Lewis and Clark State Park Campground

      Easy parking but no shade.

This park is only 1.8 miles west of the highway and is right on the river. Unfortunately, all the large cottonwood trees have been cut down so there is no shade. There is no map posted at the campground, but the lowest numbered spaces are nearest to the bath house which was clean and had hot water that stopped to let you lather up, then press the knob to make it start again. I appreciated the electric service given the hot temps!

      The Place RV park

great spot in middle of nowhere!

The owners of this RV park are super nice and own the hotel as well. I stayed in a hotel spot for better wifi thru the storms. They were super accommodating and I'd come here again! Pet friendly and they have a coin laundromat on site too!

      Jones Pond

      very quiet little pond

saw a dad and son fishing in the first pullout. I went down to where the pavilion was and parked there for the night. didn't see anyone else. I like how you can get here by mostly paved roads and just a short gravel drive (half a mile max) to parking spot.

      A serene spot

A nice private camp, no other campers on a Fri night in July. We camped just as you pull in, right next to drive that goes into the cemetery. The upper field to the right was quite overgrown.

Black Hawk Cabin — Black Hawk State Park

      Black Hawk State Park

We stay here as much as we can. There is lots of trees with a bit of shade at most all sites. You can camp at the waters’ edge. We love to fish and can fish off the back of our RV. Most sites are spacious, some a bit smaller. It only has electric hook ups, but you can fill up with a hose at water sites. Has a dump spot by bathrooms. Bath and toilets are clean. Over Al this camp is our favorite!

      July 26

The tree was blocking the road to the pin so I set up next to the state forest sign. Very peaceful and serene. People who live here are very friendly and helpful. Love this spot though. Still perfect for a quiet night.

      Wide Opened Spaces

Loved this location! I gave it a shot after reading the reviews. I went during the summer in July and would love to have seen it during the winter. I would suggest for those with a trailer like mine wait till spring or fall to see if the grass have come down to have a better clearance and view of the ground to know how to get around.

      Lovely, isolated little spot

It took a lot of driving to get back in here, but the payoff was a lovely little isolated, three or 4 acres of grass and hardwood trees by a sweet little cemetery of the hill.
