Best RV Parks & Resorts near Spirit Lake, IA

Several RV parks surround Spirit Lake, Iowa with modern amenities for travelers. Emerson Bay State Recreation Area Campground offers RV sites with 30/50-amp electric hookups, water, and sewer connections on level gravel pads. "Sites are well maintained, bathrooms are IMPECCABLE someone was out cleaning the shower house at 11pm one night," noted one visitor about Emerson Bay. Marble Beach State Recreation Area Campground, open April through December, provides full-hookup sites for big rigs though some spots slope toward the lake. Cenla RV Park accommodates large motorhomes with electric, water, and sewer hookups during their mid-April to mid-October season, while Fieldstone RV Park in nearby Arnolds Park features pull-through RV pads with 50-amp service.

Reservations are essential during summer months when the Iowa Great Lakes region experiences peak tourism. Most campgrounds near Spirit Lake provide sanitary dump stations, though Cenla and Fieldstone RV Parks lack shower facilities. Site terrain varies considerably throughout the area, with one RV owner reporting, "Our site sloped down toward the lake; had to use our traction boards to level the van as best we can." For motorhome travelers seeking lakefront camping, both Emerson Bay and Marble Beach offer direct water access with boat ramps. Cell service remains reliable throughout most Spirit Lake campgrounds. Winter camping options are limited, with only Emerson Bay extending availability through December. Pet policies vary by location, with most parks allowing leashed pets except for Cenla RV Park which prohibits animals.

The Grotto of the Redemption RV Park

    Very Nice, Excellent Value

The Grotto is interesting and inspiring. Admission is free. Two adjacent camping areas are partially shaded and will accommodate rigs of all sizes. I counted (8) 50 amp and (16) 30 amp sites. Rest rooms, showers, fresh water and a dump station are provided. The cost is $20 per night. Sites are offered on a first come first served basis. Thirty amp sites are on lush grass and include a view of a the grotto, a pond and surrounding residences. The 50 amp area offers more privacy, gravel pull through parking and more convenient shower and rest room access but a lightly used rail line runs by.

The Grotto of the Redemption RV Park

Nice place to stop while visiting the Grotto

We stayed at the Grotto of the Redemption RV park for two nights. We were in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. We had no problems getting a spot here. There are two areas. One is very close to a train line, which runs infrequently. Sites are grass, level, and reasonably well maintained. All sites are pull through. Only electrical hookups are available at the sites. This is in good condition. There is fresh water and a dump station available. Each site has a nice grassy area and there are plenty of large trees. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a park nearby with a playground.

The RV park is near the Grotto. The Grotto is a fascinating achievement worth a look if you are in the area.

We had 2 bar LTE with Verizon. Our hotspot was usable and performed very well. Campground wifi was not available.

We enjoyed our brief stay at this campground. We will stay again when traveling this way.

    Worth a Stop

Very polite staff. Roads are nice. Facilities are clean. Sites are pull through but are set up with utilities for back in sites. $40 a night. It looked like some campers were extended stays. Good Verizon signal and right off Interstate 90.

    Tuttle Lake Park

    Nice

Clean well maintained bath house with showers. My site was 30 amp. Water and dump are separate..$20 I stayed in a 26' B+. All sites are back in on grass. Heavy big rigs could sink if wet. None are very level. Length no a problem. 3 bars at&t.quiet out of the way place on a nice lake. Lake view obscured by trees. I would stay here again

    Voss Park City Campground

    Great holiday campaite

Park is privately owned and operated but shares a park with the city. Big events during holidays. Sites are well spaced for campers and renters alike. Has 50 amp, 30 amp and 20 amp services as well as boondocks sites. Dump station at park with blue tote available from the office. Kids love the park and lake!

    Jackson KOA

Alright but not the best for a KOA

We go in early in the afternoon after traveling from Madison WI.

The KOA seemed alright but I was very disappointed in the long term/ Full time RVs parked there.  Some were alright but a couple of pretty dumping ones.

They were not full and I can understand the reason.

The facilities seemed to be well maintained.  The pool and playground were very nice and the sites we stayed around were fine.  It was just those few trailers that gave it that run downed feeling. If they took care of those even made them clean the area around them and wash them it  would go up a star or 2.

The internet was iffy again and I guess we will just have to live with that though I did expect more from a KOA.

That night they did have live entertainment but we did not know about it until they started to play.  It was locals I think that lived there and was like a jam session.

    Mill Creek State Park

    Very family Friendly

Very modern campground with part time resident hosts.  Rangers are also available. 4 modern cabins and 48 sites with water, electric , cable tv. internet, and separate dump station. Snack bar and a nice sand beach on the premises.   A very  nice playground for the kids.  Small lake where boating is permitted but no gas motors.  Also nice for canoeing, kayaking or  fishing. Nice paths for hiking or biking. Only half mile to town where you can get anything you need

Marble Beach State Recreation Area Campground

    Close enough to Okoboji

Excellent Campground!, Easy driving distance to Arnold's Park. Campground is Clean, Showers/Bathrooms are new and modern. Full Hookups are easy to use. many spots in the Oak Woods. Good place for Bicycling, 4 miles mostly bike path to town. Around Spirit Lake is a nice 16 miles bike ride. I rated 4 stars, because there is a little traffic noise, and the lake is a little weedy.
