The campground sits directly on the river, offering convenient water access. "The river is beautiful and the site was huge. We did some fishing and swimming," reports Michele S. Many sites are positioned right along the water for easy access.
Hiking nearby trails: Just 15 minutes north of Moose Hillock Camping Resorts, the Inman Pond Trail offers an easy walk through the woods leading to a fishing pond. Hikers can access both the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail from many nearby campgrounds.
Swimming and beach access: The swimming areas at most campgrounds range from natural river beaches to developed lake facilities. At Woodford State Park Campground, "There's a small reservoir with a little beach that you can swim or kayak/canoe in. What campers like

It's very woodsy between sites, so it seems very private," explains Michi P. The natural vegetation creates separation without sacrificing accessibility.
Clean facilities: Multiple campgrounds maintain high standards for bathrooms and common areas. "The bathrooms were the cleanest campground bathrooms I've ever seen!" reports a visitor to Woodford State Park. Similarly, at Lake George RV Park, campers note the exceptional maintenance: "The campground is so clean and nice! Perfect for the dogs with best dog park I ever saw. Pools and hot tubs extremely clean and the grounds looked more like a hotel resort than campground."
Seasonal activities: The region offers distinct experiences depending on when you visit. "We used to go here when my brother was living in Albany. Stop by Saratoga Springs on your way north! It's a small park but there is a lot to enjoy on site and even more nearby. Very wooded. Hiking trails become nice XC skiing trails," notes Amber A. about Moreau Lake State Park.
