Best RV Parks & Resorts near Blue Rapids, KS

Several RV parks surround Blue Rapids, Kansas, providing convenient options for motorhome travelers. Oregon Trail RV Park in Westmoreland offers big-rig friendly sites with full hookups including 50-amp service, while Acorn RV Resort in Milford features spacious pull-through sites with water, electric, and sewer connections. Just north in Marysville, the City Park provides limited RV camping with 30/50-amp electric hookups and water, though spaces are few. "We initially thought oh what a great overnight spot but have found this to be so much more! Limited spots with 30/50 amp are available, they are pull off as in drive over the curb and park," notes one RV camper about Marysville City Park. Agenda Lane RV Park, though small with only three sites, accommodates large rigs with full hookup capabilities including both 30 and 50-amp service.

Seasonal considerations affect RV camping availability throughout the region. Most parks remain open year-round, though Milford State Park campgrounds experience occasional flooding during rainy seasons, limiting site availability. Dump stations are present at most locations, with Marysville City Park and Oregon Trail RV Park offering this essential service for travelers. Cell service varies by location but remains generally strong near Junction City and Manhattan areas. Pet policies are typically accommodating, with most RV parks allowing pets on leash. Reservations are recommended during summer months and holiday weekends when parks fill quickly. One traveler noted about Stockdale campground: "Well maintained, gravel sites with good electric and water hookups. Dump station also provided attached hose to allow black tank flush. Verizon cell service and digital TV signal were strong."

Rocky Ford Campground — Tuttle Creek State Park

    Rocky Ford campground space 141

Very shady, right off the water. A little steep to actually get to the waters edge. Fire rings with grills and picnic table. Lantern hook with water and 30 & 50 amp electric hookups. Back in spot would be a little tight for a bigger travel trailer but not bad.

    River Pond State Park Campground

    Nice State Park

The is a nice clean Kansas State Park. Lots of shady spots. Easy access to walking trails and water activities. Fire pits and picnic tables at every site. Most sites are only water and electric. There are only a half dozen or so full hook up sites and they are generally always full during camping season. There are two dump stations on site. This park is close to home for us and we camp here often.

    Mill creek campground

    Charming Campground with Railroad History

This is a charming little campground, and I do not use the word“charming” often. It is charming because it has so many quaint relics of the past, including the town itself. At the entrance to the campground, there is a building covered with old signs, hubcaps, etc. As a photographer, I couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity begin taking pictures immediately. As we drove down the road to our campsite, we came across such oddities as a bicycle halfway up a windmill, an old original train depot with an antique threshing machine next to it, and more. The campsites are flat and fairly spacious. We were lucky that the campground was not at full capacity because many of the sites are in pairs. Our pull-through site was within inches of the adjacent pull-through site. Although there was no picnic table at our site, we could have used one on the adjacent site, and we brought our own table. The site did have a fire pit, but we arrived late and didn’t have time to worry about getting wood. There are seasonal and permanent campers at the campground, and you have to reserve early during peak seasons. I talked to one person at the campground and he said that it was booked up one time when he wanted to stay. Although the site we got was gravel and pull-through, there are sites without power by the creek, in case you want to tent camp or just don’t need hookups. The bath house was clean, and the owner told me that it is sanitized every day. The shower stalls are spacious and there is hot water. There is a playground for kids and activities for older people—basketball, corn hole, etc. The only drawback is that you can hear trains passing through during the night about three or four times. It didn’t bother me since I love the sound of trains, but it does wake you up since the tracks are so close to the campground. The town is within walking distance of the campground, and it is worth walking(or driving) to it. The buildings are interesting architecturally, and the town is known for antiques. Overall, I really liked this campground. It may not have all of the amenities of the larger campgrounds, but it is quiet(except for the trains) and peaceful.

    Stockdale

    Secluded ACOE Campground

Well maintained, gravel sites with good electric and water hookups. Dump station also provided attached hose to allow black tank flush. Verizon cell service and digital TV signal were strong. Visited Manhattan, KS and Oz Museum in Wamego, KS. Plenty to do in the area and this campground provided a nice, secluded base. Boat ramps available to allow access to Kansas’ 2nd largest lake.

    Sabetha Lake

    Nice fishing lake-beautiful view

Sebetha lake is located a few minutes from the town of Sebetha and is a nice area for camping. The camp sites are Electric and Water on gravel. For Rvers There is a group of campsites when you first come in which are not shaded very well, but there are some scattered sites around the lake that are nicely shaded. We were in site 14 with our door facing the lake. What a beautiful view! We had a fire ring, a raised grill, picnic table, and trash barrel. The grounds are well maintained. For primitive camping there are sites scattered around lake which woul make good single or group sites. There is a cement bathroom by the permit station which has vault toilets and was not something I would feel comfortable using. It looks as if they would be the Emergency shelter. It would take a really big emergency for me to go in them. Outside the bathrooms were 2 nice picnic tables under a shelter.

The lake offers boating, canoeing, jet skiing, nice nature trails, bird-wildlife viewing, scenic drive, and beautiful lake views. There was hardly any traffic going by our area so it was mostly quiet with an exceptional train in the distance. All and all a nice experience.

Woodland Hills — Milford State Park

    Cute place!

There’s a sewage dump station the next camping loop over (Hickory Hollow) if you can’t stay at a space with a sewage hookup. Pull through and back in spaces, decent amount of shade at almost every spot, primitive and RV/Camper sites. There’s even a firewood crate ($7). Close to trails and we even saw 2 deer on our way to park. Gorgeous fall leaves this time of year (October). Water has a slight sulfur smell, but who’s sink in KS doesn’t.

Prairie View — Milford State Park

Campground Flooded With Limited Site Availability (as of September 2019)

When visiting Milford State Park one of the first camping loops you find is Prairie View Campground which is why many find it so appealing.   It has great cell signal, close proximity to the front office and highway and borders upon the lake.    But with that lake access also comes a very scary reality during rainy season.   This campground is prone to lower sites flooding when rains are abundant.    However no one could have prepared for massive rains which took an already vulnerable large campground and turned it into a very small limited access site.

Of the campgrounds available at Milford Lake this is one of the few which remain open despite waters swelling and swallowing the majority of the camp during the 2019 season.

Campsites offer electricity and picnic tables with a variety of styles of sites including pull through and back in.    However with man of these underwater it is hard to find a site currently that feels safe and high enough to merit camping here.

This campground has a lot of promise with their facility.    There is plenty of shade in the area making for a very comfortable stay when not experiencing rising waters.   There is firewood available from the campground host as you enter the campground and 2 loops for camping offer plenty of options during peak season.

Currently there are less than 10 sites available at this location, road is barricaded and the waters are literally in the backyard of all sites as it has created a peninsula.

Typically there is shore access for fishing in this campground.

    TIPS:

    • Call ahead before visiting this park as a whole to check conditions.  With limited locations for camping currently available you will be happier by checking in advance rather than coming and experiencing being turned away.
    • Book online or pay at the pay station with cash.    No cards are accepted at the pay station and mostly of the time there is no one in the check in booth at the gate.
