Most local RV parks offer full hookups with amenities like electric, water, sewer connections, and showers while accommodating pets. The grounds at Snake River RV Resort are well maintained with green grass that's watered regularly, offering shaded areas under large trees where dogs can stay cool during hot summer months. Bathroom facilities and pet waste disposal areas are available at most locations, though cleanliness standards vary between campgrounds.

Riverfront access at multiple pet-friendly campgrounds provides opportunities for dogs to cool off during summer months. The hot spring pool at Given's Hot Springs maintains a comfortable 94-degree temperature and operates until 9 PM, though campers should note the facility doesn't open until noon. Wildlife sightings are common in the area, so keeping dogs leashed is recommended for their safety. Fishing spots along the Snake River are accessible from several campgrounds, with channel catfish abundant in the spring shallows. River Haven RV Park requires an application process for stays, which may involve delays in securing reservations. Pet owners should be prepared with water supplies at some locations—Given's Hot Springs only provides hot spring water that must be cooled before drinking or mixed with cold water brought by campers.

      Swan Falls - Idaho Power

      Not terrible

A little bit misleading in the description. There are some established camp spots and then there is some “dispersed” camping. In reality the dispersed camping is more like established camping on BLM land.
It can be a little bit confusing when you arrive but you take a right turn away from the welcome sign. You’ll travel by a boat launch on your left and some construction type equipment on your right as you travel down a dirt road. The mile or so is the established camping in Idaho Power property. It’ll be on your left as your drive. About 2ish miles in you’ll see a beat up sign marking the beginning of BLM land. After that there are turnouts for the “dispersed” camping. There are permanent fire pits and even some pit toilets so not exactly dispersed in the overland sense, but more like camping in the 80’s if you are old enough to remember that.
You won’t need a 4WD rig. A front wheel drive sedan can do this drive, but the road is bumpy. It was dry when I went to maybe if it’s muddy it would be more treacherous.
All in not a terrible camping spot. You’re right on the river and the bugs are too.
Remember, kids, only trash leaves trash and don’t be the weirdos “out in nature” with your Bluetooth speaker blaring music.

      Hi-Valley RV Park

      Excellent and quiet

The only thing I can say is it would be nice if there was more room between RVs. Other than that, excellent facilities, crew, pool, spa, off leash dog park, laundry, showers, garbage pick up(wow right!), Good power, good water pressure, stores nearby, just a great stop!

      Ambassador RV Resort

      Great for Telecommute and Streaming

I was here alone with my two dogs during the heatwave of June 2021 (104°+). The dogs and I didn't leave the RV much due to the heat. But we were parked next to the pool, it's small and busy late afternoon early evening. The little dog park was nice although we only used it a couple times since one of my dogs does not always get along well with other dogs.

5G and 2G wifi were excellent. Towers throughout property for access points. Never a week signal. I was able to telecommute and stream without any issues and never used my Hotspot or cell data.

I would have given 5 stars except for closeness of RVs, it's difficult to reserve a site, and because of the heat and my dogs, I didn't use any of the amenities or visit any destination.

I do prefer dispersed RV sites, however this site came through in a pinch for the heat wave.

      Boise-Meridian KOA

Way too close to be comfortable

This is an urban rv part. The sites are packed in very tightly so they can squeeze in as many people as possible. Shower and bathroom were ok. There is a pool, hot tub and small dog park. Not much else to do here. We stayed one night on our was to Craters of the Moon Np.

      Boise Riverside RV Park

      Nothing special

Glorified parking lot. Sewer connection isn’t threaded, instead they provide you with a rock to place on top of your line so it doesn’t blow out everywhere. Pets are allowed but the only grassy area in the whole park dogs aren’t allowed in. The entire front of the dumpsters had broken glass scattered all over the ground mixed in with the dirt and rocks. And my last complaint BEES!Hornets and wasps were surrounding our outdoor area. The laundry building was clean and maintained. Overall it worked for the 3 nights we stayed but I wouldn’t want to stay longer.

      Exit 3 RV Park

      Parking Lot off the interstate

This is pretty much a parking lot behind a gas station near the Idaho/Oregon border.

      Nice park and pool.

We stayed at Snake River RV Park in Idaho Falls, Idaho in September 2021. This park is a FHU pull-thru site and also has back-in sites. Our site was flat and level and a snap to set up our fifth wheel. It was windy and dusty during our stay. There was a nice pool and lots of grassy areas to walk our dogs. Boise Riverside RV Park

Management is Nice Enough, But the Place is a Dump

Like most (it seems) campgrounds, this place is badly in need of maintenance. When it rains, the "roads" (term used loosely) are mud puddles. Your site is too, unfortunately. Most of the park is long-term scum campers, junk all over the sites, loud trucks, loud music.

To top it off, many of these hobos take pleasure in putting dog food bowls of duck food out, so you can count on duck crap all over the place, on your rig, on your vehicle. The constant quacking makes you think you're on an island in the river. It will drive your dog nuts too.

      The Greenbelt:

Pretty, but VERY overcrowded. If you're looking for some peace walking by the river, forget it. Spandex wearing cycle maggots, too self-important to even bother to say "on your left" or ring a bell, come ripping up behind you, inches away, as if they despise you "being in the way". Most are wearing mirror shades so they don't have to smile at anyone.

All in all, there are much better places to spend time in Idaho. Try Idaho Falls, or Twin Falls. Stanley and Coeur d'Alene are both gorgeous. Boise is basically California, including the the corresponding batch of jerks just like you find in California.

Originally planned to stay here three months, left after a few weeks. Obviously, won't be returning.

    Guide to Marsing

The Snake River near Marsing offers a diverse range of camping options set among southwestern Idaho's agricultural landscape at approximately 2,240 feet elevation. The area experiences hot, dry summers with temperatures frequently exceeding 90°F and mild winters, making spring and fall ideal camping seasons. Campers should note that water access can be limited at certain sites during peak summer months.

    What to do

Snake River fishing spots: Anglers visiting the Snake River can catch bass and catfish, particularly in spring. At Snake River RV Resort, Fishin' R. reports "when the weather warms up in the spring this is a great place to catch channel catfish in the shallows... if you're just looking for some nice quiet peaceful time down by the river they will let you pull your motor home right down there."

Vineyard tours: Multiple wineries surround the Marsing area, providing easy day trips for campers. Matt S. from Rivers Edge RV Park shares, "We found a local vineyard that is a pleasure to visit. Good food, good wine and a great view of the vineyard while eating."

Swimming at hot springs: Take advantage of the 94-degree natural spring water at Given's Hot Springs, which offers a unique swimming experience. Vanessa F. notes, "The springs/pool was surprisingly refreshing even tho 94 degrees on a hot day in July. Fun place, little historical landmark describing the Givens' trek westward on a covered wagon."

    What campers like

Riverside camping locations: Many campers appreciate sites positioned directly on the Snake River. A reviewer at Rivers Edge RV Park mentions, "This summer we tried Rivers Edge Rv Park for the first time and had a great experience... tent camping here and in late September we tried the cabins along the river. Wonderful quiet location, good hosts and amazing sunsets on the Snake River."

Tent-specific areas: Several campgrounds offer dedicated tent camping sections away from RVs. At Caldwell Campground and RV Park, Kelsey G. found "Primarily an RV park, but there are grassy spots right on the fishing pond for tent campers... The Greenbelt, a 3 mile paved path can be accessed right at the front of the campground. It crosses an old train bridge and then runs along the water."

Maintained grounds: Well-kept campsites with grass are consistently highlighted in reviews. Lawrence P. appreciates that at Snake River RV Resort, "The grounds are well kept and the grass is GREEN! They water just about, if not, every day! Dave, Gary and the other staff members take pride in what they do and how they want the park to look."

    What you should know

Weekend crowding patterns: Popular campgrounds fill quickly during summer weekends. Charlie A. from Given's Hot Springs advises, "Had a great stay at givens, it was not very busy and made for a great quiet campsite. We also enjoyed swimming in the hot spring. Everyone was super friendly too."

Variable bathroom conditions: Campground bathroom facilities vary widely in cleanliness and functionality. At Rivers Edge RV Park, one visitor noted, "One star off because the bathroom really does need to be updated. Shower was a bit grungy."

Application processes: Some campgrounds require advance paperwork. Greg K. discovered with River Haven RV Park, "They were supposed to respond with an application for me to complete and send back in, for their approval. It's been two days and I haven't received a response from them. Lots of hoops to park for a few nights!"

Location surprises: Several campgrounds are tucked into agricultural areas that might surprise first-time visitors. Tommy C. shares about Rivers Edge RV Park: "So, after a long way driving all day and the way it takes you to get to this little hidden gem is in the middle of friggin nowhere farmland with fields and fields of hops being grown. Super skeptical driving in and then you arrive and it was perfect."

    Tips for camping with families

Dog friendly campgrounds near Marsing: Most area campgrounds welcome pets, but have varying rules. At Saddle up Ranch, Blake T. notes they're "Close to many wineries, snake River Lake Lowell and many fun things to do" while being pet-friendly with 20 sites available.

Activity options: Look for campgrounds with built-in recreational facilities. Kathleen T. found Saddle up Ranch offers "plenty of advance, corn hole, ax, throwing pickle ball volleyball. We also could have rented a band."

Swimming access: For families with children, river and pool access can be crucial during hot months. Mary D. from Rivers Edge RV Park recalls, "The water was so warm I swam at midnight! That's 5 stars."

Budget considerations: Camping costs vary widely between tent sites and RV hookups. Gary M. found at Caldwell Campground and RV Park, "Approx, 10-12 Grassy Tent sites, with shady trees, on a small 6 acre lake with entertaining ducks that do not beg for food. Lol. Lots of RV sites with full hook ups... $27.00, including tax, per day."

    Tips from RVers

Full hookup availability: Most RV parks near Marsing provide complete services. Douglas G. from Ambassador RV Resort found "5G and 2G wifi were excellent. Towers throughout property for access points. Never a week signal. I was able to telecommute and stream without any issues and never used my Hotspot or cell data."

Operating hours: Check each location's office hours before arrival. Char P. recalls at Country Corners Campground, "We pulled in after the office closed. We didn't receive a packet, which we have become accustomed to, but we had a site map and found our camp space."

Site spacing: RV sites vary significantly in size and privacy. Jeff & Steff's Excellent Adventure notes at Ambassador RV Resort, "Huge pull-thru sites on level river rock pads. Directly beside the rock pad is a wide concrete patio area followed by another wide grassy area. Tons of room to set-up and relax outside."

Long-term options: For extended stays, certain pet-friendly campgrounds near Marsing offer monthly rates. At Country Corners Campground, Chelann L. shares, "I have lived here full-time for over 3 years. It is beautiful, quiet, calm, and very safe for children and families. The rates are some of the cheapest around the country."
