Jones Station RV Park in Mebane features spacious pull-through sites with full hookups including water, sewer, and electric connections. Cane Creek Campground and RV Park in Snow Camp provides 50-amp service, water and sewer hookups with additional amenities like a market and dump station. Spring Hill RV Park in Chapel Hill offers both 30-amp and 50-amp service with level gravel sites spaced throughout a wooded setting. Most RV parks in the region provide basic amenities such as trash service and picnic tables, though availability of additional services like showers and laundry facilities differs significantly between locations. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the area, with one camper noting, "For those that care about working on laptop or streaming TV while camping, our cellphone hotspots worked great." Seasonal considerations include tree coverage, with some parks offering shaded sites that provide relief during summer months but may present challenges for satellite reception. Pet policies are typically accommodating, though breed restrictions exist at some locations.

Deep River Campground And RV Park

      Clean,affordable, and friendly staff

Took a weekend trip to Deep River Campground in Asheboro, NC. Very well kept, level spots, pet friendly, big rig friendly with pull through and back-in sites available. Full hook-ups (50 & 30 amp). Fire pit and picnic tables at each site. About $40 a night, no deposit required. With weekly and monthly rates as well. 2 pools (currently closed due to covid), game room, store, and private pond. Located minutes away from multiple trail heads. We were on lot 20, which is a double space designed for a larger rig, very private with lots of shade.

Crosswinds Campground — Jordan Lake State Recreation Area

      Awesome State Park

This was our very first full-time RV park. We loved being in the park and it easily accommodated our 39ft. Class A. Back-in site but with plenty of room to do so. Each site has water and electric hook-up. Sewer however is a dump station. The sites are big with a picnic table, fire pit and lantern hook. Plenty to do here with the lake at your fingertips. Great first experience.

Deep River Campground And RV Park

      Unlevel & messy

We made a mistake. My wife and I are moving to North Carolina, and we were looking for a place to stay for a month in the Asheboro area. I checked around and Deep River was the only local campground with long-term sites available, so I made the reservation. The owner, Scott, was very helpful throughout the reservation process and we thought we were going to have a good experience.

When we showed up, Scott met us at the office and he took us to the "most level site" he had available. I was a little concerned from the start because the sewer pipe was sitting at a 45 degree angle and it was half buried in the ground. I had to help dig out the pipe and when I looked inside I noticed the connection was broken and any drainage would  have leached directly into the ground. Additionally, the sewer connection was more than 40 feet from the center of the site and I only carry 30 feet of line, so we had to back way up in order to hook-up. Unfortunately, that meant that our primary slide was within 3 feet of a giant pine tree so there was barely enough room to open it. Another problem with being so far back in the site was how unlevel the camper was. It took a while for me to get the trailer unhitched and by the time I had it nearly level, I had used all of my blocks and the jack was extended to the maximum height. Needless to say, I did not feel very comfortable with the arrangement and I was really starting to question whether or not to stay.

Then I started looking around at the site and there was trash everywhere with broken pieces of metal and half chewed dog bones strewn about. I looked at my wife and I could tell she was not happy. So I got on my phone, called another campground and made reservations. Scott was understanding, he tried to talk us into trying another site but by that time we had decided to move on. I will give Scott credit, he didn't charge us a cancellation fee, so that was good.

A quick note, the WiFi was limited to close to the office and we would have had to pay Spectrum for a monthly internet connection. Also, Verizon cell coverage was weak.

      Jordan Dam RV Park

      Great no frills campground.

We stayed at Jordan Dam RV Park for a year while waiting for our house to be built.  The campground is a great, quiet place.  There are not a lot of recreational amenities, but there is pond for fishing.  The site maintenance man, Earl, will direct you into your site, which was a bit tricky in the site we were in.

The RV Park has on-site propane filling, and if you leave your tank on your picnic table, Earl will come and fill it.  This was extremely convenient during the winter months, when we were filling one of our tanks every few days.

If you are looking for someplace close to Jordan Dam boat launch, or are looking for a long term site, this is for you.

Poplar Point Campground — Jordan Lake State Recreation Area

      Family Friendly Lake Jordon

Poplar Point Campground at Jordan Lake quickly became one of my family’s favorite spots, offering the perfect mix of nature and convenience just outside Raleigh. With over 500 shaded sites, many right along the shoreline, the kids had room to play while we enjoyed peaceful lake views and easy access to boating, kayaking, and fishing. The campground has plenty of family-friendly touches from playgrounds, picnic tables, fire rings, and boat ramps along with water and electric hookups at most sites, though I learned that some loops have cleaner bathhouses than others. Bald eagles overhead, herons by the water, and fiery sunsets made it feel like we were far from the city, yet Apex and Pittsboro were just a short drive away when we needed a meal or groceries. My tips: aim for a lakefront site in Loops C, F, or G, pack serious bug spray for summer, and plan to catch at least one sunset across the water as it’s the kind of view the kids will remember long after the trip.

Holly Point — Falls Lake State Recreation Area

      Great campground

The North Carolina State Park campgrounds are typically very nice, and this one is no exception. My site is adjacent to a large, clean, working bathhouse and a 2 minute walk from a swim beach.

My cell reception outside the camper is excellent, and of if I had a cell booster it would be adequate for streaming inside the camper. I don’t have one as I depend on Starlink for internet access when traveling. Unfortunately Starlink isn’t going to work in my specific site or in most of the others. This is a wooded campground and all the sites are completely shaded

My site has water and electric. About half of the available RV sites have water and electric, it there is no sewer. There is a dump station in the campground. Unusual for NC State facilities, there are no trash bins placed around the campground, but there is a large dumpster station co-located with the dump station.

It’s about a 15-20 minute drive to shopping, but there are several convenience stores a few minutes away.

The campground is clean and well maintained. It meanders around a very large lake, with several beaches and boat launch areas.

      Jordan Dam RV Park

      Exceptional RV Parking Campground

While a bit out-of-the-way, if you’ve got one of those incredibly large mobile homes on wheels, then this particular well-shaded, quiet and rural RV location just off of HWY 1near Moncure and quite near majestic Jordan Lake may just be the perfect spot for you.

With ample slanted and elongated parking lanes for your parking pleasure, all of the sites come equipped with the typical 30/ 50 amp electrical hook-ups, waste disposal and water connections. There’s the standard picnic table, fire ring/BBQ, garbage receptacles and even a community BBQ.  There are both well-shaded sites as well as those that don't have any.  My personal recommendation would be to get one further in the back nearest the pond (where you'll actually find real ducks!).

The hosts are incredibly nice and offer pricing by the night, week and month. Overall, the community is inviting and friendly and there’s at times some planned activities throughout the week (check with the front desk). While there's not a whole lot of commerce in these parts, nearby there is Ray's Supermarket, Jordan Dam Mini-Mart/Grill and a host of restaurants and stores over in Pittsboro. There's free WiFi, laundry service, propane tank onsite as well as little store on the campground premises itself and even a small fish pond.

      Happy Camping!

      North Carolina State Fairgrounds

      Over-Priced Parking lot !

I have stayed there twice over the past couple years.  The only changes to this Campground are the Prices !!  ..which keep going up (to $35 day now).  For this, you get a parking space with full hookups.. that's it, no Amenities whatsoever!

It's pretty much a "Camper Trap", because there are so few options in the North Carolina Piedmont.  Spaces are tight, a lot of the people there are long-term workers, that totally ignore any "Dust" decorum, speeding through the area as if they were on public streets!

Great Campsites, nice wooded sites and close to lake access. Great hiking trails and very family friendly. Deer walked right behind our site. Boat ramp in campground. Swim area and playground.
