Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park accommodates pets at its campground, offering visitors a chance to camp with their dogs while enjoying lakeside views. The park features eight circular camping pods arranged like wagon wheel spokes, providing full hookup sites for RVs, tent camping areas, and pet-friendly cabins. Sites maintain good spacing, with several campers noting the layout works particularly well for families traveling with pets who want to reserve multiple adjacent sites. The campground's pet policy allows dogs throughout the camping areas, though pets must remain leashed at all times. Clean bathroom facilities, multiple playgrounds, and a swimming pool complement the pet-friendly accommodations.
Hiking trails throughout Dale Hollow State Park welcome leashed dogs, with Eagle Point Trail offering particularly scenic lake views suitable for pet walks. Lillydale Campground, located nearby on the Tennessee side of Dale Hollow Lake, provides another excellent option for camping with pets, featuring waterfront sites where dogs can access the shoreline. The campground's island tent camping area creates a unique opportunity for primitive camping with pets in a more secluded setting, though campers should note they'll need to use provided carts to transport gear from the parking area. Multiple campers mentioned that both campgrounds maintain clean facilities and the open areas provide ample space for pets to exercise while remaining on leash. The Dale Hollow region's limited shoreline development creates a natural setting ideal for pet owners seeking outdoor recreation with minimal crowds.
"Outside Jamestown,Ky on Rt 127 it is easy to find and well worth the drive. The Wolf Creek Fish Hatchery is in the same area below the dam of Lake Cumberland."
"Nestled in the trees near the Cumberland Lake, and dam, this is a beautiful place to relax."

"The only issue I had with this camp was the way the sites were situated. They were in sets, like a cul-de-sac shape, and put you really close to your neighbors. "
from $35 - $70 / night
Check Availability"We stayed at site #61 - the lake was literally steps away from our door, and it was a no wake zone (the lake comes to a dead-end back by this row of campsites, so there isn't a lot of boat traffic)."
"Lillydale sits on Dale Hollow Lake, which -- for some delightful reason -- has serious limits on development."
from $18 - $50 / night

"Nice level campgrounds very close to the water."
from $22 - $56 / night
Check Availability"Standing stone is a small campground that sits in a wooded area surrounded by green rolling hills and farmland."
"Dog friendly. It is on the top of the hill, so prepare to hike to the lake. There are trails along the lake, and shortcut trails through the woods, mostly narrow and washed out."
"Added plus, these bathrooms are super nice and with several locations next to lots of camp plots. Also, dog friendly and within a short drive of the Big South Fork for all you Yakers 😀✌️"
"I camped here with a friend and the dogs. The campground is pretty big and has 4 loops. We were in Loop C and our campsite was pretty spacious and private (not all are)."
from $20 - $140 / night
Check Availability"We did drive around the campground area though for future reference and were not sad about our choice to stay in the lodge."
"**This is a larger state park that includes a restaurant, golf course, pool, etc. but also some nice trails to enjoy the natural beauty of the area."

Family oriented, pet friendly, peaceful with playground for the kids and lots of nature to explore.
We will absolutely be back! I’ll be honest, as a visibly queer person with rainbow hair I was a bit nervous about the Bible verses and Christian flag due to past experiences, but Patrick and Angelica were welcoming and friendly the entire time!
The RV spot with shade was great! It’s right next to the bathroom but everyone is spread out enough it wasn’t an issue at all.
Strong WiFi, pet friendly, and a beautiful, peaceful spot with very friendly owners!
We camped here over the weekend with our dogs. The campground is actually not in Tennessee. It's located on the Kentucky side of Big South Fork. The campsites have a picnic table and a firepit. Our campsite was very nice and private with a big grassy area. The bathhouse was nice and clean. There are hiking trails nearby and access to a small mining village. We would definitely camp here again.
The campground has all of the glamping necessities. Water hook-up, electrical, dumping station, clean hot water showers, etc. It's pet friendly and the campground is very clean. The location is excellent for those who love rock climbing (sport and trad), easy and moderate level hiking, white water kayaking, or maybe want to spend a day or two also doing some backcountry camping. There are bears and other curious wildlife so make sure to keep your stuff in the provided bear boxes!
We stayed here on a whim when we weren't able to paddle the Green River in Mammoth Cave National Park due to high water levels. We did a little research and found ourselves here for a few nights. The campground is a bit older than some but the sites are well maintained for the most part. Unfortunately, there had been a great deal of rain so things were quite muddy but our site seemed to drain well.
We weren't able to see the famous "moonbow" but the falls were quite beautiful. Sadly, there is a massive amount of trash at the bottom (as you can see in the pictures posted here) which takes away from the natural appearance of the falls. The falls area does get quite crowded so be prepared to bob and weave around the crowd.
There is easy access near by to paddle the relatively calm water (mostly class I and a bit of class II) above the falls. You can contact a local outfitter to arrange a shuttle if needed.
The park has a few nearby natural attractions that offered good views. The facility is pet friendly and has a nice little camp store. I would stay here again if I was in the area.
This property is clean, quiet, family and pet friendly. Each tent and RV stall has its own picnic table and fire pit, spacing out each stall so it has fair privacy. If you don't care to grill or have a sandwich or ice cream at the general store on site the friendly owner will tell you where to eat in town (Cookeville). The entrance to the state park is across the street from the general store. All of the facilities you need are here, but I do have one critique, that is the smart light in the Women's restroom turns off after 20 seconds, I think it would be better to set it to 5 minutes. Otherwise it was a perfect stay.
Easy to find, well marked. It’s has many (12) trails and many falls. Would definitely recommend shopping before camping, it’s several miles, and mountains, to get to stores. There are several lodging options…cottages, The Lodge, (which is beautiful) tent and RV camping. There are 2 small campgrounds ~ 1) Ridgeline which accommodates RVs up to 26”, water and 10/30/50 amp hook ups. Sites have a fire ring and picnic table. WiFi is available, and there is a dump station. A small playground, office/campstore, and a bathhouse and laundry next to it. 3 sites are walk-in. Big rigs would have to stay elsewhere. 2) Clifty Campground is tent camping only 7 sites offer electric and water. WiFi is also offered. There is a bathhouse and a playground, and these CG’s are pet friendly. (Falls Creek is a few miles up the road…they have pull through and back ins. For bigger Rvs. They also have tents, wagons, cabin rentals, and primitive sites) We had no T-Mobile service, or satellite service in our vehicle. The trails and Cumberland falls were awesome. The horse rides looked amazing, and the Pool was big, with a diving board, and a small fee for campers to use it.
We had such a lovely stay at Born Again. We were genuinely surprised to be the only guests over Memorial Day weekend! Peggy was an absolute gem - so kind, generous, and truly someone with a heart of gold. It’s clear she has poured so much love and care into the campground, and it shows in every detail. The entire place is perfectly eclectic, charming, and delightfully quirky.
Her sweet dog, Lily, kept us company throughout our stay and quickly won our hearts. We also had visits from Boots the cat, who was just as friendly and welcoming. Peggy kindly let us peek into each of the themed cabins, and it was easy to see the thoughtfulness and creativity behind every space. Each cabin felt carefully curated to match its theme, making the experience even more special.
Her husband, Tony, also stopped by to say hello, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, this was such a special place, and we already can’t wait for our next visit.
We just stayed over night. Our site was very un-level and could not get the camper to auto level. We put our surge protector on and the power at the site kept shorting out. We managed to get slides out then it shorted out. Turned breakers back on to turn on a/c and it blew again. The campground is down a very long road then once you register it’s another long drive back to the sites, which is nothing but trees. Sites are roomy. Gravel roads. It has a beautiful lake with benches to sit on and a nice walk way. It was just too hot to enjoy it. It’s a beautiful campground but the rules are just too much. Not that we would do any of these things without being told not too, but the speed limit is 10. 1 warning and your kicked out. There’s a big paragraph just on what your pets can’t do. Its 2 pages of rules. I realize they need to have rules but to write them all down with threats of a fine is just excessive.
Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park accommodates pets throughout its circular camping pods designed for groups and families. This Kentucky state park features spacious sites with full hookups, clean facilities, and shaded areas ideal for dogs during summer months. McDermit RV Park, newly established with 15 RV sites, allows pets with owners living on-site to ensure compliance with pet policies. Most campgrounds in the region require leashes and provide designated pet waste disposal areas. Tent camping and RV sites with electric hookups accommodate pet owners, while select cabins at Dale Hollow and Standing Stone State Park permit pets with additional cleaning fees. Campers note that the sites at Dale Hollow are arranged in cul-de-sac formations that create community spaces where children and pets can safely play.
Tuscarora Glade offers primitive tent camping where dogs can enjoy stargazing in one of the few globally recognized Dark Sky areas with minimal light pollution. Trails at Dale Hollow provide dog-friendly hiking opportunities with Eagle Point offering exceptional views for hikers with pets. Multiple campgrounds provide immediate water access for dogs that enjoy swimming, particularly Lillydale Campground where numerous lakeside sites allow campers to launch kayaks and paddleboards with their pets directly from their campsite. Dale Hollow's restriction on shoreline development creates a natural environment with clean water and minimal boat traffic, ideal for pets sensitive to noise. Multiple playgrounds, swimming pools, and extensive hiking trails throughout the region provide exercise options for both campers and their pets. Lillydale's island tent camping area requires transporting gear via cart, but rewards pet owners with unmatched lake views and peaceful camping conditions.
