Great views, Rough Road

I loved the views from our campsite here. We parked at the smaller site on the drive to the left. It was on the right side and had a fire pit. The road was super rough to get up that far, but it was worth it. It was also a scary drive because of how close you are to the side of the mountain. No amenities other than a fire pit. We were able to find this spot on a Saturday night in July.

The best views but quite a drive

Such a great place for disbursed camping with a wide variety of types of views. Quite a slow drive up to the National Forest at the top but worth it for the views. Warning about mosquitoes near the springs/stream though. They are brutal if the spring is flowing. Consider finding a place where the ground is very dry.

Coffe Pot!

Great area with tons of camping otions. GReat views down into the valley and each site is pretty secluded. IF you are willing to drive the distance, the further you go, the better the sites. Great location!

Higher Elevation

This rating is based solely on the beauty of this place. Coffe Pot Road is located near Dotsero, CO. We were looking for a place to set up and a ranger at Hanging Lake told us about this place and the locals agreed! The scenic drive up is very narrow, some places only one car can pass at a time, so drive slow and be careful. It includes several types of trees, rock formations, wildlife, wild flowers and vast mountain views! If you want to feel like you are really camping in the wilderness (which you kinda are) then don't pass this place up! The road itself goes up about 10,500 feet in elevation ending in Deep Lake then decenends down. Coffe Pot Springs Campground is about 16 miles up in the White River National Forest and features large, very secluded sites with a rock made fire pit. We did see a porta house down the gravel road a little ways, no other amenities that we saw. We set up our tent at around 8,000 ft in elevation and enjoyed the view, it was literally what dreams are made of! During the night we heard Elk and it was so dark that we saw the milky way!!!

Beautiful secluded camping

This site had no amenities-no water, bathroom, etc. the lower spots were off the creek. Biggest appeal was not being close to any other campers. The spots, especially higher up the mountain, are pretty far apart. Not a lot of trees or shade. Views were awesome
