Best RV Parks & Resorts near Getzville, NY

RV parks near Getzville provide a range of full hookup options for motorhomes and travel trailers. Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday offers 213 sites with 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer hookups, operating from April through October. The campground features level pull-through sites with concrete patios. ["Our site was a large pull thru, nice & level and had plenty of comfortable space between it and the neighboring sites," noted one visitor.] Southwoods RV Resort in Byron provides 50-amp full hookup sites on gravel pads with good spacing between units, while DINO RV Campground in Cheektowaga accommodates big rigs with water, electric, and sewer connections. Niagara Hartland RV Resort in Gasport operates seasonally from mid-May through mid-October with 30/50 amp service.

Most RV parks in the region require advance reservations, particularly during summer months and fall foliage season. Dump stations are available at all full-service parks, though some state parks like Four Mile Creek offer electric-only sites with centralized dump facilities. Cell service varies considerably across the area, with several reviewers noting strong Verizon coverage but spotty AT&T reception at outlying campgrounds. Pet policies differ between facilities - state parks typically require proof of rabies vaccination while private RV resorts maintain designated pet areas. Road access to most parks accommodates large rigs, though several reviews mention railroad noise at parks near train tracks. Winter camping options are limited, with AA Royal Motel & Campground being one of the few year-round facilities in the Buffalo-Niagara region.

    Evangola State Park Campground

Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie

    Unfortunately, my site did not.

However, my site wasn't crowded and the electricity was reliable. This campground has three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping. There are several places to get water in the camp, so be sure to fill up your tanks before you park. There is a dump station. None of the sites are full hook up.

Each site has a picnic table and a grill.

There are two bath houses. The newer one - between loops one and three - also has laundry facilities.

Your payment for your campsite entitles you to admission to the beach, which is a hike or a drive away.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Simple campground on Lake Ontario

We stayed here because it was near Niagara Falls and had site availability. We stayed at a non-electric campsite (mid-June). There were 4 other campsites occupied in our area. We have a camper van with solar power and fresh water. There is a shower in the non-electric section but it's not heated water. Since it's June, the temperature was only mildly shocking to my senses. However, the rest of the showers in the campground are heated (we checked). There are at least two laundry facilities. I actually exchanged cash for quarters at the front office. The grounds are well maintained. Beware of the resident skunk that walks around. I didn't test the cell signal here but I was able to work remotely and video chat.

    Cinderella Motel & Campsite

Basic, Convenient, VFM (value for money)

This campground is very basic with very close campsites.  The bathhouse and laundry are old but clean.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  It is very close to Niagara falls and for the money it is the best campground here.  KOA and Branches CGs are nicer but they are also triple the price which for us did not seem worth it.  We were in a back in gravel site that backed up to the motel which may not seem that nice but the electric, water and sewer worked perfectly.  Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare.  There were sites that were on the outskirts of the property that backed to the woods which some people may prefer.  Those sites were just as close although there were several that would take big rigs bit don't expect to open your awnings in most sites.   There is a nice grassy area in the center with a small covered pavilion.   There are a few sites on the side/front of Motel.  We were here to visit Niagara Falls so location and a basic campground with full hookups was all we were looking for and this campground fit our needs perfectly.  We would stay here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

An old campsite that fits our needs

This is not a resort campground nor is it a campground built for escapism. It’s very close to Niagara Falls, the Rainbow Bridge (for driving into Canada), and Buffalo, NY.

Mike is very friendly; check in was easy. The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. Your site is assigned once you arrive. You pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest when you arrive.

They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week’s stay.

The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night.

The facilities could use some work. They are very old, and it’s hard to tell if they are clean or just old. Laundry is available - $2.50 a wash/$1.75 a dry.

Basically, don’t expect a beautiful vacation campground. I work full time remotely from the camper. I was able to work during the days and get to Niagara Falls, CAN, and Buffalo quickly after work. Even with the discount, which I’m thankful for, it is overpriced for what it is. But it served my needs, I felt safe, and the owner was friendly so 3 stars. With some TLC to the sites and the facilities, I’d give it 4.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

    Good location

This campground is open year around which is really hard to find in this area. We needed to come here for personal reasons before any other campground was opened. So far this isn’t bad could be better/ cleaner.

It is 50 amp full hook up with free Wi-Fi that doesn’t suck.

The site are paved level back ins and pull throughs

The staff was nice enough. Haven’t had much interaction with him.

There is a great Italian store right across the street and Niagara Falls down the road. I would stay here in a pinch again

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

Guide to Getzville

Campgrounds near Getzville, New York sit within western New York's varied terrain, approximately 15 minutes northeast of Buffalo. The region experiences four distinct seasons with camping typically available from mid-April through October. Winter weather makes most RV sites near Getzville inaccessible from November through March, with seasonal closures common across nearly all campgrounds.

What to do

Amusement park access: Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday offers direct access to a neighboring amusement park, providing entertainment options within walking distance. "Fun activities for all ages of children. Clean facilities," notes one visitor about the family-friendly atmosphere.

Water recreation: Southwoods RV Resort provides two swimming pools for guests seeking water activities without traveling to Niagara Falls. "2 well kept pools, playgrounds, laundry facilities, mini golf, soccer, basketball. The employees are so helpful and nice!" shares a Southwoods RV Resort camper.

Historic exploration: The region offers opportunities to explore local history within short driving distance. "Close to the birthplace of Jello," mentions one camper at Frost Ridge RV Park, highlighting the unique local attractions accessible from Getzville area campgrounds.

What campers like

Rural setting: Camping options include quieter spots away from urban noise. "The campground is about 20-25 miles from downtown Rochester and located in a quiet rural setting surrounded by farmland," explains a visitor about their experience at Southwoods RV Resort.

Organized activities: Many campgrounds maintain social calendars throughout camping season. "During our stay they had a closing weekend pizza and wings party with live music for a small fee," reports a camper describing the community atmosphere at Southwoods.

Convenient location: Proximity to Niagara Falls attracts many campers to Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday. "Nice campground with many amenities. Typical KOA. You can schedule tours of the falls in the office. Tour bus stops at office. Restaurants nearby," shares one reviewer who appreciated the transportation options.

What you should know

Site spacing varies: Campgrounds differ in how closely spaced sites are positioned. "Sites are close together, but not busy now, so not a problem," notes a camper at Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging, while others mention good spacing at certain campgrounds.

Internet connectivity: Some campgrounds have invested in technology infrastructure. "Internet is really good and has been upgraded recently with 2 G and 5G access," reports a KOA visitor, though connectivity varies between facilities.

Noise considerations: Railway proximity affects some camping locations. "There is a train track near the park which occasionally is quite noisy," mentions a camper at Southwoods RV Resort, while others note road noise at campgrounds closer to highways.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly amenities: Skyline RV Resort offers family amenities despite compact spaces. "Great campground, a little tight if you like to spread out... The employees were very friendly. They have a repair shop on site," shares a reviewer who appreciated the service options.

Seasonal variations: Families should consider timing when planning visits. "We timed our visit well the park was pretty empty in mid-October but the weather was still nice," notes a camper about their Niagara Falls KOA experience during shoulder season.

Swimming options: Multiple campgrounds offer swimming facilities. "My child had a blast. The tent site wasn't private or fancy but the rest of the facility was great. Staff super nice... the pool is awesome," reports a family that prioritized pool access over site privacy.

Tips from RVers

Arrival timing: Niagara Hartland RV Resort and other campgrounds may have specific arrival policies. "Not bad, pond was great for the dogs but it's a little run down here & lots of seasonal sites. Looks more like a trailer park," mentions a visitor highlighting what to expect.

Road access considerations: RV travelers recommend specific routes when approaching rv sites near Getzville. "Note: if you are coming in from the southern side, DO NOT GO THROUGH DOWNTOWN BUFFALO like we did! PAY THE TOLLS!" advises an experienced RVer who learned this lesson firsthand.

Site materials: Surface types vary between gravel, concrete, and grass. "All campsite pads are gravel except for three long pull-thrus that are paved," details a visitor describing the specific site configurations available at one campground.
