Elk River Recreation District's campgrounds welcome pets with maintained grounds and fishing opportunities at Elk River Reservoir. Sites at Dent Acres provide campers with pets access to full hookups including water, sewer and electric connections for $10 with a Senior Lifetime Pass. Both locations offer fire rings, picnic tables, and toilet facilities. The Dworshak Reservoir area provides multiple pet-friendly options including Canyon Creek's free primitive camping and Three Meadows Group Camp's cabins that accept dogs. Moose Creek Reservoir Access stands out with bear-proof trash facilities where pets can join campers at lakefront sites with good fishing access and docks stationed around the water.

The Dworshak reservoir campgrounds require good vehicle brakes due to steep access roads but reward pet owners with beautiful views and waterfront recreation. Dogs can explore the guided nature trail at Three Meadows where visitors learn about animal tracks. Campgrounds maintain clean facilities despite their remote locations, with Moose Creek offering varying levels of privacy depending on site selection. Many camping areas feature nearby boat ramps for fishing access, with bass fishing particularly good at Grandad Recreation Area where pets can join their owners. Canyon Creek provides a quieter experience where campers report feeling completely separated from the rest of the world while still being relatively close to Orofino for supply runs.

Elk River Recreation District - Spur Road - Upper and Lower

      Backwoods Haven

This campground overlooks the Elk River Reservoir. It is a great place to fish, swim, ride around, and explore the mountains. All of the campgrounds run by the Elk River Recreation District are well maintained and they have a lot of spaces of different variety. Be sure to get Huckleberry ice cream from the store or a burger from the Log Inn if you are in town! Elk Creek Falls and the giant cedar tree are great places to visit to see more of what the area has to offer.

      Soaring Hawk RV Resort

      Great park

Quiet, spacious, beautiful smell of pine trees. Wouldn’t want to drive in after dark though. Two large dog parks. Park is gravel and you may need to do a little leveling, but it isn’t bad at all. Had enough room to park my 44’ rig and my truck right next to it. Would definitely come here again.

      Soaring Hawk RV Resort

      Great stat

Great new campground right outside of Plummer. There's been some sort of entertainment each night we've been here, fire dancers Friday and Saturday, a 4th of july bbq, 2 bands and fireworks at midnight tonight. There's several different sections to stay in, a dog park, lodge and laundry area. I would definitely come again.

      Elk Creek Campground

      One of my favorite places!

I've been coming to Elk River my whole life. If you are looking for a quiet town surrounded by forest this is the place to go. Be sure to go to the Giant Cedar Grove which has the largest cedar tree in North America. The hike to Elk Creek falls is beautiful too! There is not much to offer in town, but you can get great huckleberry ice cream at the store and a great burger from the Elk Butte Log Inn. Whether you are fishing, hunting, riding around, or just hanging out with the family this is a great place to stay. If you are having a get together there is a nice big pavilion that will hold everyone.

      Elk Creek Campground

      Good area attractions

This is a pretty decent place to camp. There are other sites in the area that might be a little quieter and less expensive, but I would bump this site up on the list in terms of how easily it is to get to some of the attractions in the area! The giant cedars and Elk River Falls are a must stop if you head this way. It can be crowded, and a little noisy. Interesting plants and mushrooms to see, depending on time of year!

      Wallace RV Park

Quaint Park tucked Into The Downtown Area

Great spot to stay especially if you’re visiting Wallace for a festival or stopover. Within walking distance to charming downtown. Very friendly staff. Some spots border a small river. Pet friendly. All gravel spots with cabins in other side of the river. No laundry but restaurant and bar on property.

Premier RV Resort at Granite Lake

Clean, well-run RV place in a small city

This “RV resort” is within the city of Clarkston and a stone’s throw from a Costco, a WalMart and an Albertson’s. It’s highly manicured and very clean. Staff members are on top of every little thing, friendly and respectful. The waterfront sites overlook Granite Lake, a reservoir on the Snake River. There’s not a whole heck of a lot to do in Clarkston and environs, but it’s a super friendly city and the RV resort is pretty pleasant, featuring a dog park, lots of well-tended lawns, shared propane fire pits and grills and sparkling restrooms.

      Wallace RV Park

      Nice clean park, convenient location

Clean park with beautiful creekside camping. Friendly employees and a convenient Brew Pub within walking distance. Grassy areas at sites and very pet friendly.

Road next the RV Park is very busy! It does slow down after dark but be prepared for road noise during daylight hours.
