We have seen the most beautiful sunsets here that you won't see anywhere else. There is an eagles nest on one of the islands. If you take your boat or rent one at the marina you can go out on the lake and you will see eagles for sure," notes AnnaMarie S.
Bird watching near camp: Camping in the Jefferson area offers chances to spot diverse bird species. A camper at Linesville Campground — Pymatuning State Park shares, "Birders will enjoy the variety of species found here including Bald eagles, Orioles, Osprey, Prothonotary warblers, Yellow warblers, Great blue herons, Kingbirds, Kingfishers and many others."
Visit local attractions: The unusual Pymatuning Spillway is worth the trip. "We rode our bikes out of the grounds and through town a little to the Pymatuning Spillway trail. The trail head was a bit of a challenge to find. We entered behind the church in town," explains Joni P., adding that at the spillway you can "feed the carp."

Large wooded sites: Geneva State Park offers spacious camping areas. Sara S. explains, "The site was large, wooded, and well maintained. The facilities were very clean as well. There is a bike trail, hiking trails, and the beach is near. Kids were entertained by the park and adults were content."
Clean facilities: Jeffco Lakes Campground receives praise for its maintenance. A visitor mentions, "The grounds were clean and well kept. Bathrooms were clean and had plenty of hot water for showers. The Bathrooms also had a book exchange."
Lakefront views: Many campers value the scenic lakeside locations. At Pymatuning State Park Campground, Joseph S. reports, "Very big spaces. Only a few full hook ups. Have to drive to fish, swim etc... minutes from Geneva on the lake. Was able to use military discount. If we were in the area again, we would stay here."
What you should know
Site drainage: Some campgrounds can get muddy after rain. At Jamestown Campground, Dave B. notes, "Started the stay off a little rocky with two big thunderstorms the first two days. Our site had a wash run right through it."
