This is a dark sky preserve campground and the stars are the show. We stayed here at the end of the perseid meteor showers and saw several falling meteors," shares Michelle M.
Go-karting and arcade games: Family entertainment options are available directly adjacent to Harbortown RV Resort. "Next door to putt putt go karts batting cages and arcade - this was pricey but fun," writes Kourtney D. about the attractions available outside the campground.

What campers like
Private wooded sites: Lake Hudson Recreation Area provides secluded camping spots. Jennie S. describes, "My site is HUGE. It is private! You will need the long cord if you plan on using electricity. My site has a path right out to the lake."
Halloween camping events: Monroe-Toledo North KOA hosts special Halloween-themed camping weekends. Ryan M. explains, "I've been going to this campground for years, but mainly for the Halloween camping. It's a fun time of the year to go and the kids always have a blast. Most sites decorate and some site go all out with haunted houses."
Animal encounters: Indian Creek Camp & Conference Center offers unique wildlife interactions. Angela H. remarks, "We enjoyed visiting the llamas...Yes, they have llamas! And we even got to use the zip line which was a lot of fun that we could all do together."
Clean facilities: Harbortown RV Resort maintains well-kept grounds and amenities. "The best, cleanest, well maintained, under control campground we've ever been to," states Len B.
What you should know
Water quality concerns: Sterling State Park sits on Lake Erie, which sometimes experiences algae blooms. Jennifer S. mentions, "Campground is right by the power plant, but also have beautiful views of the lake. There is not much shade and if lot is full you are very close to other campers."
Site spacing varies significantly: Some campgrounds offer spacious sites while others pack campers closely. At Monroe-Toledo North KOA, Isaac R. notes, "The only down side was they pack in the campers super tight. I would guess 22 feet wide and I only had 5 feet behind my 30 foot camper until you reach the next camper."
