathan V., while another camper adds, "Such easy access to the Back 40 and Slaughter Pen mountain bike trails! We get on our bikes and ride all day and then come back and enjoy the peaceful campground!"

Illinois River kayaking: The waterways near Proctor provide excellent paddling opportunities. A visitor at Pappy's Riverside RV Park commented, "Great location next to Illinois River if you want to kayak. Lots of open area to tent camp. Very secluded. Loved watching fireflies over the hayfield."

Exploring local springs: Several campgrounds feature natural springs worth visiting. "Definitely hike back to Blowing Springs, LOTS of flowing water. The hiking trails up top are really pretty and surprising. I came across a cemetery up on a bluff, and found another small spring," shares Annie C., detailing the hidden gems accessible from the campground trails.

What campers like

Separate tent and RV areas: Some campgrounds organize their spaces thoughtfully. At Blowing Springs, "The tent sites are separate from the RV area, and RV's don't have to go through the tents to get to their area," explains a reviewer, adding that "the tent area is more or less a strip of mown grass with a few picnic tables and fire pits on either side of the road, with the creek and run off channels on either side."

Accessible bathrooms with amenities: RV - River Valley receives praise for its facilities: "Includes washer & dryer, shower 24/7 right next to camp sites," notes one visitor, highlighting the convenience for extended stays.

Proximity to small towns: Several campers appreciate how campgrounds provide rural seclusion while maintaining access to necessities. "10 minutes outside of Siloam Springs but you wouldn't be able to tell. Try Pour Jons Coffee while you are there, never disappoints!" shares one RV - River Valley guest.

What you should know

Navigation challenges: Finding some campgrounds requires careful planning. At Logan Cave RV & Varnadoe Ranch, "it is hard to find with GPS directions, so be sure and make contact with the owner concerning directions... Entrance street is dirt and quite narrow and bumpy and in not clearly marked."

Site conditions vary significantly: Surface quality and levelness differ between parks. "There are pull through sites and full hookups. $38 a night for that... The roads within the park are pretty rough, I was cringing while trying to find my spot," reports one camper about Southgate RV Park.

Campground development stages: Several parks near Proctor are relatively new and evolving. A camper at Pappy's Riverside noted, "New park, nothing fancy but a work in progress reasonably priced. Met our needs."

Tips for camping with families

Resort-style amenities for children: Marval Camping Resort offers numerous family activities. "This place has everything, movie theater, horse riding, a train that goes around the park, golf carts, tons of activities for the entire family... Swimming pool and all... We go every chance we get, my kids love it," shares one satisfied parent.

Picnic facilities for gatherings: Communal spaces enhance family camping experiences. "There are two areas in a big field that have picnic furniture and available for anyone to use," mentions a Southgate RV Park visitor, providing options for larger group meals outside individual campsites.

Seasonal activity planning: School breaks affect campground availability and atmosphere. "There are special event weekends where the rate is $50 for the weekend. This weekend is graduation weekend so the lot was full," notes a Southgate visitor, highlighting the importance of booking ahead during university events.

Tips from RVers

Hookup specifications: RV parks near Proctor offer varying levels of service. "Sites at Wilderness Adventure RV and Cabin park include electric, water, and sewer hookups in a quieter setting," while Tenkiller Bluff RV Park provides "personal fire-pit & free firewood" with their sites.

Parking surface considerations: Site composition affects leveling and stability. "Sites are pretty level with a small concrete pad for wheels," notes one RVer about Southgate, while another mentions, "Some sites had a paved pad but most are gravel."

Location-specific conveniences: Strategic campground selection enhances activities. "It's only a half mile from the Barnicle Bills Marina and boat ramp. Perfect place to rest after a day of water fun!" explains a Tenkiller Bluff visitor, emphasizing how proximity to attractions can maximize recreation time.
