      Camp Doris

      Great Central Location

Stayed here for a couple days in late April. Reserve in advance if possible. We chose a spot near the lake and were able to fish and canoe right from our campground. Plentiful shade and good amenities including showers, concrete picnic tables, fire rings, and firewood for sale at the check in station. Cell service was basically non existent with Verizon, and given the frequency of severe weather in Oklahoma it’s important to be weather aware. We were not and the park ranger luckily notified us of severe warnings. Wildlife is abundant throughout the park and has free range even in the campground, we saw longhorns 20 yards from our site. Would revisit again.

The Point Campground — Chickasaw National Recreation Area

      Well spaced sites and quiet!

Really beautiful scenery; the sites are pretty well spaced with the upper loop being better for larger RVs and the lower loop more for tent and car camping. Sites are extremely well maintained and the campground is very peaceful. We stayed in 42 which only had one neighbor but our fav site was 54. It is farther out than Buckhorn but closer proximity to a wal mart and just perfect for us. Buckhorn is busier.

      Creekside Cabins and RV Park

      Quiet and comfortable

The property has 12 RV lots and 4 cabins. It also has water and sewer hookups. It is nice and quiet here and not a lot of light or noise polution either.

Guy Sandy Campground — Chickasaw National Recreation Area

I just wanted to emphasize. This is closed and probably has been for a few years

The location is great. The view of the lake is great. And there's access down below for boats, but this campground disclosed and it looks like it has been for a while, so plan accordingly.

The Point Campground — Chickasaw National Recreation Area

      Nicest campground in the park

Unique campground covering a hill, but with numerous views of the lake. Really? Like the walk in tent sites, I think they're quiet and private and really well laid out. Has all the amenities of formal campground, including a very nice bathroom.

      Doris Campground

      Tons of wildlife

Visited first week of November 2025 during the government shutdown. Campground and all trails were open. Visitors center and environmental education center were closed. There was a camp host on site. All bathrooms were being maintained. PLEASE NOTE THE CAMPGROUND MAP ON THE FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE WEBSITE IS OUTDATED. I booked site 22 to be close to the restrooms and showers only to find out the building no longer existed. The area marked “Restroom & Shower Complex” is dirt. Also the two restrooms directly across from site 34 no longer existed either. I attached a picture with red Xs marking those out. The area marked “Central Restroom” is the only restroom with running water, flush toilets, and showers. All other restrooms on the map are vault toilets. Campground had lots of trees that made the sites feel a little more private even though some sites were close together. There are 4 individual shower rooms. Water was warm and it seemed that both the central bathroom and showers were heated. Firewood bundles and ice available on the backside of the campground entrance station. Cash only and self pay. So much wonderful wildlife. Take the time during the first hour of sunrise and the last hour before sunset to drive around to look at wildlife. I was able to see elk, deer, turkeys, and of course the bison and longhorns which are out and about all day.

      Turner Falls Park

      Turner falls

Fun area with waterfall, camping, swimming, and zip lines. You have to pay to enter the park and than you have access to everything inside including restaurants and stores. It can get real loud in here as people tend to have music playing loud ALL DAY. The trails are awesome, there is even a cave in an off the trail area back behind the bathrooms at the waterfall. Stay in the wash out area and hike up a ways and than off to your left you climb this up hill rock boulder up to the cave. I'd ask for directions. There are trails back there to that take you up the creek above the waterfall. It's a big area
