Beaverhead River RV Park
Unexpected and good.
Beautiful kept park. Lots of activities. Large dog park. Propane, laundry, store.
Glen Campground's free camping area provides a quiet overnight stop for travelers with pets. This BLM fishing access site features established tent sites with separate parking blocks and maintained pit toilets central to both tent and RV areas. Pets are welcome at all campsites, with easy access to the Big Hole River for dogs that enjoy water. Sportsman Lodge, Cabins & RV Park offers full-hookup RV sites on grassy areas with picnic tables, plus pet-friendly cabin accommodations. The property includes numerous doggie bag stations throughout, making cleanup convenient for pet owners. Both Maiden Rock Dispersed and Brownes Bridge Fishing Access Site accommodate pets with no additional fees. Campers at Glen Campground note the area is bear country, so pet owners should keep dogs close and food secured.
Dogs have plenty of space to explore along the Big Hole River shoreline at most fishing access campgrounds in the area. Maiden Rock Dispersed camping area provides pet owners with picnic tables, fire pits and bear boxes at each site while offering mountain views and river access for fishing and dog swimming opportunities. The gravel terrain at some sites may be uncomfortable for sensitive paw pads, so dog booties might be necessary. Brownes Bridge Fishing Access Site features five campsites under large cottonwood trees that provide ample shade during hot weather. The area around Glen features multiple fishing access points along the river where dogs can cool off, though mosquitoes can be problematic in summer months, requiring pet-safe insect repellent.

Wow this was a very unique camping experience up in the boulders. Had a lot of fun walking my dogs and cat up in there. (Yes my cat goes camping too). There was no water pumps on the campground, however there is a nice little creek running through that one could get water. Also there were vault toilets and the one we used was closer to the entrance of the campground. It was clean, however the door didn't lock. Really wish we didn't go on a holiday weekend as it sounded like a dirt bike ho-down and wasn't very relaxing. We will try again during the week or a non holiday weekend. The stars were gorgeous, and the bird watching was phenomenal. At least when there weren't dirt bikes.
Glen Campground is a great place to stop when passing through Montana on the 15. It’s not far from town or the freeway, but remote enough to enjoy a few nights of camping. It is bear country so be mindful of that when planning your visit.
We stayed one night on our way back to Spokane and it was cold but beautiful. Lit a fire and enjoyed the beautiful April 2025 Full Moon.
You must pack in/pack out all of your belongings & trash.
It is a very off the beaten path, tucked away in the woods, true getaway from the busy city life. Travel south on 278 from Wisdom, MT and take the chance on an 18 mile gravel road to find a place only you see in pictures and read about in magazines. Drive through open cattle ranges and find a beautiful campground nestled up to 2 small lakes connected by a shallow channel. Clear water to see the bottom where it's shallow enough. No motorized boats allowed, so bring your own kayak or canoe and a fishing pole or two to enjoy the refreshing waters at the bottom of the mountains. Even in July, you can see snow atop the mountains on the Montana-Idaho border.
My family and I had such a blast here. We stayed at a different campground the last time we visited Montana and it wasn’t a very good place, so we definitely did more research beforehand and found that this place was a real gem and it truly was. The lake nearby was incredible. We spent a lot of our time here. We also found some amazing hikes that were less than 30miles away from the campground and they were incredible. Hiking in Montana is amazing and hands down worth it. I’m from Washington where hiking is perfect, but Montana gives it a run for its money. Worth the drive! The campground was clean and well kept. Decent size spaces which was nice. Lots of shade which was awesome!
This campground is conveniently located near downtown Ennis, Montana. While you're close enough to town to run and get coffee in the morning, your spot will feel tucked back by the river. The only downside of this campground is that occasionally throughout the night you can hear cars and semi-trucks passing over the nearby bridge. Our camp spot was close to the bridge so maybe if you were further back in the campground it wouldn't be as noticeable. Across the river, from our camp spot, we could easily see residential homes. They are nice homes but it doesn't give you a completely secluded feeling because of that.
Nice location for an overnight rest spot. We had a tent site, close to the road, but traffic wasn’t bad after dark. Site was grassy. No fires allowed for obvious reasons. We were the only tent guests. Most people looked like they were long term RV’rs. IMMACULATE bathrooms and showers with hot water and pressure ! There’s a hot springs nearby, a water slide, golf course and resort hotel/casino. Easy access to I-15. Only drawback I could see was that there was dog poop everywhere. Bags were provided, but apparently people don’t use them :(
This is a small campground (my kinda place). Only a handful of other sites were filled. Lots of birds, chipmunks, and prairie dogs. The view was jaw dropping. I wasn’t able to venture around much but would like to in the future. My site was bordering a huge meadow. Amazing!
This is a great spot in a tiny town south of Butte Montana. They have a couple cabins, several motel rooms and about 10 full hookup, all grass, RV spots. Also a large area for car/tent camping. The grounds are meticulously maintained by the owner and it has nice views of the bluffs and mountains all around it. Walking distance to the restaurant and bar in town if that’s your thing. Quality hookups at each site, and each site has its own trash can. Clean bathrooms and laundry on site. Owners are very present and attentive on site and super friendly. Picnic tables at every site. One shared fire pit out front of the office. It’s in a very small town, with several fishing spots nearby. Very peaceful location. We would stay again.
A few things to be aware of:
Camping options around Glen, Montana center on the Big Hole River valley at an elevation of approximately 5,400 feet. The area experiences hot, dry summers with cool evenings and cold winters with significant snowfall.
