Best RV Parks & Resorts near Rigby, ID

Several full-hookup RV parks operate within 30 miles of Rigby, Idaho, providing options for both overnight stays and extended visits. Snake River RV Park & Campground in Idaho Falls accommodates big rigs with water, sewer, and electric (including 50-amp service) on gravel sites. Yellowstone Lakeside RV Park offers pull-through sites with water and electric connections, though site spacing can be tight with shared utility pedestals. Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park features level concrete pads with 50-amp service and sewer hookups across its 59 sites. Sugar City RV Park maintains 25 RV-specific sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electric options but prohibits campfires. "The sites are relatively level, but are open. North Bingham County Park

Nice Quiet Park - $45/night for Non Resident

The park is nice and clean, appears to be recently paved or resurfaced.  The spots are relatively level. Restrooms are clean and nice shower is large.  The 12 pull through sites have 20/30/50 Amp outlets and potable water and each has its own picnic table.  The dump station is just past the sites there is a seprate potable water fill 50' from the dump station which has its own hoses and water for flushing tanks.

There are two areas of grass designated as tent sites with in ground fire rings and there is one shared elevated charcoal grill.

As of July 2025 the nightly rate is $25/night for Bingham County Residents and $45/night for Non-Residents.  There are envelopes for payment (cash or check only) at the front gate and inside the envelope is an information sheet with the bathroom codes.

    - AT&T Service is 3 bars and bounces between 5G+ and LTE my speedtest showed 10.38 Mbps Download

    - Starlink is partially obstructed in all of the pull throughs with ~15 outages greater than 2s in 15 minutes but has download speeds of 157.93 Mbps when not obstructed.

    - T-Mobile is 3 bars of 5G and my speediest showed 310.58 Mbps download speed.

    Yellowstone Lakeside RV Park

Friendly owner and nice place to stop a short distance from Idaho Falls

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and having been fairly remote for a while, needed to hit a few big box stores to stock up in things. The CG is undergoing and expansion and is the area we stayed in, which got rather sloppy when it rained. We were in site W-5 for 2 days in late July. This area is all gravel and only a few of the sites were complete enough to be open. The sites all looked very level, but are open. All of the pull-through sites, existing and expansion, are oriented such that every other pair pull through in opposite directions and share utilities, which results in slide-outs only being a few feet apart in most cases. The new back-in sites along the periphery are roomier in between. There is a little road noise from US-20, but not excessive. AT&T coverage good, with 4 Bars of LTE with service up to 14.5 MB/s. They have a tower right across the highway. The CG WiFi was decent with speeds up to 1.8 MB/s, but generally in the 100s of MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 13 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

    Jefferson County Lake

Most beautiful RV campground near Rexburg

We just discovered this campground because we drove by it. I have no idea why it never comes up when you do a Google search for campgrounds near Rexburg. We are so glad we found it. It's by far the most beautiful RV campground in the whole area. Each spot has a concrete pad, a fire ring and a picnic table. It has water and electric but no sewer or dump station. However, Lakeside RV a block away has a dump station for $5 and there is a Sinclair nearby that also has a dump station for $5 and they refill propane tanks and I hear they have the best prices around. It's 10 minutes south of Rexburg. You can stay as long as you want but you can only book for 6 nights in a row in one spot. Then you can book another 6 nights at a different spot. We stayed for 11 nights. They have pit toilets that are surprisingly clean and don't smell, but no shower or laundry. We stayed in sites 8 and 12 and both were wonderful with shade trees and a beautiful view. I loved waking up in the morning to see a beautiful lake out my bedroom window. The lake is actually an aquafer (underground spring) so it's super clear and clean unlike most lakes. One side of the lake has a beach and my kids and I swam in the lake and they especially loved the big slide in the middle of the lake. We floated with tubes and noodles. They have kayaks and paddleboats to rent for $15 an hour. There is a walking path around the campground and a lovely little river that travels alongside the walking path. Each year in September they have Buddies Not Bullies event on the beach. We happened to be her for the event. They had lots of old cars and cool cars and you can vote on your favorites. My boys loved the burnout contest. They had music, a free bounce house for kids, food trucks, free HotWheels for kids, and the radio station was here.  My kids thought it was fun. The campground closes for the winter in October but they leave the walking trail open. $30 a night was cheaper than any other place around and this campground is far more beautiful than any other one in the area. Definitely will be back.

    USFS Teton Canyon Campground

    Excellent National Forest Campground

Very well maintained campground. Stayed here for a few nights in mid-Sept 2024; no fees - end of summer season. Summer time fee is $17. Mix of pull-thru and back-in sites. Some sites are in the open; others are set back into thick forest. Campground accommodates tent campers, hammock campers, van campers, car campers, truck campers. One camper managed get his big travel trailer into a campsite. Large sites, good spacing between them. Clean vault toilets in different parts of the campground. Water was still turned on during our stay. Usually has a host, but not during my stay. Campsites are level on a gravel surface with a newish table, metal fire ring and a tent pad. Area is popular with hikers. Good trails from the campground. No T-Mobile nor AT&T cell service. The forest road accessing the campground is in good shape; access is from the Idaho side of the Tetons. Stayed in site #2 with a campervan; pull-thru site with a tent pad. A lush forest was directly behind this site. Loved camping here. Look forward to returning.

    Wakeside Lake RV Park

    Wonderful One night stay

It was a great location. Our site was large and shaded by beautiful mature trees. Very helpful and friendly staff/owners. We had a minor issue when we got there after hours. We tested the number provided and they were super quick to get back to us and help us problem solve. The only thing I didn’t love was that we had to share an electrical juncture box with our neighbors. So there was one 50 amp and one 30 amp on the box. They had already plugged into the 30 which we needed also. Neither of us had a dog bone attachment. I think maybe that just needs to be specified when booking and offering full hookups. We got the situation sorted because of kind neighbors and helpful staff. I would definitely stay again though. My kids loved playing in the lake.

    Grand View Campground (Targhee NF)

    Hike to waterfalls

The campground is within walking distance of Lower Mesa Falls and an easy but longer hike to Upper Mesa Falls. All the usual amenities in this campground- picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets(really clean!), plus steel prep stand tables. No cell service for me here, but I think some other campers had service with a different carrier. Definitely do the hike to the falls to save yourself a parking fee($5), or be sure to take your Interagency National Parks card and the parking fee will be waived. Not far away is the Bear Gulch hike, which is very pretty, but you will likely have to share the trail with mountain bikers and dirt bikers, so be prepared.

Targhee National Forest Warm River Campground

    Great location

I stumbled across this campground while driving Mesa Falls scenic by-way. This campground has 27 sites, both tent, RV and a group site right along the Warm River. It also has a day use area. This campground had new vaulted toilets but no showers. Within the campground was the trailhead for The railroad grade trail (great for mountain biking) which I was told use to take train passenger to Yellowstone’s old faithful. Tubing was very popular and the campers next to us insisted that we borrow their tubes so we could try it out for ourselves, very refreshing during our hot August stay.

I snagged the last tent site #21 across the bridge in the northern half of the campground. This large secluded tent site up on the hill had a very small tent pad, fire pit and picnic table and enough room to put up my hammock. This site is next to two double sites. Unfortunately during the 5 nights I stayed some of the RVers close to us ran their generators beyond the 10pm curfew and one RVer felt the need to pull out his noisy leaf blower and blow leafs and dirt everywhere.

There is tons of things to see and do in the area, Mesa Falls, Island Park… but the hidden gem is the close proximity (less than 25 miles) to Yellowstone National Park - Bechler Ranger Station. Bechler Ranger Station is in the far SW corner of Yellowstone National Park. This area has more streams, creeks, lakes and waterfalls than any other area in Yellowstone. There is a historic Soldier Station there that is about 100 years old and there are lots of hiking trails to beautiful waterfalls. You can see cave falls right from the parking lots. I would definitely return to this campground next time I am in the area.

Guide to Rigby

Rigby, Idaho sits at an elevation of 4,856 feet in the Upper Snake River Valley, positioned about 15 miles north of Idaho Falls and 100 miles southwest of Yellowstone National Park. The region experiences hot, dry summers with temperatures frequently reaching 90°F during July and August, while winter nights often drop below freezing from November through March. Local RV parks typically remain open year-round though water connections may be shut off during winter months to prevent freezing.

What to do

Fishing at Wakeside Lake: The private lake at Wakeside Lake RV Park offers catch-and-release fishing opportunities within walking distance of your campsite. "They have a lake view that is beautiful" and "my kids loved playing in the lake," note campers who enjoyed the water access during summer stays.

Visit Yellowstone Bear World: Located directly across from Wind Willows RV Park, this drive-through wildlife park offers close encounters with regional wildlife. "Right across the freeway from Bear World (super fun for kids and adults)," explains one reviewer who appreciated the convenient proximity to this family attraction.

Golf at Aspen Acres: The 18-hole par-3 course at Yellowstone Golf Resort at Aspen Acres RV Park provides a scenic golfing experience surrounded by aspen trees. "Nestled in an Aspen grove with a 18 hole par 3 course surrounded by rolling hills of farmer's fields," describes one visitor who enjoyed the unique setting.

What campers like

Private bathrooms: Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park features individual bathrooms that receive consistently high marks. "The bathrooms were extremely clean and the showers were huge, with hot water that lasted for a long time," notes one reviewer who appreciated the hotel-like facilities.

Shade trees: Mature trees at several parks provide essential relief during hot summer days. "The sites are level gravel and full hookups, 30 Amp. Most sites are shaded," reports one camper about Wakeside Lake RV Park, while another mentions "The trees in most sites are very mature and great for shade."

Strong internet connections: Many RV parks near Rigby offer reliable connectivity for remote workers. "Excellent wifi. Rates for the month I stayed there were excellent," reports a long-term guest at Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park, with another mentioning "Each site had its WiFi, which was a nice touch."

What you should know

Site spacing varies significantly: Many RV parks in the area feature close quarters between sites. At Snake River RV Park & Campground, one camper noted it was "very crowded and the sites were too close together," while another mentioned they "saw several questionable and possibly drunk people walking through the rv park."

Construction and expansion: Several parks are undergoing development. "The park is undergoing an expansion and is the area we stayed in, which got rather sloppy when it rained," reports a camper at Yellowstone Lakeside RV Park.

Weather considerations: The region experiences significant seasonal temperature swings. "It rained the first night I was there, and the roads (and my site) were a muddy mess," explains one camper at Snake River RV Park, highlighting the challenges of unpaved sites during wet weather.

Tips for camping with families

Look for pool access: Teton Valley Resort offers heated pool and hot tub facilities that are ideal for families. "Amazing pool and hot tub. Our site was paved," notes one reviewer who enjoyed these amenities during their stay.

Check for playground availability: Not all parks have dedicated children's play areas. One family at Wakeside Lake RV Park mentions, "My only complaint was that their website says there's a playground and I could not find one. My kiddo was entertained enough by the water though so it worked out."

Consider day trips: The region offers several family-friendly excursions within short driving distance. "20 minutes from Heise Hot Springs, and Rexburg Rapids water park. Worth more than it costs," shares a visitor to Wind Willows RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Level sites are common: Most RV parks near Rigby offer relatively level parking areas. "The spaces are very big and flat," notes one reviewer about Snake River RV Park, while another mentions "The concrete pads were level, long, and wide" at Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park.

Check water availability in winter: Seasonal water shutoffs affect many parks. "Their water lines had to be opened by staff so we could fill our tank, as there was no direct water," explains a winter visitor to Idaho Falls Luxury RV Park.

Consider dog-friendly features: Sugar City RV Park offers dedicated pet areas. "Dog friendly with fenced run area, cat approved by 'Liza', just in her trailer trash tabby space," notes one pet owner who appreciated these accommodations.
