Several RV parks near Wisner, Nebraska provide full-hookup options for travelers. River Land Campground offers 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections with sites accommodating large motorhomes. Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Norfolk features electric-only sites on concrete pads with a dump station available at the entrance, operating from April 15 to October 15. Veterans Memorial RV Park in Randolph provides electric and water hookups with big-rig friendly access. Blue Ox Factory RV Park in Pender has 50-amp service and sewer connections but lacks drinking water and dump facilities. "Most sites have 30 and 50 amp hookups, but some sites are very unlevel. The passenger side of our 5th wheel was about 7 inches lower than driver side before we levelled out."

Many campgrounds in the region maintain seasonal operations, typically closing by mid-October and reopening in April. Cottonwood Cove Park Campground

      Tiny and QUIET!

Cottonwood Cove Park was the fifth campsite we rolled into in this tri-state area looking for a spot that we actually liked, and boy did we score! This is a little municipal park with only 12 sites, water/electric/cable TV for $22/night. Be aware that there is no dump station here. There's a small bath house that's presently closed for COVID-19 precautions.

Driveways and the road through the campground are crushed white gravel, but there are small concrete pads at each site for the rig and patio area. Large cottonwood trees tower throughout the campground. There are tiny campers and large fifth-wheels here, both. There's a campground host occupying one site, and you pay the host. Spacing between sites is very, very generous -- kudos to Dakota City for not cramming people into this place just to double the revenue.

The campground buts up right against a pretty natural stretch of the west bank of the Missouri River, with a boat launch and interpretive platform discussing Lewis & Clark's expedition that passed through here. The campground itself is tucked right into the middle of a neat, tidy residential neighborhood, such that it almost feels like you're part of the neighborhood.

It's been amazingly quiet during our stay. We've barely seen our neighbors, much less heard them even though the campground is mostly occupied. There are several rigs here that are long-term, presumably they're working at the massive Tyson Foods plant just up the road.

Cell service on Verizon is an impressive 4 bars, 42ms ping/65.6 Mbps down/24.8 Mbps up/3ms jitter.

We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

      Scenic Park

      Along the Missouri River

Scenic Park Campground is in South Sioux City along the Missouri River. Our campsite had a river view, picnic table, and fire ring. The campground is part of a large park and was full hookups with cable and wifi included. Our site was a pull through. The area was clean and had a nice appearance. There was also 4 unique modern looking cabins and a tent area.

The park also has tennis courts, soccer fields, and baseball fields. There is a swimming pool and playgrounds, along with trails. The trails I loved were along the river. The only con was that There was a major highway on the other side of the river and ambulances would pass by with sirens going. Otherwise a nice campground.

      Czechland Lake Recreation Area

Great first come first serve campground

This is a nice small campground that is well taken care of. We stayed at site number 8 which may be one of the more unlevel spots. The passenger side of our 5th wheel was about 7" lower than driver side and rear of fifth wheel was about 3" lower than front before we levelled out.

      Pros:

-Well maintained walking trails that are perfect for dogs

-Most sites have 30 and 50 amp hookups

-Fire rings and picnic tables at most sites

-$18 a night for electric hookups

      -Quiet

      Cons:

      -Some sites are very unlevel

      -No water or dump station

      Scenic Park

      Nice Stopover Spot

We stayed with our class A RV on our way to and from a further destination. First spot was one right along the river. All the spots are spacious...neighbors are not on top of you. This spot had a nice concrete pad with a picnic table (not so nice with peeling paint). Views of the river and city were nice. Full hook-ups with sewer, water, electric, cable, and wi-if. Second spot was not on the river but equally spacious. No concrete pad with this one. Bathhouses were a mixed bag. One was large with numerous stalls and showers and very clean. The other quite small (2 stalls and one shower) and not so clean. Had to step around empty shampoo and conditioner bottles on floor and a used razor on the soap dish.....there in the early evening and still there around 9 the next morning. Many of the sites seemed to be extended stay and not all trailers were well kept.....plastic covering windows, haphazard decks, etc. All-in-all though an Ok stopover in a longer trip.

      Neligh Park Campground

      Quiet camping in the city

Neligh Park campground features level concrete pads with gravel in front of each site. Every site includes a picnic table along with electric and water hookups. There is an on-site dump station that costs$2.00 if you are not staying at the park. Camping is $15 per night. Some sites are reservable online, while others can be paid for when you arrive.  The sites do not offer much shade as the trees planted around them are still small. The campground is in a quiet part of town.

The city park is adjacent to the campground. The city park has a newer, large playground, sand volleyball courts, and a walking trail that loops around the lake. There is also a community Aquatic Center on the premises that features a pool and a large water slide.

There appears to be a modern restroom building near the newer part of the park. There are a few fast food restaurants located a short drive away from the campground.

      Scenic Park

      Nice quiet park

Host was very friendly and helpful. They had some spots on the river. We stayed in a pull through that was very spacious with picnic table and fire pit. Spectated by trees so your not on top of your neighbor. Bathrooms and showers were very clean! Although no hand soap so bring your own. Showers were free and they had bikes you could check out to ride around. Park is super close to huge park with Tennis courts and other activities.

      Gilman Park

Four sites in a city park

If you are passing through northeast Nebraska, Gilman Park Campground in Pierce Nebraska is a convenient, budget-friendly stopover. It is a small, basic setup located right inside a lovely city park. There is not a dump station directly inside the park, but there is a public dump station located in the town about two minutes away. In May 2026 the nightly rate was $20, with a 5 night maximum stay.

The camping layout is very straightforward, with four campsites lined up together. There are two shared power pedestals, with each pedestal serving two campsites. These are 30-amp electric only. All four sites share a single water spigot as far as I could tell, so you may need a long hose to fill your tank. There is one shared charcoal grill, a trash can, and an area with a picnic table.

The surrounding park is beautiful and I enjoyed my time here. There is a lake with a fishing dock. There are two separate playgrounds and multiple picnic shelters equipped with their own grills. There is a brick bathroom building in the park, but I did not go inside.

Right next to the campsites sits a local Pioneer Museum. It wasn't open during our visit, but it looks like a neat historical feature when accessible.

Verizon is strong here, with a 5G signal providing 200Mbps down and 6Mbps up.

      Nice Stopover Spot

We stayed with our class A RV on our way to and from a further destination in early July. First spot was one right along the river. All the spots are spacious...neighbors are not on top of you. This spot had a nice concrete slab with a picnic table (not so nice with peeling paint). Views of the river and city were nice. Full hook-ups with sewer, water, electric and (spotty) WiFi. Second spot was not on the river but equally spacious. No concrete patio with this one. Bathhouse’s were a mixed bag. One was large with numerous stalls and showers and very clean. The other quite small (2 stalls and one shower) and not so clean. Had to step around empty shampoo and conditioner bottles on the floor and a used razor on the soap dish...there in the early evening and still around 9 the next morning. Many sites seemed to be extended stay and not all were well kept...plastic covering windows, haphazard decks, etc. All-in-all though an OK one night stopover spot if you’re traveling through.

      Dead Timber State Rec Area

      Peaceful RV Spot

Dead Timber SRA is located between an oxbow lake and the Elkhorn River. It has a small number of both 30 amp electric RV pads along with basic tent camping spots. RV pads are either gravel or grass, while tent camping sites are located on a mowed area along the lake. Plenty of space between sites.

The area is peaceful and seems like a bit of a a hidden gem not too far from Lincoln, Columbus or Fremont. The lake is nice for kayaking and fishing, plus there is a lot of wildlife to view in the area.

Vault toilets are available, but there are no shower facilities, 50 amp hookups, or dump stations. The only water hydrant I could find seemed to be in use by the campground hosts, so plan on filling your water tank somewhere before arriving.

    Guide to Wisner

Recreational vehicle sites near Wisner, Nebraska cluster along major highways and river corridors within a 50-mile radius. Most Wisner-area RV campgrounds operate in a rural setting with basic municipal services, positioned near small towns of 5,000 or fewer residents. Summer temperatures typically reach 85-90°F with higher humidity, making shade a premium amenity that varies significantly between established parks.

    What to do

Water activities at Czechland Lake: This small recreation area offers fishing, kayaking and no-wake boating just 45 minutes from Wisner. "There is a water fill and lake to kayak and use non-motorized boats," notes a visitor to Czechland Lake Recreation Area. Another camper details: "Clean quiet lake by Prague a small Nebraska town with a great Bakery and fun festivals. The camping is quiet and clean as were the toilets."

Hiking opportunities: Several campgrounds maintain walking paths suitable for day hikes. "Ponca is awesome. It's set at the edge of rolling wheat fields over looking the Missouri river. The woods are lush and full of deer, turkeys and other critters," writes a reviewer about Riverfront Campground. The campground features "miles of trails and great water park," according to another camper.

Fishing access: Many RV parks in the region provide lake or river access. "We went out to Czechland with my sons scout troop and had a nice time camping and fishing. The lake is gorge and the boys were catching a lot of crappie, as well as some large mouth bass and bluegill," writes one visitor.

    What campers like

Well-maintained shower facilities: Clean restroom facilities rank high in camper reviews. At On-Ur-Wa RV Park, "bathrooms and showers are clean. One of our party is in a wheelchair and had no problem accessing the showers or bathroom." Similarly, a visitor to Ta-Ha-Zouka Park commented: "The shower house is brand new and beautiful & very clean inside."

Accessibility to services: Most RV campgrounds Wisner, Nebraska visitors frequent provide easy access to nearby towns. "This small campground is right off the interstate, easy to get to. It's right by a small truck stop, but the noise was not bothersome at all," notes an On-Ur-Wa RV Park visitor. Another camper at River Land Campground points out: "There's a Walmart & Menards within 10 min. And plenty of food choices too."

Dog-friendly options: Multiple campgrounds welcome pets with designated areas. "There is a small dog park for the pups," writes one On-Ur-Wa visitor. At Ta-Ha-Zouka Park, a camper notes: "A large fenced dog park. Great stop for a night or two. Host very helpful."

    What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most RV parks in the Wisner area close for winter. "Pay with your phone with QR code scan to pay so no need to have cash or check," notes a visitor to Czechland Lake Recreation Area, which operates year-round with limited services in winter months.

Site leveling challenges: Many campgrounds require leveling equipment. At Czechland Lake, "you will need to bring leveling blocks for nearly every site since the campground is built on a hill." Another review cautions: "May be difficult parking for larger rigs (35ft+) due to the one way entrance and curvature of the campground."

Hookup limitations: Water access points vary between parks. At Bob Hardy RV Park, "Only 2 drinkable water fountains" are available, according to one camper. Another notes: "Decent park and great price! We stayed 2 nights for my husband to do a job down the road. Shower house could have been cleaner but you can't beat the price at $17.50/night!"

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Several campgrounds offer dedicated play areas. "They had electric hookups, grills and picnic tables at every site plus a small playground for kids," writes a Bob Hardy RV Park visitor. River Land Campground has activities nearby: "Columbus has activities for kids too. Water park (the Pawnee plunge) & playgrounds (Centennial Park)."

Swimming options: Ta-Ha-Zouka Park provides recreational water access. "The Cowboy Trail starts here and continues to Valentine, NE. Clean bathrooms and showers as well," notes a camper. Riverfront Campground visitors mention: "Aside from the river, there are trails and a pool."

Safety considerations: Check park conditions and host availability. "When we pulled up, he greeted us and was very friendly! Having a camp host has made the campsite much more safe and appealing. The locals told us it used to be a mess and it's so much better now," writes a Ta-Ha-Zouka Park visitor.

    Tips from RVers

Electric service reliability: Most RV campgrounds near Wisner, Nebraska provide reliable electric hookups. "Before we pulled up, we had to fill with water because there is no water at the sites themselves. And no sewer dump at the sites. (There is one on your way out). However, we had full 50 amp power," notes a Ta-Ha-Zouka Park visitor.

Site size and privacy: Space between sites varies significantly. "Sites are large with space, electric only, ok bath and shower," writes a Riverfront Campground reviewer. At River Land Campground, "RV sites are spacious, concrete patios w/ picnic tables, new fire rings. Baby trees were just planted to help with some shade, but there are a few mature trees too."

Overnight parking vs. longer stays: Some parks limit maximum stays. At Veterans Memorial RV Park, a reviewer notes: "Lots of shade. Cement pads. Turn on Main Street and about 3 blocks south is a sign that says RV Park. (GPS has difficulties finding it). Make a free will donation at the city office 2 blocks south. Very quiet."
