Nice stop over park, we stayed 2 nights. It was pleasant and they do a daily breakfast and nightly dinner. We purchased the dinner the first night, it wasn’t 5 star dining but it hit the spot nonetheless, especially after driving all day.
Very nice place. Well maintained & clean! But only RV - was going to tent camp out of the car but host denied. (with a cravat, he offered to 'put me in the back' for a small fee IF I agreed to not abuse the facilities) -apparently he had problems with campers in the past, so, yea, no camping
An excellent choice for a overnight stay. Close to the freeway. Very nice staff. Level sites. We were tired, and were told they provided food from a limited menu delivered to our site. The chicken fried steak was excellent. The office staff were very helpful and kind
Very pretty campground. Small store, they offer BBQ delivered to your site! Under a thunderstorm advisory so going to forgo the pool.
Chris the owner had some bad reviews but honestly he couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Sometimes when I see bad reviews of management I kinda think maybe the reviewer did something that made the management get to that point. They do own the park and it’s their rules!!!!! We had a very easy site to pull into, no septic but we knew that coming in- they do have a dump station. They have a nice clean dog park that mine loved. It’s laid out well, plenty of room and a restaurant that delivers to your camper. What more can you ask for? We loved everything about it. We were over nighters but it would be a great place for a stay with some R &R. Thumbs up!
Quiet if winds not blowing to bad. Staff was helpful. You can order food that is delivered to your RV. That was convenient. Easy in and easy out. Right near Rt. 40
I was going to need to cancel my reservation and called two weeks before and was told, we don’t have a cancellation policy. There was nowhere on their site that they didn’t have a cancellation policy.
Dog park, showers , laundry, a store and barbecue delivered to your camper! Level spots, a few trees.
We pulled into this campground to escape extremely windy conditions. The park was close to empty when we got there but filled up quickly with others trying to get out of the wind. The sites are close and they are set up oddly with some campers facing one direction and others going the opposite way. We had full hook ups including sewer. Our site shared an electric box with the site beside us. We didn't use the bathrooms or showers but we looked at them and they were clean. Old but clean. The park does have a nice little fenced in dog park so your dog can run off leash. I would stay here again if I were passing through. We felt safe here.
Close to I-40 but quiet. We called day of, were told no problem to have site, pulled in after hours to find easy check in with drop slot. Chris came over same evening, greeted us, gave us change because we paid too much. Great chat, nice guy. Great facilities. Hot showers!
Pretty run down, the spots are tiny and really close. all gravel and some roots and potholes. Large bath house and shower. they have a restaurant with pretty decent food that delivers, that's a plus because if you don't unhook (fifth wheel) then your food options are limited to zero. Right off I-40. The guy that everyone says is grumpy is simply a great American tired of all the BS in the country. Get yourself a FJB T-shirt, he has them for sale.
The campground is all gravel and close together. There is a small picnic table at the site with water and electric hookup. There is also sewer hookup but it was at the wrong end of the site unless we backed in. Then it would be on the wrong side! We just didn't hook up and pulled up as we left to dump. The guy who answered the phone and checked us in was not friendly at all and actually quite grumpy.
We intended on staying one night in the Santa Rosa Campground (May 9, 2022) – we were on the road, an hour away from arrival. However, due to a forest fire directly west of the CG, the office called us to inform us that they were under a “be prepared to evacuate” order and they were canceling our reservation (payments are non refundable, they did not charge us!). The office gave us the option of staying the night (fill out an after hours permit) if the fire was brought under control or move on to another CG. We elected to move on and reserved a spot further down the road.
Thank you Santa Rosa, kudos to you, we greatly appreciate your graciousness and forethought!
The attendant was exceptionally friendly and helpful getting us setup. He helped with propane and told funny stories. We would definitely stay here again!!
It's ok but not the greatest... staff was ok.. not rude as others stated.. sites are a bit tight and a lot of dust blowing around...
Probably would not stay here again unless in a pinch...
Nice campground but literally have never met an owner so rude.
Stayed here twice. Rude staff including restaurant. Good sites clean areas. Freeway noise. Not bad but I won't be back because of staff.........Chris
The owner Chris Lamb is a piece of work has lots of problems and don’t believe he’s had a good day in a long time, that’s who you will deal with. With that said his campground as it’s called hasn’t been maintained for years, certified dump and stay at your own risk. This place isn’t “pet friendly” you can “only walk your dog on the dirt” ( yelled by Chris across the campground”and what parts are green are ridden with cocker barrels which end up in your dogs feet just going out the door and you will track them back inside and deal with them for days. Don’t waist your time as I said this place hasn’t been maintained for years. I read reviews and gave it a chance, you will be totally disappointed and where the good reviews came from I’ll never know. Good luck!!’
Adequate sites, pool through spot I was in was level, easy hookups.
Would stay here again.
Place was nice and rustic. Only issue we had was we stayed for 5 nights and the park was not full at all but they kept putting 1 nite Rv's by us. FYI, when calling for reservation, request to be in back or at least away from 1 night stay people, if that's what you desire. No issues with the staff. If your nice to them, they will be nice to you.
The campground is so close to the highway, we would be just as well rested if we slept in the gravel under an overpass on I40.
The tent area was overgrown and full of burrs.
The bathroom was filthy.
If I could award negative stars I would.
Worst case scenario ever Stopped filled out form with payment 20 minutes later some Ahole pulls up claiming we are fully self contained Well no we have a gray tank and the restroom is open Just needed a place for the night but he insisted that we had to leave There was two tent trailers there with o little gray tanks but they are okay The guy was a real POS and cussed at us as we left Don’t stop here it is a crappie run place
Bummed when we pulled up and were told we couldn’t tent camp. Found a better place up the road near the lake.
No space between rvs, bathrooms closed, probably because the fat bastard working there is too lazy to maintain them. Super rude to us when we decided not to stay bc the place was a dump.
Easy to find, clean bathroom with showers. Fairly level spot. Slept well.
The park was just fine, nothing fancy and by no means a destination. If you are passing through though it works just fine.
