Swimming at Jellystone Parks: Clay's Resort Jellystone Park offers water recreation options including a water park with ziplines. "The activities here are endless! Fishing, volleyball, basketball, kayaking, zip lining in water with swimming (15break every 45 min), mini golf, bounce trampoline pad, cornhole, etc! So much for every age," writes Chelsea M. at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park.
Fishing in Mogadore Reservoir: Countryside Campground provides access to Mogadore Reservoir for fishing and kayaking. "There is a nice path through the woods down to the reservoir, where you can fish and kayak," reports Kathryn P. The path connects to the Buckeye Trail, allowing visitors to hike down to the water.

Sunrise and sunset views: Maple Lakes Campground offers scenic views over multiple lakes. "Sunsets over the lakes are beautiful. Nice public restrooms. Dogs are allowed for no additional fee. Great pool and activities," shares Penny G. about Maple Lakes Campground.
Free rustic camping: The Rivers Edge Camping Area offers no-cost sites for hikers and cyclists. "Shhhhhh…these campsites seem to be the best kept secret! Located near the Bridgeport Quarry Trailhead about 2.5 miles north of Massillon, OH in the Stark County Parks District. These sites are specifically designed for hikers/cyclists. Camping is dispersed in a small grassy field and is FREE!" explains Shari G.
Dedicated dog facilities: Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA includes multiple dog parks for pet exercise. "We had a nice time with our kids, friends and dogs. The dog park was a bonus... we camped right next to it. perfect! playground, big open area and a nice pool!" notes Christy D. at Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA.
What you should know
Weather considerations: Sites can become muddy after rainstorms, particularly at Silver Springs. "We stayed overnight and arrived after a big storm passed through. Our grassy site had some muddy spots, but the site was big enough that we were able to avoid the mud," reports Karla J. B. at Silver Springs Campground.
Bathroom facilities vary: Some campgrounds have limited facilities. Regarding Silver Springs, Lauren notes, "Vaulted toilets which were very clean and we could also use what seemed to normally be the bathrooms affiliated with sporting fields which have hot water and flush toilets."
Noise levels: Street noise affects some campgrounds. Rivers Edge Camping Area has "Lots of Road Noise" according to Shari G., while Streetsboro campers report wildlife disturbances: "Every night we were visited by raccoons, they stole our trash on the first night but the other nights we kept everything out of their reach," warns Traci F.
Tips for camping with families
Amish Country proximity: Evergreen Park RV Resort provides access to Amish Country attractions. "The campground is right in the middle of Amish Country so there's plenty of beautiful scenery, lots of shopping, wonderful roadside produce and cheese stands and other tourist hotspots so you won't be bored," shares Bob R. about Evergreen Park RV Resort.
Activities for various ages: Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park-Akron/Canton offers programmed children's activities. "They have an activity barn where you can make diff crafts (a fee for the nicer ones of course). Our kids did a few of the included crafts and seemed to enjoy them," explains Dawn R. The park also features "rides around the park on a wagon, a firetruck ride, yogi bear visits, food truck Fridays, bingo, daily flag raising, scavenger hunts, etc."
Local food options: Visit nearby butcher shops for fresh grilling supplies. Regarding Countryside Campground, Tommy K. suggests, "There is a local butcher shop right around the corner and they have an incredible selection to choose from."
Tips from RVers
Site selection: Look for level sites when booking. "We stayed on site LV27. Great location, but not even close to level. Seemed to be the only site with this issue," notes Chuck E. about Clay's Resort Jellystone Park.
Premium site benefits: Consider upgrading at busy campgrounds. At Maple Lakes, "Deluxe Red Carpet with a pop up. Highly recommend close proximity to bathrooms and showers. Spacious! Concrete slab with full hookup and straw instead of mud/grass," recommends Chelsea M.
Overnight access tips: Late arrivals should confirm check-in procedures. "They were accommodating to our late arrival and left a map and gate key at the office for the late arrivers. The site was level and easy to hook up to," explains Scott C. about the Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA.
