One of the least populated states in America, Idaho is the third state that makes up the Pacific Northwest—besides Oregon and Washington. In the middle of southern Idaho lies Shoshone Falls, a series of huge cascades on the Snake River sometimes referred to as the “Niagara of the West”. The Snake River meanders its way further west, making up the northern part of the Oregon and Idaho border, and flows through massive Hells Canyon.      Nestled in the beautiful Cub River Canyon, Cub River Lodge& RV Park is a peaceful, rural family-owned lodge/campground about 15 minutes' drive from the quaint town of Preston, ID, 25 minutes from Logan, Utah and only two hours from airports in Salt Lake City, UT and Pocatello, ID.  

     Located within 1/4 mile of Cache National Forest playground…ATV, hiking, biking, horse,& snowmobile trails have intrigued many an outdoor enthusiast! One might also enjoy plenty of fishing, boating, skiing and tubing in nearby rivers, lakes& reservoirs. Wintertime sports include snowmobiling, snowshoeing, in the National Forest, or tubing and snow skiing at nearby Cherry Peak or Beaver Mountain Resorts. 

     The Cub River Lodge & RV Park is actually built on the historic "watercress springs" area, next door to the famous, mystic Deer Cliff Mountain. The views are breath-taking and the nights very peaceful as you sit around a campfire, looking at the spectacular starlit sky, while listening to the amazing sounds of nature and the nearby Cub River bubbling over the rocks. 

     Cub River Lodge is a beautiful, spacious 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom vacation rental cabin. This comfortable Lodge has 6,700 square feet of living space and can sleep a min. of 63 people. It has a large kitchen/prep area with 3 separate stoves/ovens, a stainless steel island, 2 full size refrigerators and all the necessary cooking& eating utensils. The main focal point of this Lodge is the large “conference center” with hardwood floors,(look like a dance floor, with ability to seat over 150), complete with surround sound and audio/visual capabilities. The adjoining theatre room has a big-screen TV, Clavinova piano, foosball table, with plenty of comfortable chairs and couches. The front entry of the Lodge sports another very large sitting area where guests can gather to converse and relax from the laughter& chatter in other rooms. A small dining room attached to the kitchen will accommodate up to 30 guests, with overflow into the conference center. 

     Open year-round, one can come relax, renting a room or the whole lodge. Cub River Lodge is perfect for groups of all sizes and ages, be it family reunions, youth retreats, scrap bookers, quilters, dancers or business seminars, you name it! Many have also enjoyed our facilities for indoor/outdoor weddings and as a great sweetheart get-away!  

     Cub River RV Park offers(11) full hook-up RV Sites (30 or 50 amp), and lots of dry camping area for RVs, "hip camping", tenting, etc. We can handle large family or group gatherings if booking early. Plenty of clear, mountain spring water, grassy area and shade. The Lodge may have suites or whole lodge rentals available for your larger group gatherings also if desired.  

     Outdoor activities include volleyball, tetherball,(a must for Napoleon Dynamite Country!), a horseshoe pit and water play. Nearby lakes and reservoirs provide hours of entertainment, fishing, boating, jet-skiing, and tubing. Tubing down the "Oneida Narrows" has been a highlight of many groups. And one must not forget to mention that for the adventurous type, hunkering for some off-road escapades, there are miles of groomed ATV, biking, hiking, horse, snowshoe& snowmobile trails within 1/4 mile of Cub River Lodge& RV Park in one of the most amazing "outdoor playgrounds", the Cache National Forest. Guests can bring their "toys" along with them, riding right from the RV Park!  Wintertime sports include snowmobiling, snowshoeing, in the National Forest, or tubing and snow skiing at nearby Cherry Peak or Beaver Mountain Resorts.

     The Deer Cliff Inn restaurant next door serves a wide range of hot, yummy evening meals during the summer months. ## Overview

Summit View Campground is located eight miles east of U.S. Highway 30, near Georgetown, Idaho. It is in a forested setting, high in the Bear River Range. Visitors enjoy exploring area trails, including the Great Western Trail, and picking seasonal wild huckleberries.

## Recreation

Summit View sits within the Great Western Trail corridor, which offers excellent hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicle riding opportunities. The Harrington Peak trail, a 3.5-mile one-way trail to the summit, begins within the campground.

## Facilities

The campground contains 18 single-family campsites and three group sites. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided. An amphitheater is on-site. Roads and parking spurs within the campground are dirt.

## Natural Features

The campground is situated in a lodgepole pine forest, where summer grasses and wildflowers are plentiful. During the fall, wild huckleberries can be found in abundance throughout the campground.

## Overview

Emigration Campground is located in 17 miles west of Montpelier, Idaho, just off State Highway 36 in Emigration Canyon. Visitors enjoy exploring the nearby Highline Trail and fishing on local streams.

## Recreation

The Highline National Recreation Trail is adjacent to the campground and is considered the premier trail of the Montpelier District. It is open to hikers, bikers, horseback riders, motorcyclists and off-road vehicle riders. The trail stretches 55 miles along the backbone of the Bear River Range and intersects many other trails on the west side of the district. 

## Facilities

The campground offers 20 single-family sites, three double-family sites and two group sites. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Roads to and within the campground are paved, and several sites can accommodate 40-foot trailers with pull vehicle.   
  
Group Site 3 (RCD) was recently added to the facility and is 1.5 miles west of the main campground on Highway 36. The site has vault toilets and drinking water. A picnic shelter with multiple tables and campfire rings, and small amphitheater are available. Roads and parking areas are gravel.

## Natural Features

The campground is situated in a quiet canyon forested with pine, spruce and aspen trees. Summer wildflowers dot the landscape and grasses cover the area. Wild huckleberries are abundant in mid-August.

Emigration Campground

## Overview

Diamond Creek Guard Station is located 30 miles east of Soda Springs, Idaho. The current building was constructed in the early 1990a??s as a snowmobile warming hut.   
  
The cabin is accessible by car in warmer months and by snowmobile in winter. The cabin provides a few conveniences; however, guests should be prepared to bring the supplies and equipment they need to make their stay more comfortable.

## Recreation

The Bear Canyon OHV Trail is about two miles north of the guard station . Hikers and mountain bikers will also find trails nearby. The area surrounding the cabin is a playground for snowmobilers and skiers in the winter months.   
  
Anglers can fish in nearby Diamond Creek. The surrounding area also attracts big game and game bird hunters. 

## Facilities

The guard station has a maximum capacity of 15 people. There are a total of four beds. Please bring your own sleeping pad and bedding. There are also two small lofts that provide an additional sleeping area. A wood stove heats the cabin. A vault toilet and picnic table is located outside.   
  
No water or electricity is available at the cabin. Guests will need to supply their own water for drinking, washing and cooking. Bedding, cookware, kitchen utensils and emergency supplies are not provided.   
  
Guests are required to bring garbage bags to pack out their trash. The cabin should be cleaned before leaving; guests should bring some cleaning supplies. 

## Natural Features

**The cabin sits in a meadow at an elevation of 6,900 feet surrounded by the peaks of Dry Ridge and the Webster sub-range in southeastern Idaho. Stands of aspen and lodgepole pine dot the landscape.  
  
Wildlife in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest includes black bears, wolves, elk, moose, mule deer, bison, grizzly bears , mountain lions and pronghorn. **

## Overview

Johnson Guard Station is located 30 miles east of Soda Springs, Idaho, on a site that was established in 1910. The current building was constructed in 1934, and is named after James J. Johnson, who served as ranger of the Georgetown Ranger District from 1907-1913. It's been used for various purposes over the years, from serving as summer headquarters to housing work crews.  
  
The cabin is accessible by car in warmer months and by snowmobile in winter. The cabin provides a few conveniences, so guests should be prepared to bring the supplies and equipment they need to make their stay more comfortable. 

## Recreation
