Free camp for 10 days every 60 days. Campsites had water, power, access to restrooms. Open April 1 to Oct 15!
We stopped for one night. $40, had full hook up, pretty level gravel site. Bathroom shower houses are OK did well for what we wanted. Only thing that might bother some people is there is a train track right beside the campground. This could be charming and rustic, or just annoying noise, depending on your point of view. It was warm, we had the AC on, didn’t bother us. It’s an older campground and it shows, but we were pleased.
Easy access from highway. Most sites are 30 amp back in with 4 30/50 posts marked with pull thru. Showers and restrooms at swimming pool a block north. Dump at entrance of campsite. Water hydrants but not at all sites. Would stay again for quite overnight stay. August 10, 2024 $15 night Dropbox
Good for families or a solo cowboy. Well maintained, water is a available, and clean bathrooms that smell good. Nice picnic areas. Primitive tent sites and RV sites with electrical hookups. First come, first serve.
Reserve online, reasonably priced. One week stay in this little park, close to Junction City and Fort Riley. Full hookups in pull- thru half circle asphalt tar or back-in sites. Close to Hwy 70 with some noise. Laundry/shower area available.
Jake from the Dyrt here! We're excited to have this campground on the Dyrt and ready for you to book, check them out and make sure to leave a review!
A sweet little city park in a sweet little city. Electric hookups. Water available at a central pump. Bathrooms were closed for the season Nov. 20 when I was here.
Needed to be in the area for a few days.
Nice concrete pads large enough for our fifth wheel.
50amp water electric for $20
Park is free. With hookups. Cute little town. Lots to see. Wish there were more of these out there
This park campground was a great stop for a night as we drove through Nebraska. Safe, clean, and nearly full by the time we parked early-evening on a Friday. Beatrice's website says "20 camping sites (3 pull-through)" and I would consider these to be geared toward RVs/vans, not so much toward tenting.
Sites are nice; although very exposed to the neighbor and close together. It was really windy. Almost all sites in the b loop on the lake. Bathrooms clean. Not sure if there is a shower somewhere.
As you enter the park off of 10th street the bathroom and dump station are on the right. 3 spots have electric. 2 were taken when we arrived. Donations accepted ( how could you not) there were a couple of potable water spigots available. Previous reviews were spot on. Great little town. For the tent campers there are 5 spots with 20 amp power plugs also.
Camp hosts fantastic! $20/night full hookup. Nice shower. Quiet. Great for Starlink.
Camphost drives on his four wheeler drinking. Allows people to ride their boats and jets skis near the bank where people are fishing. Threatened our dog. Told us this is a recreational lake for boats and not fishing. No atvs allowed but he drinks and rides his all day. Very dangerous with toue kids running around. Not recommended
Very nice place, sites are not well marked. You have to climb the curb to get to the site, and its dirt, with some grass, and lots of nice trees. We had electric at our site and they did have water available in March, dump station is nearby as well. Bathrooms where closed.
There’s a sewage dump station the next camping loop over (Hickory Hollow) if you can’t stay at a space with a sewage hookup. Pull through and back in spaces, decent amount of shade at almost every spot, primitive and RV/Camper sites. There’s even a firewood crate ($7). Close to trails and we even saw 2 deer on our way to park. Gorgeous fall leaves this time of year (October). Water has a slight sulfur smell, but who’s sink in KS doesn’t.
Beautiful setting. 3 sites with water & electric. If not using electric then free. Bath house with hot water & heat & flush toilets. No showers.
While traveling from Alabama to Colorado I stopped at West Rolling Hills. Since it was Labor Day weekend the campground was crowded. I ended up in my tent next to R.V.'s. Despite these things I enjoyed the stay so much I made it two nights. The facilities were clean, showers and bathrooms were well maintained. Folks were friendly. I'd recommend this as a good spot to stay if traveling.
Broadcasting this now because I was not aware when I showed up: there are only two designated tent sites in this entire campground. However, both these sites are clean, beautiful, and located near the trail that takes you to the (honestly very well-presented) adjacent historical park. Out of the two Nebraska state recreation areas I stayed at on my trip through the state, this one is definitely my favorite. I would give it 3.5 stars, but the coin-operated showers knock it down to a 3.
Has a pool marina and bar/restaurant. Lodging from yurts to big cabins.
We went kayaking and playing on the beach. We booked the buddy sites to have an extra large site beside the beach area and it was worth it. All sites seemed well kept and level. Only downside is the blue-green algae made it unsafe to swim but that is not a fault of the campground. Boat ramp was close and boats were able to anchor on the beach at night for campers to easily launch near the campground.
Great activities to do in lake and a fun splash pad for the kids. Lots of trails and equestrian trails to hike. Fishing was fun and I believe the lake is regularly stocked. Will stay here again.
If you’re ever near Stromsberg NE, this is THE town to stop in. Campground is in and near Buckley park. We stayed in the older campground, which had electric, shade trees, a bathroom ( not a pit toilet) with a sink and soap. But upon walking the area we found the newer, As of late last year, campground. That one even has a water hook up for every site. Both grounds have a host and are lit at night for security, but look up the town, rated A + in the US for crime rate. Walking the town it feels as if I walked back in time. Pay phones, bikes in their stands left unlocked, everyone says hi. I can’t say enough about this town. But bring cash if you want to purchase almost anything, as many of businesses do not accept CC or debit cards. It all works on the donation system, so give what you can.
We love this spot, for tent or cabin camping, Mill Creek is a minute walk away, you can swim, kayak, fish, or just lounge around. They have a little restaurant and it’s reasonable priced and delicious. 5 stars!
lots of hookups and places to rent camp. pretty bodies of water. not a bad spot
Many lakefront sites, scenic & quiet. Very windy during our stay. A great place to just come & relax.
Junction City about 15 minutes away for groceries & services.
B loop closed for now, don't know why but those lakefront sites look great.
This town owned lake and campground were a true delight. The campground is well kept and delivers all you could hope for. Quiet and birds. There are electic hook ups and water. It's a hidden gem with relatively light use. There was no one there the night during the week in April. The ranger said that weekends get heavy use during Memorial day thru labor day but there are still usually spots available and during the week use is very light. if you are in the area it's a great spot to stop.
