Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Pineknot

Pineknot Campground, Big Bear Lake, Ca

A bit challenging to locate via Google Maps... Just go up (south) Summit Blvd, when you get to the parking lot of the ski resort, veer towards the left, and just past a concrete wall, you'll see the little Pineknot Campground sign attached to an aluminium pole. The campground is very cozy, countless tall pine trees, clean bathrooms, clean sites, water from taps, no hookups, and not for big rigs. The hosts are friendly, but strict! No generators from 8 pm to 8 am, a $3000 fine if your campfire is left unattended, and no rowdy obnoxious behavior is tolerated! We appreciated the rules, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, quiet, deep in the woods getaway!!

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

Guide to Norco

Dispersed camping options near Norco, California are limited due to the region's developed suburban landscape. Most camping in this area consists of established RV parks and campgrounds within a 30-minute drive. Summer temperatures in this region regularly reach 95-100°F from June through September, with minimal rainfall and high UV index levels, making shade structures essential for comfort at exposed sites.

What to do

Water activities at Lake Elsinore: Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park offers direct lake access with options for boating and swimming. "The boat launch is very near by too but we had no use for that," notes Bryan H., who appreciates the location's versatility.

Hiking trails near Lytle Creek: Bonita Ranch Campground provides easy access to mountain trails. "Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground. Very quiet and interspersed with long time stayers and temporary campers," reports Heather L., who stayed with her pets.

Family recreation at Frank G. Bonelli Park: Bonelli Bluffs offers diverse recreational opportunities beyond camping. "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," explains Jessica P.

Explore local shopping districts: Canyon RV Park provides a convenient base for visiting nearby attractions. "We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," shares Jody R., highlighting urban adventures accessible from camp.

What campers like

Security features: Rancho Jurupa RV Park maintains controlled access points for camper safety. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes... Ranger is on constant patrol," notes Troy A., who appreciated the secure environment during his stay.

Clean facilities: Launch Pointe earns high marks for maintenance standards. "This park is clean! Like no park I have seen before. The staff are always moving around the grounds and 'picking up' as they go," says Bryan H., who visited with his family.

Proximity to attractions: Anaheim Harbor RV Park offers convenient access to regional destinations. "Perfect spot to stay in central orange county. Nice amenities. Clean bathrooms. well functioning rv hook ups," reports Scott O., highlighting the practical location for visitors.

Budget-friendly camping: Keller Peak Yellow Post Campsites provides economical camping options with natural surroundings. "I really dig these spots because they are well spaced out. It's right around the corner from my cabin so it's a great spot to get outside for the weekend without an epic drive," shares Lynn C.

What you should know

Campsite availability challenges: Most rv sites near Norco, California fill quickly, especially on weekends. "We initially thought they double charged me, went to clarify only to realize the 2nd charge was for the 2nd night. So for 2 nights it was $142! Not worth it," warns Michael S. about Bonelli Bluffs, noting the high price point for crowded sites.

Noise considerations: Canyon RV Park experiences road noise that may affect light sleepers. "The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible," explains Christina S., giving potential visitors realistic expectations.

Water quality issues: Several lakes in the region experience seasonal algae blooms. "The lake was closed due to algae bloom," reports Kellie about her winter stay at Launch Pointe, while another camper noted, "This is probably the nicest thing in lake elsinore along with the bowling alley... bummer that the lake is gross."

Site sizing realities: RV sites often have practical limitations despite advertised capacities. "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in," cautions Lawrence P. about Fairplex RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Look for water features: Newport Dunes RV Resort provides multiple water-based activities for children. "We stay here every year. They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," shares Karissa J.

Consider section differences: Rancho Jurupa offers distinct camping areas with varying family appeal. "This place has two campgrounds. Cottonwood and Lakeside. Cottonwood is the nicest of the two," explains Michele N., providing insight on section selection for families.

Check enforcement policies: Noise restrictions vary between parks and affect family dynamics. "The only bad part is they strictly enforce quiet time at 10pm. I felt like a kid being told to go to bed. I feel like on weekends people should be able to stay up late in front of their camper with low voices," notes Marcella D. about Launch Pointe.

Book appropriate tent sites: Limited tent camping exists within RV parks near Norco. "I tent camped here for one night before meeting friends at their timeshare for a Disneyland vacation. There are only two tent sites (T1 and T3), the rest are for RVs," explains Jessica R. about Anaheim Harbor RV Park, noting the compact space was "just enough" for her family tent.

Tips from RVers

Electrical requirements: Many campsites near Norco offer varied electrical hookup options. "You will need to pay for your vehicle to park! Despite their sites being able to accommodate a 40ft rig their campground is extremely tight and sites may be very difficult to back in if longer than 35ft," warns Prentice F. about hidden costs at Anaheim Harbor.

Site selection strategy: Water views often come with tradeoffs at local campgrounds. "I had site 126 in the fields, corner site and lake view. This campground has a pool, splash pad, park, dog park and access to the lake," shares Marcella D., describing an optimal site at Launch Pointe.

Weather preparedness: Unexpected weather patterns can impact RV camping comfort. "Weather is definitely colder than in the valley, got snow overnight in mid May. Had very bad but there at&t cell reception. Nice and quiet with space between spots," reports Jillian about Keller Peak, noting temperature differences that surprised even experienced campers.

Duration limitations: Some rv sites near Norco, California have stay restrictions. "You can stay for 20 days and then you have to leave for 60 days and that's fine with me I'm looking forward to returning," explains Sara H. about Bonelli Bluffs, important for those considering extended stays.
