    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

    Silver Springs Campground

Great for the price and location

Stayed here to be close to the NP and it is a great little campground for a reasonable price. Big dog park with pond on the other side of the park. Sites are uneven but my favorite part was the wooded path.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

    Salt Fork State Park Campground

The right side of the fork

Dog park!! and right on the lake!! Found this by mistake on our way out, and the dogs loved it. Access to lake, a beach, well fenced. I would give Salt Fork SP extra stars for this one, especially if there were campsites co-located.

Camp ground is easily accessible being just 6 miles from I70, leaving the convenience of Cambridge and city amenities close by while allowing for great trails and solitude. Stayed in campground A, and the front end has little shade, but being here in autumn was perfect for lots of sunshine on site. Sites with trees for tree tents is minimal. Drinking fountains are dispersed fairly frequently throughout campground, but RV hookups with water were limited during my stay. Shower houses and comfort houses all have flushers and sinks.

TICK WARNING!!!! After a morning hike down wooded Trail, we spent A LONG TIME pulling ticks from dogs...even though the temps were in the 30's overnight and everyone was treated with flea & tick protection.

Guide to Dundee

Camping near Dundee, Ohio provides access to Amish Country's rolling hills and rural landscapes at an elevation of approximately 1,100 feet. Summer temperatures typically range from 60-85°F, while winter camping requires preparation for temperatures that can drop below freezing. The area's campgrounds cluster along State Route 39 and US Route 62, creating convenient access points for exploring local attractions.

What to do

Horseback riding excursions: At Canton/East Sparta KOA Holiday - Bear Creek Ranch, guests can experience guided trail rides. "Took the kids on the horse ride and they loved it. All staff were very friendly," notes Bradley B., making this dog-friendly campground near Dundee popular with families seeking outdoor activities.

Fishing opportunities: The fishing lake at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park offers anglers a chance to cast their lines, though success varies. Chuck E. reports, "I tried fishing in the fishing lake and came up empty. At first I thought this was a 'me' problem, but I did not witness anyone catch a fish. I saw one person catch a turtle."

Water recreation: Swimming and boating options abound at Atwood Lake Park Campground, where waterfront sites provide direct access. Susan S. shares, "Docks available 50' from out waterfront lot. We could leave our camper, take the boat over to the beach and drop off the grandkids and me the Nana for swimming at the beach dock."

What campers like

Clean, private shower facilities: Many pet-accommodating campgrounds maintain exceptional bathroom facilities. Kenny C. notes about Berlin RV Park & Campground: "Restroom/shower facilities are excellent. There are three showers in each of the mens and womens sides. Each shower has a locking door and a sink. Everything was very clean."

Seasonal activities: Winter camping provides unique experiences at some dog friendly campgrounds near Dundee. Andrea F. writes about Evergreen Park: "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. There were only 3 other campers there. The game room was nice as well as the indoor pool."

Grassy areas for pets: Dog owners appreciate dedicated pet spaces at campgrounds like Scenic Hills RV Park. Noel L. shares their experience: "Asked for a shaded area...got a perfect one that had shade all day. Friendly and helpful staff. Free firewood. Very clean and well kept park."

What you should know

Site spacing varies significantly: Some campgrounds feature tightly arranged sites. Mark S. observes about Amish Country Campsites: "We stayed here twice in August 2020 when passing through Ohio. We had a small popup camper and a three person tent. We set up in the tent area and had plenty of room for our gear and two cars."

Seasonal considerations: While many campgrounds operate from April through November, Evergreen Park RV Resort remains open year-round, providing winter camping options. Beth G. notes, "We stayed at Evergreen a few days following Memorial Day weekend, so the holiday crowd was gone. Beautiful, and I mean beautiful park. It rained and rained most of our visit. No mud puddles, not even at water hook up."

Location benefits: Proximity to Amish Country attractions adds value to camping stays. Craig T. writes about Berlin RV Park & Campground: "We enjoyed 2 nights in this well maintained park... The campground was quiet and located just a couple miles from Berlin."

Tips for camping with families

Playground accessibility: When traveling with children to pet-welcoming campgrounds, check for play areas. Chelsea M. recommends Clay's Resort: "The activities here are endless! Consider site locations carefully: When camping with children near noisy areas, request specific sites. Atwood Lake Park visitor Leslie C. mentions, "My kids and I have been coming to Atwood for the last 10 years. We look forward to it every summer. The people are friendly and there is always something to do!"

Tips from RVers

Hookup placement: RVers should note that utility connections may require extended hoses or cords at some campgrounds. Earl B. comments on Scenic Hills RV Park: "The one and only issue is that water and electricity is located in the rear area of RV, while sewer connections are toward the front. I personally used 50' of water line and 30' of sewer line."

Leveling challenges: Some sites require additional equipment for proper leveling. Craig T. notes about Berlin RV Park, "We had difficulty leveling one night in lot 3 but traded to #4 the next night and did fine. The many pull thru lots looked like a good level base."

Seasonal access: RVers seeking dog-friendly campgrounds near Dundee during colder months should verify which facilities remain operational. Andrea F. recommends Evergreen Park for winter trips: "Will definitely be on the go to list for winter camping."
