    Winton Woods Campground

Great county park in a beautiful setting!

This is a great county park! It has a nice “campground” feel set in a large pine trees and wide sites but has 50-amp full hook-up sites. The campground is set in Winton Woods County Park which is about 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

There are 123 campsites including RV sites, tent pads, and camping cabins. Most RV sites are back-in but there are 12 pull-thru sites. There is a myriad of sites here from 50-amp full hook-up with paved pads and patios to 30-amp gravel sites. Sites have fire pits, picnic tables. Campsites in the front section (1F – 25F and 1R – 12R) are big rig-friendly with paved roads wide enough to easily maneuver. All utilities worked accordingly and were well-placed in the site. Our 4G Verizon phone got good reception and we were able to get plenty of antenna television channels. The online reservation system is easy to use and gives you an array of sites/cabins to choose from. Be aware that lots of people use this park on the weekends so it can get quiet busy.

There are lots of amenities at this park. Within walking distance of the campground is Winton Woods Lake which has a harbor with boathouse, snack bar, boat rentals and playgrounds. There are miles of paved and rustic hiking trails. There is a camp store, dump station, laundry, restrooms/shower house, boat/kayak launch, and fishing access. Located in the park is a golf course and horseback riding center.

You are within a few miles of everything … grocery, gas/diesel, restaurants, and plenty of shopping. The park is close to I-275 and I-75 making for easy access to major interstates. One place you should not miss is Jungle Jims international grocery and market. This totally eclectic, sprawling "grocery store" has so much to offer. They pride themselves on providing unique foods from all over the world. I could spend hours in this store perusing the isles of which are sectioned off into country and region. There are entire sections on Indian foods, wines, cheeses that you have never heard of, and tanks with live fish ready for the filleting. Also within close proximity is Greaters -one of the country's best ice cream shops (according to Food and Wine). Just down the street is a new person favorite sandwich shop called Izzy's which is famous for their corned beef and delicious potato pancakes.

Loved this park because you have a very nice campsite with 50-amp full hook-up site with lots to do in the area. Our site was level and the roads were easy to navigate in our motorhome. The paved trail around the lake was great for walking/jogging and perfect for launching our kayaks.

We would definitely stay here again.

    Beechwood Acres Camping Resort

    Small, But Great Family Spot!

This is a great place to take the kids. We go here every year. They have an in-ground pool, a small store for camping needs, firewood delivery and propane refills. Cell service here is awful and there is no WiFi. The antenna will pick up several local channels. There is a Dollar General about 10 mins away for grocery needs. They have several pull-through and full hookup options as well. Sites are somewhat level. This park has beautiful landscaping that is always meticulously maintained. They also host events and if you check their event calendar on their website, you can see what’s going on during your stay. We were fortunate enough to see the band Timestamp and loved it! They even had a community bonfire!

    Two Rivers Campground

    Very Nice!

Two Rivers is a fairly new, city run campground close to I-71 and adjacent to the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers. All sites are FHU, about half of them are pull-through and all are on level pads for the rig with adjoining concrete pads with picnic tables. There is a playground for kids, a very nice bathhouse and free WiFi. We’ve stayed here on our way to and from Nashville and are doing so again this year. Can’t recommend enough!

    “One of Indiana's Finest”

This is a great southern Indiana State Park with easy access from US 50. Plenty of sites to accommodate larger rigs with paved pads, picnic tables, fire rings, 30 amp, dump station and very clean restroom & shower facilities. The park offers great hiking trails, mountain bike trails, seasonal nature center, seasonal swimming pool, horse trails and 230 acre lake. Oak Creek Campground

    Easy place to stop

Nice campground with several pull through sites for big rigs. Pool and new dog park with a very nice play area for the kids. We prefer site 18 which offers nice privacy and os next to a stream.

Winton Woods Campground Hamilton County Park

    Surprising City Campground

Winton Woods Campground was a clean and quiet campground that we were pleasantly surprised to find. The campground fills up fast and there were plenty of shaded electric sites close to the lake. There were also plenty of pull through sites for the big rigs. However if you’re good at backing, there were a good many deeper sites that you could use. Close by is Bass Pro Shops so you could pickup anything you forgot. Only one shower house for the entire campground though.

    Versailles State Park Campground

    Nice family campground

Versailles State Park is a clean and family friendly camping destination that we enjoying visiting. There are three separate main campgrounds here; A B and C. C is our favorite because it is small, and mostly level lots (except the far end) with mature trees. B is larger with level lots, but usually crowded. A is very hit or miss as far as level sites. It’s very tight back in there, but more wooded private sites. It’s usually not too rowdy here unless you visit on a booked holiday weekend. The pool is nice, and the kids love the slides and diving board. They also have a fenced in area for small children with a baby pool and sprinkler. They do sell concessions at the pool as well. There are some nice trails and a lake where you can fish and kayak. I would also note that there is only one dump station for the three campgrounds so there can be quite the line when trying to get out of there on a Sunday afternoon. We love the Halloween festivities! It is so fun to see all the costumes and the decorations all over the campground. We plan to make it an annual tradition! Overall the park is very nice and I would definitely recommend to camping families.

    Three Springs Campground

    Nice quiet clean place

Quiet lil place clean showers and bathrooms extremely friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you set up. (Was offered hoses and power cords if needed). I stayed in 4A and leveled with ease . It’s a back In Only but they are there with you to guide. Dog friendly which is a big bonus. Has some on site cats too. We are 36 class A but had many different sites available and some great looking primitive sites as well. We will be back to relax and get back to nature.

    Hueston Woods State Park Campground

Nice but hard to get good sites on weekends !

Limited level campground with full and electric hookups (does have WiFi). Best areas are A (full hookups and B (electric hookups) with concrete pads, some with slight slopes. First sites #s on A side do have larger slopes! C through E are electric only but are hilly grass pads. Other areas are back in the woods with no WiFi connections and primitive bathrooms/ outhouses (no showers) But park has great recreational activities. Book early for weekends which are almost non existent during the summer for A and B areas! Also only one dump station in B area.

Golfing: A.J. Jolly Park includes a golf course adjacent to camping areas for those wanting to combine activities. "The park has a golf course" mentioned in reviews, making it convenient for campers who enjoy golfing during their stay.

What campers like

Lake views: Sites at A.J. Jolly Park offer waterfront positioning. "Close to Cincinnati but each site is wooded and on lake front, lots to do!" reports Anna N. about the camping experience.

Clean facilities: Winton Woods Campground maintains well-kept restrooms and grounds. "Bathhouses were very clean. Entrance was gated. Nice campstore," Jeremy K. notes about the facilities.

Peace and quiet: Many campers appreciate the tranquility at Three Springs Campground and RV Park. "Very quiet campground in a beautiful place surrounded by trees very friendly personal," says Susanne W. about her experience.

Concrete pads: Northern Kentucky RV Park provides level sites with concrete pads. "We stayed one night on our way to pigeon forge, tn. It was neat and orderly," Joe F. comments about the campground's organization.

What you should know

Train noise: Northern Kentucky RV Park experiences railway disturbances. "The only bad a train horn and noise," Rodney L. mentions in his review, which could impact light sleepers.

Weekend availability: Summer weekends see high occupancy at most parks. "When we went there were only a handful left," Daniel G. reports about Tucker's Landing.

Seasonal limitations: Many campgrounds operate on restricted schedules. "We visited for a weekend in April," shares Lindsey S. about Tucker's Landing, while Thousand Trails Wilmington operates from "April 17 to October 30" according to their listing information.

Shade availability: Some sections at Winton Woods lack tree cover. "Our only complaint would be no shade at the section we were in," mentions Jeremy K., suggesting families should consider bringing shade structures during summer months.

Tips from RVers

Pad size limitations: A.J. Jolly Park has compact concrete pads. "Pad are about 12 x12 concrete so that's a plus but the location of the pads if you want to use your RV awning means your wheels in what ever your using are going to be nearly off the level area or in the grass," Jeffrey D. explains about positioning larger vehicles.

Utility placement: Many campgrounds have utilities positioned on unexpected sides. "Water hook ups are on the opposite side of electrical on several sites," Jeffrey notes at A.J. Jolly Park, suggesting RVers bring extension hoses and cords.

Cell connectivity: Various campgrounds offer different levels of connectivity. "I use Starlink and T-mobile 5G. The T-Mobile seems to be working best here. The cell booster I have made it go from 'good' to 'excellent'," Emerson F. shares about Thousand Trails Wilmington.

Leveling requirements: Northern Kentucky RV Park offers relatively flat sites while others require more effort. "Sites are pretty level, although we did have to unhook to keep truck from sticking out into road," reports Marci R. about Three Springs Campground.
