Several RV parks near Crawfordville provide varied accommodations for motorhome travelers. Tallahassee RV Park offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service on gravel pads suitable for larger rigs, while Panacea RV Park maintains 42 sites with water and electric hookups. Ho-Hum RV Park in Carrabelle features waterfront sites with sewer connections and full hookups, though space between units can be limited. Bayside RV Resort & Marina includes riverfront sites with cabanas and hookups for RVs. "Sites are gravel, pretty level. Bathhouses are modern, clean and adequate. Sites in the back are wooded while front yard sites are not and pretty close," according to one visitor.

Most RV parks in the region remain open year-round, with prices ranging from budget-friendly county parks to premium waterfront locations. Cell service varies significantly, with stronger signals at parks closer to Tallahassee and potentially weaker coverage in coastal locations. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, dump stations are available at Tallahassee RV Park, Panacea RV Park, and some county facilities like Coe Landing. Pet policies generally allow animals at most parks, though some waterfront locations may have restrictions. During high season, especially spring and fall, advance reservations are strongly recommended as Florida's coastal parks fill quickly.

      Perry KOA

One of the Best KOA/Private Campgrounds We've Stayed

The campground(CG) was easy to find. Check-in was quick and very friendly and we headed to back-in site E-27 for our overnight stay. This premium site is probably one of the most spacious in the CG, especially on the utilities side, where a swing bench looks out to a huge field. There was a nice patio, furniture, and propane grill that unfortunately, due to the January cold weather snap, we did not get to use. There’s a large tree on this site, so satellite could be iffy, but they have cable TV, plus you get a good amount of OTA channels. The sites in this KOA are well-spaced in comparison to others we’ve stayed in the past. They have a nice camp store that even has a humidor with cigars. They also seem to be the town’s“go-to” place for propane fills. Water pressure was good at about 50 PSI, and we got 3 bars on Verizon. We were in the far back corner of the CG and had to carefully plan our departure to avoid tight turns and other campers departing to get to the exit. Perry has your major amenities. Get a site in the back area away from the road noise. As this was easily one of the best KOAs and private CGs we’ve stayed in, we would definitely come back.

      River Junction - Lake Seminole

      Awesome surprise!

What an awesome surprise! COE campground on a dead end road (ends at the boat ramp) with water and power. Dump is just up the road on your way out of the park and super easy to get to. Level sites, nicely spaced and mostly shaded. I bet it’s even more beautiful in the spring and fall. Picnic table, fire pit, grill and a fish station at all sites. Walking distance to boat ramp and lake access. Pet friendly. Road in was paved and well maintained. First come first served and although there is a camp host on site there is no way to call to check availability. $20/night ($10/night senior citizen or Access Pass).

Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park Campground

      Very Nice and Secluded

Very nice and quiet camp site. Each site is very private, and the camp is very secluded. After entering the park, it's a four mile drive. The closest large town is about one hundred miles away.

The beach is walking distance, but no pets are allowed on the State Park Beaches, but pets are allowed on the public beaches outside the park.

There's not much shade for tent campers.

This camp ground is hard to get into, so it's best to book early.

Lastly, although the camp ground have electric outlets at each site, 20, 30, and 50 amps, the closest high speed EV charger is 56 miles away in Mexico Beach, about one and a half hours drive.

      Tallahassee RV Park

      Very Nice RV Park

We stayed nine days in Campsite 39, a gravel pull through with more than enough room for our 27' truck camper and jeep tow vehicle. We used 30 amp power and it was steady. The power, sewer and water connections were conveniently located. We were impressed by the cleanliness of this RV park; there are many pine trees and the staff worked hard to keep the sites and roads neat and raked. The laundry is reasonable at$2 wash and$1.50 dry and all the machines were clean and worked properly. We did not use the pool, restrooms or showers but they were all clean and in good condition. A Walmart Supercenter, Publix Market, Costco and Bass Pro are 4 miles away. Wakulla Springs State Park is 23 miles away and worth a visit. We enjoyed our time here and will stay again.

      Carrabelle Beach RV Resort

      Relaxing on the beach

Nice campground. Helpful staff at check-in. It has a nice pool and is on the beach. Access is across Route 98, but the traffic was minimal. There is some road noise at site#39, but it is not bad. Level site, full hooks, cable TV, and good internet speeds. Getting the RV positioned was a little tricky. While the site is long enough, the sewer connection is closer to the front of the site, so we could not park at the back. We had to be positioned to reach the sewer connection and work our rear slide around a large palm tree. Site 39 backs up to the pool and park office. At busier times, there may be a lot of people traffic, but not during our stay. Also note that there are no firepit or grills provided at the site. You must have your own grill. We enjoyed our five-night stay here. IGA grocery store in Carrabelle is the closest. Fathom’s Steam Room and Raw Bar is an old Florida open-air restaurant and bar with live music. There is a small dog park in the resort. Lots to explore in the area: Carrabelle, Eastpoint, St George Island, Lighthouse, and State Park, Tate’s Hell State Forest, Crooked River Lighthouse, or just relaxing by the pool or on the beach.

Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park Campground

      Beach Lovers Paradise

Let me say first that St. George Island State Park is perhaps the main reason we purchased our small travel trailer in the first place and found groups like The Dyrt for insight for other places to explore. We visited St. George Island in May on Florida’s“Forgotten Coast” but the State Park on the island really stole the show.

The first thing you’ll notice about both the island and in particular the State Park is how remote it is. The beaches are seemingly empty even during busy seasons. It has one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire state of Florida and as Floridian’s we are pretty particular. The beach is lined with beautiful sand dunes from one end to the other. The island is narrow with a single road maybe 5 miles long. The road was closed after the camp ground as they are still repairing the park from the last hurricane that hammered The Panhandle area of Florida. Not sure what's taking so long as State Park HQ is in Tallahassee only an hour or so away.

The park has one camp ground and sites are very hard to come by. One visit and you’ll see why. Facilities are very well maintained with a friendly staff which is true for most Florida State Parks. There was a good mix of people camping in tents, small trailers and big rigs which is nice as many places in Florida are dominated by people who camp with everything they own and have rigs bigger than our house.

You bring your own fun here so just chill on the beach. If you have kayaks or paddle boards bring em. If you have bikes, those would be good too. Fishing(check). You could probably catch dinner as there is little pressure on these waters. There is some hiking but just walking on the beach is great. Nice flat beach at low tide with hard packed sand from the outgoing tide will make it a great walk.

Be sure to visit Apalachicola across the bay. A really good place to eat is the Owl Cafe and if you can get there for a Sunday Brunch, all the better. Very local, very southern, very authentic.

We will be back for sure whenever we can secure a camping spot that fits our schedule. Hope it won't be too long!

      Ochlockonee River State Park Campground

      Smaller quiet wilderness campground

We came to this campground after staying at St George Island state oro to complete a 2 week trip. We read the reviews of the small spaces for big rigs and we confirm it as we arrived.. although it is a fact we still made it with our fifth wheel on campsite#9 designated for a 35’. If the site had the front bushes trimmed out it would make it easier since it’s a curve to back it. But at the end we just back straight and the privacy of it was worth it.. it’s just back of the river and canoeing area and although we got rained at arrival since hurricane Sally approach same day we were able to see what we came for, quiet, peace, small not crowded campsite and got to see very close the unique white squirrel. Rangers at main gate were very friendly and gave us great information and tips due to heavy rain and winds expected due to hurricane Sally approaching same night. We walk thru a couple of trials and everything was well maintained. Also used the women’s restroom and although is not new the toilet and sink areas were really cleaned and the toilet paper was actually of a great quality. ( impressive knowing this to be badly rated restrooms). The tide creek Picnic Shelter is well maintained , lots of parking and there is a lot to do if you bring the kids including swings and slides. Canoeing, fishing, fire rings and all the uniqueness of the palmetto bushes and oak trees. If you like to be alone in the woods and no heavy city population this is the park to come. Did not got to enjoy the stars because of all the rain from hurricane path. We never experimented any bad winds during this Hurricane situation and the rain went so well for our taste of resting before heading back to our 7 hour trip back home. And yes looking forward to come again but will try other better sites for our fifth wheel now I know which they are.

    Guide to Crawfordville

Crawfordville sits at the edge of Florida's coastal Big Bend region, where tidal marshes and pine forests converge near the Gulf of Mexico. The area receives about 55 inches of rainfall annually, creating lush vegetation around campgrounds. Camping options near Crawfordville range from waterfront RV sites to wooded retreats with varying levels of amenities and accessibility.

    What to do

Fishing from campground docks: At Ed and Bernices Fish Camp and RV Park, guests enjoy direct river access. "We had our own pavilion with picnic table electric water great lighting and plenty of room from the next camper. We fished, ate our fish, kayaked, had a wonderful time," reports Deborah B. The Ochlockonee River provides good catches year-round.

Explore local wildlife: Many campers spot dolphins from waterfront RV sites near Crawfordville, Florida. "You can watch dolphins in the bay. They keep the facilities very clean," says Dan T. about Coastline RV Resort. Morning hours offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities.

Visit coastal lighthouses: The historic Crooked River Lighthouse stands less than 30 minutes from most Crawfordville campgrounds. "We found a museum .02 miles away and crooked lighthouse to explore," shares Joann H. from Carrabelle RV Resort. The lighthouse museum charges $5 for adult admission and features weekend climbing opportunities.

    What campers like

Waterfront camping spots: Riverfront sites remain popular at rv parks near Crawfordville. "Right on the Ochlocknee River going out to the gulf so you can catch redfish and trout off the pier at the site. Each riverfront has a cabana and picnic table with water and electric hookups," writes Juke W. about Bayside RV Resort & Marina.

Clean facilities: Many campers mention the well-maintained bathhouses. "I felt like I walked into a spa when I opened the door calming music started and the lights came on. The showers are big!" Joyce T. notes about Coastline RV Resort. Most campgrounds clean facilities daily.

Family-friendly activities: Camping near water provides entertainment options. "Could not keep the kids from playing by the water they scooped up minnows and found crawdads. Was great to watch," reports Deborah B. about Ed and Bernices Fish Camp. Several campgrounds offer fishing piers suitable for children.

    What you should know

Site spacing varies: Some campgrounds feature tight quarters while others offer more room. "Sites are close together but it was very quiet," shares Rachel C. about Big Oak RV Park. Waterfront sites often command premium prices but provide better views and more privacy.

Weather considerations: The area experiences humid summers with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. "We kayaked and loved and I mean absolutely love being on this river. Did some swimming and fishing off the side," writes Deborah B. about Ed and Bernices Fish Camp. Spring and fall offer more comfortable camping conditions.

Reservation requirements: Popular campgrounds fill quickly during peak seasons. "It is a very busy road with lots of noise, but it was better than being by the dumpster and I wanted to be near town," explains Faith J. about Big Oak RV Park. Book at least 2-3 months ahead for winter stays.

    Tips for camping with families

Select parks with swimming options: Several campgrounds feature pools or river access. "The pool was wonderful and the clubhouse amazing! You can cook a dinner in the clean kitchen," notes Joyce T. about Coastline RV Resort. Natural swimming areas may have limited visibility.

Look for wildlife viewing opportunities: Tallahassee RV Park offers nature trails nearby. "Beautiful trails," writes Chrissie K. Children often enjoy watching local birds, squirrels, and occasional deer.

Consider noise levels: Some campgrounds offer quieter environments than others. "Very pretty RV park. Level gravel sites and roads. WiFi, cable, full hookups. Lots of trees and shade. Nice area to walk dogs," reports Bill B. about Tallahassee RV Park. Sites farther from highways provide more peaceful settings for families.

    Tips from RVers

Hookup availability: Full-service sites vary between campgrounds. "Nice campground close to I10, shopping and restaurants. The sites are gravel, very level. Many pull thrus. Sites are close together," explains janet H. about Tallahassee RV Park.

Site leveling requirements: Terrain varies significantly between campgrounds. "Nice pavilions with a picnic table and new fire rings. We had a flat spot and not needing to bust out the levelers is always a treat!" shares Cristina P. about Ed and Bernices Fish Camp. Some campgrounds have staff who rake sites for easier leveling.

Internet connectivity: Cell service varies throughout the region. "We used our starlink with no problem," notes Tonya B. about Tallahassee RV Park. Several campgrounds offer WiFi, though speeds and reliability fluctuate based on occupancy and weather conditions.
