"Not a perfect site due to no shade. The site was gravel and grass, pretty level. Our camper is 27 ft and it fit nicely, though larger ones would have problems."

Stayed 1 night on our way from Florida to Texas. Very convenient location just 2 mins off I-10. Gas station next door. Nice staff. Pull through sites that the staff guides you to. Big rig friendly
Poches RV park is nice, well maintained, and has number of amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge.
Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.
Stayed in campsite#69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel. The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc. We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would stay here again. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Chicot State Park is wonderful and well maintained. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. Take the time to drive around to the East Landing in the evening before sunset. It has one of the prettiest views of Chicot Lake. Also drive down to the South Fishing Pier below the South Campground. It has a long pier that goes out into the lake. My son spent a lot of time at the splash pad. Be sure to visit the free La. State Arboretum onsite. It has a great visitor center with some fantastic exhibits and nice hiking trails.
Stayed in campsite#84. It has a nice deck with picnic table. BBQ grill and fire pit are on the other side of the RV spot. Even though it is in the front, it is actually quite secluded with woods all around. Nearest neighbor was at least 40-50 ft. Away. My son could easily walk or ride his bike to the splash pad. Both AT&T and Verizon had poor signal(1 bar each). Was able to connect to the free park Wi-Fi. It was slow, but I could send text messages and make the occasional phone call. Wasn't a big deal, because I came here to camp and get unplugged. We camped at Chicot State Park in a Travel Trailer.
This campground is located on the Cotile lake in Boyce, Louisiana. And it's only about 8 or 10 minutes from I-49, but well worth the time. There is a small boat launch/fishing area. A couple of the guests are long term, but it is very quiet here. No matter what site you are in, you will need to level your rv. We are in site #17 and it overlooks the lake. Owners are fantastic. Highly recommend.
Pool and hot tub, laundry, showers, fishing, free wifi. The dog area is large and has a place to wash your dog. Plenty of trees for shade and they accommodate 30 and 50 amp electric with water and sewer. There is also a dump station. Nice play ground for children. Beautiful walking/biking trail around the large pond.

Don't get me wrong, I am not antisocial, but when I go camping I really want the natural quiet of nature. It was pretty busy, with many people gathered and partying. Kids driving crazy on golf carts. Otherwise, the property is pretty. The sites are easily accessible (our camper is approximately 30 ft). The showers were not available d/t covid 19, but were there. Our site 12 was level and had full hookups. Pet friendly. Large trees. Store on site and snack shop near the beach. Very kid friendly.

Noise levels: Some parks experience higher noise levels during peak periods. It was pretty busy, with many people gathered and partying. Kids driving crazy on golf carts."

Halloween celebrations: Consider fall visits for seasonal activities. "Fall has been great because of the nice fire pits and we are now a huge fan of their Halloween celebration. The camping spots really go all out in decorating for the kids. There was a costume contest and then a time for kids to visit all spots for candy."
Playground facilities: Parks vary significantly in playground quality and safety. At Frog City RV Park, one camper observed: "Only thing we noticed that needs work is the small playground. I thought our kids would tip the whole thing over while swinging!" Check recent reviews before planning activities for younger children.

Very convenient location just 2 mins off I-10." The park features "pull through sites that the staff guides you to. Big rig friendly."
Utility hookup placement: Pay attention to sewer connection locations when setting up. At Lakeview Park, "Be sure to bring extra sewer hose, the sewer is a far reach! The site behind and on the right are very close." This can be particularly important for rigs with fixed or limited-length sewer hose setups.
Interstate proximity: Several campgrounds provide convenient overnight options for travelers passing through. "Bayou Wilderness is 4.5 miles from I-49 just north of I-10. The park is exceptionally well maintained... This is an excellent overnight stay with FHU."
