What to do
Fishing opportunities: At Indian Lake State Park Campground, campers can access both the main lake and a stocked fishing pond. "The camp store is nice except the firewood was terrible. Shooting sports: Cardinal Center Campground offers extensive shooting facilities. "We have visited the Cardinal Center several times for shooting and waterfowl events but did camp there for the first time over Thanksgiving. Boating access: Buck Creek State Park Campground provides multiple water access points for kayakers. "We also used the camper beach but to the left of it to launch our kayaks. Which was nice because you could back up to the pathway and park. Then drag your kayak down a short trail to the water," shares Melissa M.

Tips for RVers
Site leveling: Prepare for some uneven terrain at campgrounds throughout the region. "The sites and road were gravel. Our site was wooded with nice shade," notes Renee L. about Cardinal Center Campground.
Hookup variations: Pastime Campground offers different utility options across their sites. "There are 38 grass sites that are a bit snug, but mostly pleasant. New in June 2019 are 18 gravel padded sites, with lots of space. All sites are W/E. All the new gravel sites and half the grass ones have 50/30/20A electric, the rest are 30/20A," explains Ron G.
Pet-friendly trails: For those traveling with dogs, Berkshire Campgrounds offers dedicated pet areas. "This place is huge, tons of paths for walking and exploring. Our favorite part was the off leash dog trails that were a perfect place to let the pup run. We have struggled at some parks where the pet areas are very restrictive," mentions jess.
