According to a camper, "There are several river access spots throughout the campground. There are floating outfitters in the area that will drive you up river to float back down toward the campground."
Cave exploration: The Buffalo Point area features interesting cave formations to explore during your stay. One visitor noted, "We found a cool cave at the far right end of the rock beach." Another mentioned exploring Bear Cave: "It was nice with lots of exploring around the cave."
Wildlife viewing: The White River area provides excellent wildlife watching opportunities. At Blue Heron Campground, one visitor shared, "We had a riverfront spot and really just came to chill not fish but it's a fishing location. White river is trout paradise so if you're an angler this is where it's at."

A camper at Buffalo Point reported, "The water was absolutely beautiful Thursday-Saturday, but the area got a lot of rain Saturday starting around 2 am... By 8 pm Saturday, the water at the beach area was completely brown and we could tell the water was up a LOT."
Limited services: Many areas near Witts Springs have minimal amenities. A visitor at Macks Pines noted, "Dry county with very few places to buy any food or groceries outside of an hour drive."
Cabin reservation timing: Cabins book quickly during peak seasons. A visitor to Petit Jean State Park advised, "A loop is full hookup while B-D have electricity & water only... 'Stays booked 93% of the year' -Park Office. It's really hard to get a reservation if you don't book at least a year out in A loop."
