Best RV Parks & Resorts near Green Valley, CA

Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon provides 200 RV sites with full hookups including 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. Located in Acton, the park remains open year-round with amenities including a swimming pool, recreation room, and playground. Castaic Lake RV Park offers pull-through sites with full hookups on level spots with artificial turf areas adjacent to concrete pads. Mountain Valley RV Park in Tehachapi features water and electric hookups with a dump station rather than sewer connections at individual sites. Malibu Beach RV Park has ocean view sites but limited space for larger vehicles. "For a 43 footer this place is TIGHT. If you have a big rig, prolly not the best idea. But if you have a 28 footer, this place is Six Stars!"

Several parks in the region require navigation through winding mountain roads with significant elevation changes. Tehachapi Mountain Park features double-digit grade percentages and sharp hairpin turns that challenge larger rigs. Cell service varies dramatically between locations, with Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon having limited connectivity in sections A, B, and C, while section N offers reliable T-Mobile and Verizon coverage. Most RV parks remain open year-round, though seasonal considerations affect amenities—family pools often close during winter months. Propane refill services are available at select locations, with Thousand Trails offering propane at $2.99 per gallon according to visitor reports. Pet policies generally allow dogs, though some parks implement breed restrictions or designated pet areas to accommodate wildlife concerns.

    Tapo Canyon Park

Clean and quiet, except for the birds

This is a very nice campground near everything but still away from it all. No issues parking our 42' 5th wheel here. Clean and quiet despite the peacocks. They can be rather loud when startled. I swear they could hear my morning alarm and squawked their disapproval. The camp host Shawn is AMAZING! Bathrooms are very clean. Showers are coin operated. DO NOT expect cell service. I could only work from this spot by placing my mobile HomeFi router on top of the camper. Our Verizon phones were paper weights. Make sure your reservations are complete online before arriving. The Rangers check the spots multiple times a week. The kids enjoyed the playground and fields. It's not uncommon to see and hear movie/TV production crews at the filming locations along the road. Pet friendly but be careful at night. Mountain lions were spotted while there.

    Kenney Grove Park

    Small but peaceful

Ok, so first off driving into this place feels a little "Texas Chainsaw" but don't worry, its fine. When I saw regional park I was expecting something way bigger however this is about the size of a small city park that turned its parking lot into a campground. None the less, we had a very pleasant stay. It was nice and quite despite it being Fourth of July weekend and we even had a few friendly bats fly around us. The playground was a bunch of old metal pieces that looked like you would surely break a leg so naturally my 2 and 4 year old LOVED it. LOL. Its in a great location with close drive to Ventura and Pismo beaches. Would definitely stay here again for a quick getaway.

Oh and note, the full hook up sites are for Model A's (stayed at 56). So hook ups are on the opposite side and really close to the "entrance" so we couldnt back in, we had to parking our towing vehicle in the general parking area. We had our small travel trailer and thank God we had a 40 ft sewer hose.

Cabin Flat Trail Campground - CLOSED

    Difficult to reach, very primitive

We stayed at Cabin Flat several years ago, and it's one of the most difficult campgrounds to reach near Wrightwood in the Angeles National Forest. To get here, you need to take the Blue Ridge Trail Road from Inspiration Point off of Highway 2. This road is closed during the winter, as it traverses through Mountain High Ski Resort. That said, the campground itself is very basic. I would not recommend bringing an RV here as the dirt road to get down is winding and bumpy. Tent camping only.

    Kenney Grove Park

    Ventura County Park

This county park campground is packed full on the weekend. Many big rigs are shoehorned in, making me feel kinda cramped. There are many trees and plantings, so it’s not a parking lot. No sewer, and $15 dump station is in town, 2 or 3 miles It felt like everyone here knew each other, and we were intruding on their party.

    Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon

    This place is huge!

I think people give this campground such negative reviews for no reason to be honest. The road in is a little windy, but it's easy to get here. The staff were all very friendly during our week stay. Just note that they are going through a lot of updates, which is a good thing for the future!

All of sections A, B, & C were packed when we arrived. Any open spaces had a red power box indicating there was no power in that spot... There were quite a few of those. If you need cell signal you can ignore these sections anyway. Move on to Section N. Full 30 Amp hookups, great cell service ( T-Mobile & Verizon ), and a great sunset view! Skip Section K... that whole section was currently closed. Sounds like they're upgrading to 50 Amp but lost permits due to COVID and have to reapply? Check with the office on any outages for Section N though. They did have to turn off the water for one day and sewer for about 4 as they are doing sewer upgrades there. My only gripe about this section is I think there is either a dog breeder or humane society to the east. Sometimes all of the dogs just go crazy! There is a train too, but we couldn't really hear it from Section N.

The facilities and pool all looked pretty clean and nice. The grounds are taken care of and there is a lot of new landscaping on the west side of the campground. This place is absolutely huge by the way. It just keeps on going when we walked the dog towards the west side. There's a huge family pool over here but it was closed for the season. You could easily have a quiet family picnic past there because we didn't see a soul.

I feel Soledad is closer to and deserves a 4-star. They ARE really working hard on upgrades and take very good care of the place! Kudos to their hard work!

    Mountain View RV Park

    Meh

Not the best, but works. Hardly any space between lots. The “dog run” is a sidewalk of sand. Yuck. Owner is very nice and most of the residents are full time and are traveling nurses or lineman. Walking distance to good tacos, and a short drive to grocery store.

Guide to Green Valley

Camping options near Green Valley, California span from desert terrain to mountain elevations with significant temperature variations throughout the year. The region sits at the northern edge of the San Gabriel Mountains with elevations ranging from 2,500 to 4,000 feet across various campgrounds. Most RV sites near Green Valley remain accessible year-round, though winter conditions can bring overnight temperatures below freezing from November through March.

What to do

Glider watching at Mountain Valley RV Park: Located next to an active glider port in Tehachapi, visitors can observe glider takeoffs throughout the day. According to one camper, "We ended up extending stay from one night to four to watch air force cadet competition. Owners are very pleasant and helpful. Plan to return in the future and listen to the coyotes at night again."

Explore Vasquez Rocks: Located a short drive from LA RV Resort at Action Camp, these distinctive rock formations are recognizable from numerous films and TV shows. "You're very close to the world famous Vasquez rocks," notes one reviewer who stayed at the campground for several weeks.

Visit Hollywood attractions: Hollywood RV Park provides convenient access to Los Angeles attractions. "This seems to be one of the best places to stay with an RV to visit LA, since driving and parking and RV in LA can be challenging and parking an RV in west LA is not allowed. We took an uber. if you stay on the West side of the city it's okay (still 50/60 USD) for a single ride."

What campers like

Ocean views at beach campgrounds: Malibu Beach RV Park offers premium coastal positioning. "I have been on a 3 month trip and stayed at 22 different campgrounds. Malibu RV Resort has the best views for the price, hands down," writes one reviewer. The park sits on a bluff with direct Pacific Ocean views from most sites.

Themed art throughout the campground: Hollywood RV Park features distinctive design elements. "Every street is themed with murals and art everywhere! The site size depends on where you are in the park. Most of it is an affordable community for locals to live. We were lucky and got a middle spot with wonderful shade trees!"

Budget-friendly overnight options: Spaceport RV Park in Mojave offers economical rates for travelers passing through. "Full hookup for $20.00/night and VERY helpful park staff!!! It's my understanding they let you dump for $5.00 and fill your freshwater tank for $2.00 even if you don't stay here."

What you should know

Train noise impacts several campgrounds: LA RV Resort at Action Camp experiences regular train disruptions. One visitor notes, "There's about 4 trains a night that will come by with horns blowing. Also, there's no functional WiFi or Cell service, or CATV. So make sure you have some books, cards, movies, whatever."

Bathroom availability varies: Some RV parks maintain limited bathroom access hours. At Mountain Valley RV Park, "bathrooms are locked between 10 pm and 7:30 am (not good for those of us with early mornings)."

Fairground camping basics: Antelope Valley Fairgrounds provides basic accommodations in Lancaster. "This is essentially one big parking lot behind a fence (though there are also spots outside the fence as well). Clean showers and bathrooms. Full RV hook-ups. It's absolutely nothing to write home about and really has no personality, trees, or privacy."

Tips for camping with families

Pool availability for summer visits: Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon offers recreational amenities for children. "They had a pool and basketball court and there are lots of trees so that's good. Full hook ups were available to us no problems with that," notes one family camper who stayed two nights.

Weekend activity planning: Family programming is available at select locations. A reviewer at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon shared: "The only good thing was the Saturday activities. However if you have older kids forget it! The activities are for ages 5-7 maybe! They did have a movie night the last night we were there."

Wildlife viewing opportunities: The region offers chances to observe desert wildlife. One camper at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon observed: "From my favorite the Jet black Ravens, rabbits, coyotes, and interesting botany there are plenty of creatures to aww and be thankful for. Gets dusty, and a bit hot sometimes."

Tips from RVers

Sizing considerations for parks: Malibu Beach RV Park has space limitations for larger rigs, with pull-through sites primarily accommodating smaller vehicles. Recent improvements have been made, with one RVer noting: "We enjoyed our one night stay we had a great spot overlooking the bay. The owners have a great plan and it looks like they are achieving their goal!"

Accessibility features: Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon provides handicap-accessible facilities. "This is one of the best handicap accessible shower and restroom areas we've seen. The larger pool had a roll in area but I do not know if they had a wheelchair that would allow you to actually use it or if you needed your own."

Tent camping limitations: Despite being called RV parks, some locations accommodate tent camping with varying restrictions. At Spaceport RV Park, tent sites are available but minimal. An overnight visitor noted, "It is no longer $20, rather $25 now per night. But still worth it. I called ahead but she said no worries. I got to the park after the office was closed but there are payment envelopes."
