Great location

Sept 2021 not too crowded. Mostly small sites, with some nices ones. We were in 154 upper level on the end in a 31 ft 5th wheel. Wouldn't go bigger on this site. Very nice site. Sites in the lower section are on the water with a view of the bridge. Close to St Ingnas and the ferries. Stopped…

Top notch campground

Stayed here for 3 days in a travel trailer. Good sized sites, fairly level, friendly staff. Clean facilities and ample amenities. Only con was expensive to use clothes washing machines.

Best location

Stayed at a super saver site and it was very small, with no fire ring... just a pan. It was a let down. But, the store and bathrooms are great. The location is stellar, with views of the Bridge. There is a bike path across the street that leads into town.

Smallish sites, great location

Pros: Location! 25 minutes from Mackinaw City, 10 Minutes from Pellston for supplies. Right on Burt Lake. Clean pit toilets. Generally not too crowded.

Cons: Small sites, especially for a Statr Forrest Campground. Can be pretty loud.

Beautiful Campground 😃

Nice beautiful campground situated in a nice woods setting. Sprayed for bugs so the bugs were not much of a nuisance. The camp sites are a nice firm gravel and pretty level. We didn’t even have to use leveling blocks. Facilities were very very clean and well kept. The owners are awesome and very…

Horrible

The owners were constantly driving around and correcting people. Rules are okay but they were over the top. They would even stop and just stare at our site while we sat outside.. it was very odd. Also not kept up at all. The playground was old and my 30 lb dog slipped out from under the “dog park”…

Solid camping

I stayed in the corner lot next to the playground. I spent a lot of time off the campsite during the day but at night the view was great. There was more than enough room for my tent. There was a nice spot to hang a hammock next to the road. It was a great experience

Nice little metro park gem

Nice little metro park for tent camping. Most sites are dispersed. You can pull your car up to the site for unpacking.

Modern bathrooms and a snack shop on site.

Park offers kayak, canoe, and row boat rentals. Also paddle boards.

Disc golf and regular golf available.

Nice sandy beaches.

  • Paddle boats for rent.

Straits campground

Our site was small and close to our neighbors. We were close to the restrooms which were very clean and showers available. Some nice campsites by water with view of Macinack bridge. We biked to ferry from campsite and had a wonderful day on the island.

Lots of shaded spots!

We stayed the week before Labor Day and loved it, ended up adding a day and switching sites to stay longer. Sites in the Dunes loop can be very tight and the road is narrow, however sites shown as 20” ft max can sometimes accommodate larger RVs. We’re 22ft and easily fit into one of the 20ft…

Beautiful Sunsets

Petoskey State Park is our go-to favorite. Shady, sunny and in-between, sites so there is something for everyone's taste. This is an older campground so sites for the huge rigs is limited. The second section of sites is tuned for tents, pop-ups and small campers. Handicap sites were recently…
