Grand River, Ohio campgrounds offer diverse accommodation options along the banks of the Grand River and within 15 miles of Lake Erie shoreline. The area sits at roughly 620-700 feet above sea level with a humid continental climate featuring warm summers and cold winters. RV campers can expect primarily gravel pad sites throughout the region with many parks operating seasonally from spring through fall.
What to do
Fishing opportunities: The Farm at Grand River provides access to river fishing with basic amenities. "My 6 year old daughter lived her farm animal dream life for a week! The hosts were so accommodating. My daughter loved the free movie nights under stars, running wild with the goats, and the play grounds and play houses kept her busy for hours!" writes Hillz M.
Lake activities: Perry Township Park offers direct Lake Erie access with a private beach area for swimming. "We were a little worried about getting in on a June weekend, but surprisingly, it did not fill up. $15/night for a tent site with showers and it was a great site along the woods with a nice flat area and could still see the lake," notes K H.
Disc golf courses: Punderson State Park Campground features an on-site disc golf course along with other recreational facilities. "The park is beautiful. Opportunities for disc golf, archery range, canoing/kayaking/row boats, swimming (no lifeguard) and golf," shares Rebecca G.
What campers like
Spacious sites: Hidden Lakes Family Campground receives praise for its well-spaced camping areas. "This campground was exactly what I was looking for, a quiet campground with a large campsite. Our site was lakeside and was probably the largest campsite I ever stayed in," states Greg K.
Lakeside views: Many campers appreciate the waterfront locations at Perry Township Park. "Got in after dinner and luckily we were just car camping, because we got (in our opinion) the best site there! 23 has a great shot of the lake, nice cinder blocks built up to block any wind from the fire pit," explains Blythe B.
Clean facilities: Kenisee's Grand River Campground maintains well-kept bathrooms and shower facilities. "It's a great place with a lot of events and entertainment for family's. Multiple fishing ponds, Friday night bingo, bands, fishing tournament for kids, duck race, Christmas in July and many other activities. Many amenities and very clean bathrooms and showers," reports Kent R.

Internet connectivity: Cell service varies significantly between campgrounds. Site variations: Campsite quality and levelness differ considerably within the same campground. "The lots are not even close to level. You will need a lot of blocks to get close to level. Saw one RV with auto levelers with his tire about foot off the ground," warns Coy about Punderson State Park.

Tips from RVers
Hookup specifics: Full hookup sites with 50-amp service are available at select campgrounds but not universally. "The camp is beautiful. Opportunities for disc golf, archery range, canoeing/kayaking/row boats, swimming (no lifeguard) and golf. Only a few sites were full hookup," explains Rebecca G. about Punderson State Park.
Site leveling: Roundup Lake RV Resort offers relatively level sites for larger rigs. "We camped in a 33' TT in a pull through site. Sites are close but shady and large enough for trailer and our truck. Most sites looked pretty level. Ours sloped up toward the road, but our trailer was not long enough for it to be an issue," shares Mike A.
Dust conditions: Unpaved roads can create dusty conditions during dry periods. "The road are mostly dirt and dusty, but didn't bother me. It was worse when it rained and everything was muddy when we were trying to leave," notes Greg K. about Hidden Lakes Family Campground.
