Best RV Parks & Resorts near Chamberino, NM

Chamberino lies between Las Cruces and El Paso, with several RV parks providing full hookup sites throughout the region. Hacienda RV Resort offers 113 concrete pad sites with 50-amp electric service, water and sewer hookups, while Western Skys RV Park in Vado provides year-round access with level sites for larger motorhomes. El Paso West RV Park and Las Cruces KOA accommodate big rigs with pull-through sites, though spacing between RVs can be tight at some locations. The Las Cruces KOA includes additional amenities like a market and firewood availability. "The sites are small, but have everything you need with level concrete pads and full hook ups," noted one visitor about Hacienda RV Resort.

Most RV parks near Chamberino require reservations, particularly during winter months when snowbirds migrate to the area. Road access generally presents few challenges as the terrain remains relatively flat throughout the Mesilla Valley, with most parks situated near major highways for convenient travel. Dump stations are available at most facilities, though Western Skys RV Park receives mixed reviews regarding bathroom and shower cleanliness. Several parks permit pets, with Hacienda RV Resort featuring "one of the best dog run areas" according to a recent visitor. Cell service remains strong throughout the area given the proximity to El Paso and Las Cruces, while protection from desert winds varies between properties. Laundry facilities exist at select locations, including El Paso Roadrunner RV Park and Hacienda RV Resort.

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Beautiful and relaxing

This is an RV resort, not to be confused either an RV park. Lots of large pull through sites, a few back in. Water, sewer, electric- 30/50 amp. WiFi, cable TV, patio with fireplace and hot tub. There used to be an exercise room, meeting rooms, copy & fax service, & laundry. The bathroom and showers are clean and nice. Plus, they have a dog wash area and one of the best dog run areas I’ve found at an RV park or resort! There is actually room for the dogs to run.

    Siesta RV Park

    Needs a refreshing

This is a small RV park just west of ElPaso. It’s older and could use some maintenance. Sites are level, but very close to. Lots of dust. (This is the desert , so maybe expected) 30/50 amp, water & sewer. Free WiFi and Cable TV No dog park. No pool There is a convenience store and grocery store.

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Hacienda RV Resort, NM

Located in Las Cruces New Mexico, Hacienda RV resort is conveniently situated right off of interstate 10. Their main office is closed currently due to COVID precautions, but they are still very accommodating. The sites are small, but have everything you need with level concrete pads and full hook ups. They have a large laundry room. Make sure you use the ones closest to the door (on the right) because they are newer and don’t leave your clothes soaking wet. The dog park is large and has several entrances- it also provides waste bags and a garbage can, which is a plus. The bathrooms are private and include a toilet and shower- clean!!

    Mission RV Park

Nice CG for Convenient Overnight Stay

We stayed one night (May 30, 2022). The is a nice, easy access CG with large, level pull through and back in gravel sites. It is located at the I-10 and 375 interchange next to a trucking container storage facility– there is a lot of road noise and trucking activity, but no bother. The WiFi was good as was cell service. There are a number of activities available: clubhouse, indoor swimming, tennis and basketball courts, playground, horseshoes, biking and walking (within the RV park). We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It was convenient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again.

Aguirre Spring Recreation Area and Campground

    Gorgeous 360 degree views

Beautiful spot. More amenities than I expected. Prettier than most national park campgrounds. The road in is fully paved but it is winding… a sign out front warns that trailers >23’ are not recommended. We had no trouble with our 19’ trailer. The site has fire ring, grill, trash can, covered picnic table, stone paving. Really nice. There are pull through and back in sites. We came mid August… there were only two other camping sites occupied. We enjoyed the sunset then rain set in for the entire night. It really is a gorgeous site. Way more amenities than you’d expect for boondocking.

    Love's RV Hookup-Santa Teresa NM 817

    perfect for my personal preferences

pulled into the loves parking lot that I had scoped out on Google maps. pulled directly into the first lane of pumps with the ass end blocking traffic. And from there, I could just pull forward and back into my spot full of fuel.

In the morning I made a reservation so I can stay here another night as well. I was just going to stay one night. But I can get Propane within walking distance of my truck and the subway shop isn't much farther. Maybe I'll check out the laundry facilities, too. I've already filled the freshwater tank and the water seems fine. Good thing I do not need to dump my black tank because even with the extension, I don't think my hoses would reach. The flaw in the design is that all the sites are back in and the pedestals and sewer ports are behind the RV when parked. Don't worry though because there is a dump station even closer than the propane refill. All six sites orient each camper pretty much due east west with the passenger side to the south. Actually, putting a sewer connection at each site is overkill when there is a nearby dump station, that you can use on your way in or your way out. For one night stops that's all you need. The street noise is tolerable. All the big trucks go to the opposite side of this complex. There were distant train noises and I could barely see the tops of a few cars over the western horizon. Getting the power turned on took a couple phone calls and unintelligible conversations over the intercom setup at the kiosk. I got $72 of propane and the attendant even carried a full 20 and 40 over to my site. While in the office paying for that I got them to turn the power back on, which was turned off at noon because yesterdays stay was over and todays had not started. This gas station and“travel stop” does not sell beer?!?!?!?!? Make sure to ask for your favorite adult beverage, maybe they will get some

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Nothing Special

Our RV GPS and Waze brought us right to this campground (CG) off I-10. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We were then escorted to back-in 186 with FHUs. When we originally made reservations, we selected site 181. At check-in, they were puzzled about how we knew about this site. The site was on the CG map and on the end of a row, so we asked for it. We were told that site 181 is reserved for their Regional Manager. Even though the site was empty, we were moved to 186. This site was long enough for our 40’ rig, but we had to park our F450 angled adjacent to the site. The sites here are also very close together. Water and electric sits pretty much centered on the gravel pad, with the sewer more towards the back. With our 5th wheel parked all the way back in the site, we needed 15’ of sewer hose. There was no picnic table nor fire pit. We had a clear shot of the northern sky for Starlink and 5 bars on Verizon. Their WiFi was usable. The water pressure here is really good, so we used a reducer. They have a long fenced dog run that runs along the south side of the CG and is in sections. Our dogs really enjoyed this dog area. They have a good-sized laundry room that you pay using your cell phone. Washing cost$2 and drying$2 for 45 min. Pay attention when pulling out on the main road near the office. We almost got hit by an oncoming vehicle turning left when departing the RV park. There’s a curve, and the locals drive this shortcut road well over the speed limit. The CG served its purpose for us to visit an old friend for a few days.

    Las Cruces KOA

    Beautiful views

Easy access off the I10 and very close to town and stores and restaurants . The campground is set up on a hill providing beautiful 180 degree views. The staff person in the office was wonderful, professional and helpful. There is a nicely stocked store. The park is very clean and the utilities were in great shape and easy to connect. There is a concrete pad assuring a level site. The picnic table was the nicest that we have seen, it was very clean, in perfect condition and made from great material. It is a lovely campground and we’ll be back.

Guide to Chamberino

Chamberino sits at approximately 3,800 feet elevation in the Mesilla Valley between the Franklin Mountains and the Organ Mountains. Winter temperatures typically range from 30-65°F, while summer months frequently exceed 95°F with minimal rainfall. Tent camping options are limited in this desert region, though several RV parks offer tent sites with shade structures to mitigate the intense sun exposure.

What to do

Visit White Sands National Park: Located about 90 minutes from Chamberino, the stunning white gypsum dunes make for an unforgettable day trip. "We took extra day to visit white sands and experience some New Mexico Mexican food at Andele Restaurant. Weather was perfect in October," notes a visitor to Sunny Acres RV Park.

Explore Old Mesilla: Just 30 minutes from Chamberino RV parks, this historic plaza features adobe architecture, local shops and restaurants. "Took a short drive to La Mesilla and the farmers market in Las Cruces—definitely recommend both," suggests a reviewer at Las Cruces KOA.

Hiking in the Organ Mountains: Trails ranging from easy to challenging are accessible within 45 minutes. A camper mentions: "Great view of Organ Mountains. Park is clean and well maintained. Residents and staff were friendly."

What campers like

Mountain views: Many RV parks near Chamberino offer scenic panoramas. "The place is beautiful and well maintained. Lots of views that everyone can enjoy. A stunning mountain range view that make sunrises and sets a treat," writes a visitor at Las Cruces KOA.

Dog amenities: Pet-friendly facilities are common across campgrounds. "They have a dog wash area and one of the best dog run areas I've found at an RV park or resort! There is actually room for the dogs to run," notes a camper at Hacienda RV Resort.

Recreation options: Several parks offer on-site activities. "The kids enjoyed cornhole, basketball, tetherball, and the playground. The store was well stocked," reports a family staying at Las Cruces KOA.

What you should know

Site spacing variations: Proximity between RVs differs significantly between parks. At El Paso Roadrunner RV Park, "Spaces are very tight fit," while other reviewers note "We just don't like being packed in like sardines being only 3ft from your neighbor on either side."

Seasonal considerations: Winter brings an influx of long-term visitors. "This 55+ park is in town so close to shopping. Good view of Organ Mountains. Park is clean and well maintained," reports a visitor to Sunny Acres RV Park, which primarily offers monthly rates during peak season.

Road noise: Highway proximity affects some locations. A camper at Fort Bliss RV Park notes: "This RV park is military ship-shape. Clean, level cement pads. Nice wide sites with aprons to set out chairs and barbeque. The only draw-back is road noise from Hwy 54. Otherwise great!"

Tips for camping with families

Look for kid-friendly amenities: Some rv parks near Chamberino offer recreation options. "We stayed in a KOA Patio Site with a fire pit, and it was worth it! It's also super convenient—just off I-10 but still peaceful," shares a family who visited Las Cruces KOA.

Consider pool access: During hot months, swimming facilities provide welcome relief. A camper at Mission RV Park mentions they have "a big covered pool, dog area, lots of picnic tables... It's really a great stop that's right off the I10."

Check campground policies: Not all parks welcome children. "Rates are about $464 / month. Pet park allows children for a few days only," notes a visitor regarding Sunny Acres RV Park's age restrictions.

Tips from RVers

Water pressure awareness: Several parks report high pressure systems. At Hacienda RV Resort, staff "let us know water pressure is high so use a reducer," and another camper advises bringing regulators.

Site selection strategies: Request specific sites when possible. "We were put in the last row along the highway. It forced us inside because it was not any fun to listen to," warns an RVer at Fort Bliss RV Park, suggesting requesting sites away from major roads.

After-hours arrival procedures: Check for self-check-in options. "I arrive late. It was awesome. They had a reservation box. You just go in the box. Look for your name pull out the paper gives you all the information you need," shares a visitor at Hacienda RV Resort.
