was amazing… now much less so

We used to go here all the time. This season there are people living in RV’s in the tent camping area for the full season. That’s no problem, but their outside light decorations really are. The last time we were there, it was so bright at night from the lighting decorations that we didn’t need a…

New Jersey is a land of contrasts.

So, we got in with no reservation, which was great. It’s in the same park as the high point, also great. The sites are varied, some have tent platforms, it’s just off the AT, but we have a trailer and the “trailer” sites aren’t level. Showers are at the day use area, from 10-5:30, no trailer dump,…

Fantastic campground close to NYC

This campground is amazing! Not only is it in a beautiful setting, but the sites have a nice amount of space and everything is so clean. The pool was great and the laundry room was immaculate. Within about an hour from NYC...it appeared to be the closest nice campground we could find to explore the…

Scenic Riverside campsites

I live 15 miles from this campground and have paddled by it over 50 times. Recently purchased a used popup camper and needed a local campground to become familiar with setting it up. Stayed there twice this year. Both times were for a single mid week evening. Both times it was a positive…

Nice stay

We had a nice stay at Korns. It was early in the season. They only had one woman working and she was unavailable the whole time lol. Site was a little trashy other than that we had a great time. Site 90 was real nice. Fairly secluded and Surrounded by a stream. Electrical and water on every site…

Beautiful and relaxing water sites

Stayed here 2 nights in May, Friday-Sunday. There were a decent amount of people on Friday, but significantly more on Saturday. Park employees and park police drive around through the day. Some big groups of campers got a little rowdy at night. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. I thought…

Great place for an adventure

A few of us rode in to the steam mills campsite on motorcycles and took a couple days to enjoy the mountain air and views.

Cold, but pretty great!

My first time staying at Stokes Stat Forest, December 2020. Chose this campsite based on the photos online, the river right there was a big deal. I knew it would be cold and planned accordingly. The days were a good temperature for hiking, the nights were chilly. Once the fire died down, I snuggled…

Nice, easy getaway

This place is only an hour away from NYC with so much to do and see. These cabins are VERY rustic, four walls, a cot, and a fridge. You still feel like you are "roughing it" but with the convenience of a fridge. Absolutely zero phone service (for T-Mobile) which was AMAZING. There's a few very cute…

Deceptive photography on reservation website

This was my second time camping at High Point State Park, Sawmill Area, October 2020. I chose this campsite, 031, based on the photos on the reservation website and boy was I disappointed. We wanted to setup our large tent on the **flat** gravel driveway and our hammocks and relaxation area on…

Nice Secluded Campsites

My first time camping at High Point State Park, Sawmill Area, September 2019. I chose a campsite close to the restrooms and water spigot. It turned out to be very secluded, minus the foot traffic to the restroom at all hours. The campsite is mostly gravel so the platform is necessary. There are no…
