Redstone White River National Forest

These are excellent secluded sites with nice bathrooms.

The river runs right along the park. 

Not very many trails near by, and starts to get cold early because of the valley.

I had no issues with being close to the highway.

We loved this campground! I would have gave it 5 stars if we would have had a better experience with the double site we were in. The hookups were all in the back corner of the site, which only reached to one trailer in our site. We had no idea we would need double length power and water to reach the 2nd trailer. The other problem after we got the layout figured out was that both of the electricity hookups didn't work. We ended up sharing one which worked fine.. just a little frustrating to have to deal with. 

The sites are large and spaced out, which is great. The campground is beautiful to walk around and we loved exploring the area. The campground doesn't have any river access, but you can get to it from in Redstone.

We arrived a little early and the other campers had not vacated our reserved site yet. The hosts mentioned there was another site available that was more private but had no hookups. We don't need no stinkin hookups. We stayed three nights and couldn't have had a better experience. One mile easy bike ride to Redstone and Propaganda Pie. Charming community with lots of history. Check out the coke ovens. Hosts were two friendly chaps that were fun to visit with.

Nestled in a valley between the red rocks and lush green. Very nice. Conveniently close to the road, but hidden and no noise issues.  We were close to one of the bathrooms but didn't have any odor issues. A great choice when camping in this area.

Stayed in Mechau loop in a tent. Sites were nicely separated for privacy. Hosts Don and John were super friendly and had great recommendations for activities nearby! Pit toilets were probably the cleanest I’ve ever used at a campground. Towns of Carbondale, redstone, and marble are fun to explore (get the pizza in redstone). Cool off in the river just a short walk from camp!

Third time for us here. We have tried different sites and I like them all. I personally, have enjoyed the Oslo loop best. Mainly b/c of the views. Short walk to downtown Redstone, and a short drive yo Marble or Carbondale, this campground has a great location. No cell signal! Staff was great and keep the facilites very clean.

This is our new favorite spot! So much to do, so beautiful, great hosts.... I could go on and on. Loved it!!!!

There are three sections to this campground: Osgood, Allgeier, and Mechau. Osgood and Allgeier have electric hookups; Mechau does not. Our site, 17 (Osgood), was a very large pull-through equipped with a large metal picnic table, fire ring (although there was a statewide burn ban when we stayed there), lantern hook, and bear box. There is good physical separation between the sites. The vault toilets were very clean and there is one flush toilet, located between Osgood and Allgeier, however, the showers were closed due to Covid. You hear road noise from just about any site, but it is not that bad. 

There are two options that lead to the small town of Redstone, about two miles away: a trail or a secondary road (not the highway). We made reservations for a Tuesday in September and it was a good thing we did as the campground was full. Convenient to the towns of Redstone, Marble, and Carbondale and not that far from Glenwood Springs.

Location is great! A mile walk into the quaint town of Redstone, 20min drive to Carbondale or Marble (opposite direction). Fun hikes near by and great fly fishing at the Crystal River (walking distance from campground). Hosts were great. We had site #1. Shared site but spacious with great views. No cell reception anywhere until you get to Carbondale. We drove into Redstone to get some WiFi bear the Inn.

One loop has hookups. One doesnt. Free Hot spgs nearby busy after 8 am. Awesome walk 1 mile to town of Redstone. Historically significant with 1880 Coal Barron Castle and nearby 1880 Marble Quarry..

Arrived opening weekend in May at Redstone Campground (just 1 mile east of Redstone) Camp Hosts were super friendly and had been working hard getting sites and bathrooms ready for the season. $30 per night which i did hear that is the highest price in the Roaring Fork Valley. Bear boxes at each site which we are always grateful for. Short walk down to river, or 1 mile into Redstone (Ruby of the Rockies!!) for a quick visit to general store and antique shop. We also left for the day for Marble to paddleboard at Beaver Lake and eat at Slow Groovin BBQ. Campground has water, showers, even a sandbox foe kids.

We reserved our site about 2 weeks in advance and were so excited. However when we arrived we were very upset to learn our spot was a small gravel driveway that was actually to be split with another site, and our neighbors had a huge RV and a jeep and we're taking up most of the space. There was zero privacy, it was very awkward and uncomfortable. So much so yay we got up early the best day and left. We noticed a lot of spots were like this there as well. We will not return nor would we recommend this spot to a friend.
