Best Cabin Camping near Blythe, CA

Several riverside resorts near Blythe, California provide furnished cabin rentals with varying amenities. Arizona Oasis RV Resort offers basic cabin accommodations with beds and air conditioning, plus shared bathroom facilities. The Cove RV Resort features cabin options with access to a spotless pool, game room, and waterfront locations. River Sands RV Resort provides tiny homes for rent alongside clean bathhouse facilities and free WiFi. According to one visitor at Arizona Oasis, "Mini houses to rent which we stayed in and they are perfect for a few couples and small children." Most cabins include air conditioning, essential for comfort during summer months when temperatures regularly exceed 100°F.

Rustic cabins and mini houses accommodate different group sizes, from solo travelers to families. Emerald Cove Resort offers cottages as an alternative for those without RVs or for hosting extra visitors, though this location requires a membership or guest invitation. USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake provides park models and cabins exclusively for military personnel (active duty or retired). Pet policies vary by location, with most resorts being pet-friendly but enforcing leash rules. One guest noted, "Cabin rentals which are basic, beds and air with community shared showers and bathrooms." Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during winter months when snowbirds fill many facilities.

Most cabin accommodations provide beds with basic furniture but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, and towels. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between properties, from minimal setups with microwaves to more complete arrangements with refrigerators and stovetops. The Colorado River location means many visitors prioritize outdoor activities over indoor cooking. On-site stores at several resorts stock essential items, though selection is often limited. Blythe offers more comprehensive shopping options approximately 5-10 minutes from most riverside accommodations. During summer months, cooling systems become critical, as temperatures regularly reach extreme levels with minimal natural shade available at most properties.

    Arizona Oasis RV Resort

    They have it all

From rv with full hooks ups, cabin rentals which are basic, beds and air with community shared showers and bathrooms. Mini houses to rent which we stayed in and they are perfect for a few couples and small Children. Nice pool only problem is it’s a little to warm with it being so hot. The hot tub, kid pool and pool were all the exact same temp, water front access to the river and boat launch bring a pop up because barely any shade if you plan to play on the shore Great place for sure! Covered rv parking for an additional fee as well as playground for children and dog run for your fur babies.

    Arizona Oasis RV Resort

    Right on the Colorado River

Easy in and out off the 10 freeway, large rv friendly, river spots back up to a grassy area on the river, cabin and RV rentals available, laundry room, clean facilities and friendly staff. Right on the California/ AZ border, close to Blythe for groceries and restaurants. Great place for off road vehicles since you can drive to the desert trails in about 2 minutes and ride for hours. All sites are full hook up, streets are gravel, sites have a cement pad and the rest is gravel and can accommodate even the longest set ups.

    River Sands RV Resort

    A brand new desert oasis!*

Huge resort with spacious spots and full hook up’s. Mostly flat with paved roads everywhere you will take your rv/camper on your visit. Close and easy access to Colorado River for swimming, boating, seadoos and off-leash dog walking/playing. Exceptional clubhouse with a gym and enough room to stretch out, remote work, or to catch a game with fam and friends on their big flat screen tv. Firepit and golf cart rentals plus smores kits and doggie bags with a bandana, dog toy and treats are also available. Super pet and kid friendly with play systems and a 2000sqft dog park. The store could use more ‘store’ items but there is a family dollar directly across the street.

They also have tiny homes for rent and I think the longest rv spot is almost 72-80’ long.

Clean bathhouse and laundry facilities. Free WiFi. So much to mention and I know I’m missing something but I hope i helped.

Don’t forget to ask Lou if you can purchase the wakeboard in the office. And tell them you heard about the first flight discount for 20% off.

*The resort is really big. About a half mile long or more. If you have trouble doing long walks or walking in general then renting a golf cart is highly recommended.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Away from everything

It is an easy thirty or forty minutes to a gas station so fill up when you see the Circle K and Chevron next to each other if coming from Yuma.  If coming from the north Quartzsite is probably your last chance for gas.  It is in the middle of nothing and nowhere, a little oasis with little to no cellphone signal.  The roads are currently undergoing heavy upgrading so be ready for long travel times and keep an eye out for the wildlife at night.  It was easily over 100F so the water feels nice.  They are currently waiting on their own motorized equipment but until it is ready you can still rent paddle boards and the like to go on the water.

As noted in other reviews the sites are water and electric only with no dumpsite.  The sites are almost on top of one another as well.  We had enough room to use our picnic table between our camper and the slide out of the fifth wheel next to us.  The camper on our other side was in a similar situation.  The sites back right up to the water.  If you are looking to lose yourself for a few days, this is the place.  The store packs the basics to include ice.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Beautiful and remote

Once you leave I-8 it’s about 35-55 minutes back to major services. I hear Fischer’s Landing has a new convenience store. The office has beer, soft drinks and a few choices of hard stuff. The RV pads are cement and level. Our rig is 24 feet and we fit very well on the pad. This is a military only facility so you must be either active duty or retired to utilize. The description says “full hookup” but alas, it is only electric and water. The electric service is only 50 amp (I noted that in a prior review, thank you for the warning). An 50 to 30 adapter is a good thing to have and it worked flawless. The water pressure is very adequate. I would definitely make this a come back to place. The park staff were extremely helpful. When we left, we turn right at the access road to Fischer’s Landing. The dump station is in the screen building with all the golf carts, this is to the left of the store. The screen door is unlocked. You will find the key for the dump station padlock hanging by a 2” piece of pvc pipe. There is a lock box next to it. The cost is $5.00 to dump. It’s on the Pooh honor system, which I found very cool. There is also attached non potable water hose for tank flush out. A bit inconvenient if staying a month but a day or two was no problem.

    The Cove RV Resort

    Amazing campsite

Probably one of the best spots I’ve been to. We camped on the waterfront sites right above the beach and it was perfect. We had groups in F3, F4 and F5. The spots are a bit tight but once we found out the parking in the front (15 steps away) was free to park in the whole time we moved our truck and had plenty of room. The beach was great and the boat launch is right next to it. The store, game room (pool table, ping pong table, arcade games) and pool were awesome and really nice! Workers were great and kind. Free wifi and it worked great. Laundry mat, showers, bathrooms all in good condition. Not one complaint and cannot wait to be back.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Great location, questionable staff

Quiet, clean, remote little military family camp on Lake Martinez with concrete RV sites and full hook ups, 50 amp electric only, but they have a loaner 30 amp adapter if they can find it. Park models and cabins available for those who do not tent camp or RV. Various types of water craft available for rent and limited docking for your own boat.

Easy to get camp site reservations in Summer. Have not tried here in winter as the place fills up with military retirees/ snow birds.

Staff on the other hand is mentally lost at best. Seems like they don’t really know what’s what most of the time ( refer back to the 50/30 amp adaptor that they usually can’t find as their storage location is on the floor beside the desk). The store is adequately stocked with alcohol, USMC souvenirs, but very lacking the things campers need most often, ie toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap etc. they don’t even sell popcorn, how can one camp without popcorn.

Despite the “lost in space” staff and the “non” mercantile in a remote place, I give this place 4 stars as it is quiet, inexpensive and a great little spot away from the city.

    Emerald Cove Resort

Poorly managed staff and unruly guests

I booked our first trip in our new rv to Emerald Cove for 4th of July. We were sent to the very last space far left at the edge of the campground. The furthest away from bathrooms, showers, store, snack bar, pool, beach, everything! The beachfront spaces were all occupied. But so was the walkways to the water! The spaces reserved as access for all campers to get to the water were filled with cars, tents, people, even though these were clearly marked as walk ways and no parking or any other was allowed. We couldn't even get to the water! Staff did not enforce fair access. Worse, the next camper close to us had a 4 seat razor. Since there was a few spaces between us that were vacant they decided to use the area as a raceway and drove their off road razor vehicle whipping around our camp kicking up dust, dirt and rocks that even flew into us hitting us. I first approached the other campers and asked them nicely to stop driving their OFV wicked fast around us that we were being struck by rocks. They didn't stop. I reached out to the staff who did nothing. We were so unsafe with the vehicle driving around us doing broadies, that we packed up and left within the first 24 hours. We had a 4 day reservation. I phoned the office to let them we had just left and why...they couldn't care less. We will never return here.

    Emerald Cove Resort

    We loved Emerald Cove Resort

We absolutely loved the Emerald Cove resort. They have roomy RV pull-through spots. A short walk from the Colorado River for all your water activities. The staff was helpful. There are some wild burros that stroll around at night and we found them dumping on our mat in the morning. Make sure to block your area off with chairs so they don't poop on your stuff. It can get hot. Their wifi was not bad when Verizon devices weren't keeping up. Miniature golf, arcade, poker room, darts, and overall an awesome site. It is a membership site, but if you check out their presentation you get hooked up.

Guide to Blythe

Camping cabins near Blythe, California are situated along the Colorado River where summer temperatures frequently reach 115-120°F. The area sits at approximately 270 feet above sea level in the Sonoran Desert. Winter visitors find mild temperatures averaging 65-75°F during the day, making this region particularly popular among seasonal travelers from November through March.

What to do

River access activities: At Emerald Cove Resort, water activities dominate recreation options. "They have tons of spots for RV's but they also have cottages you can rent if you don't have an RV or have extra people visiting with you. It's hot in the summer but the river is right there to jump in and stay cool," shares Michelle Z.

Campground recreation amenities: The Big River RV Park offers convenient water access. Michael D. notes it's a "great place" that's "clean and close to water." Many riverside cabin accommodations include organized activities, especially during winter months when seasonal guests participate in community events.

Off-road adventures: Cabin campers can access desert trails within minutes. "Great place for off road vehicles since you can drive to the desert trails in about 2 minutes and ride for hours," explains Dawn F. about Arizona Oasis. The flat desert terrain surrounding Blythe provides extensive off-road opportunities with minimal restrictions.

What campers like

Waterfront cabin options: The Cove RV Resort offers prime waterfront accommodation. Chelsea B. explains, "We camped on the waterfront sites right above the beach and it was perfect. We had groups in F3, F4 and F5... The beach was great and the boat launch is right next to it."

Community facilities: Many travelers appreciate the social aspects of cabin camping. At Emerald Cove, Gustavo C. reports, "There are some wild burros that stroll around at night... Miniature golf, arcade, poker room, darts, and overall an awesome site." These amenities create opportunities for interaction during extended stays.

Clean accommodations: River Sands RV Resort maintains high standards for their rental properties. Dina S. describes it as "A brand new desert oasis!" noting "Clean bathhouse and laundry facilities. Free WiFi." Cabin renters consistently mention facility cleanliness as a priority when choosing accommodations in this region.

What you should know

Military-only accommodations: USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake offers exclusive facilities. "This is a military only facility so you must be either active duty or retired to utilize," explains Michael C. The resort provides park models and cabins with limited amenities but direct lake access.

Services availability: Limited shopping options exist near most cabin accommodations. Michael C. advises, "Once you leave I-8 it's about 35-55 minutes back to major services. I hear Fischer's Landing has a new convenience store." Most cabin guests should stock up on supplies in Blythe before arriving at riverside locations.

Heat management: Cabins with cooling systems are essential during summer months. "It was easily over 100F so the water feels nice," notes Trevor H. about Martinez Lake facilities. Without proper cooling, cabin stays between May and September can become uncomfortable due to extreme temperatures.

Membership requirements: Some premium facilities restrict access. Ed Gonsalves G. explains Emerald Cove "is a membership park, you get 3 free nights stay but have to attend a 90 minute sales presentation." Potential visitors should verify reservation requirements before planning cabin stays.

Tips for camping with families

Pool alternatives: When river currents are strong, resort pools provide safer swimming options. At Gateway Ranch RV Resort, Brad P. notes it's a "Nice campground. Sites are good size. Clean area." Many resorts maintain pools specifically for families with young children who might find river swimming challenging.

Bug preparation: Evening insects can impact outdoor activities. David T. warns at Arizona Oasis, "the mosquitoes were TERRIBLE as soon as the sun began to set. Kids had so many bites from the first night we did not enjoy going out once the sun began setting." Families should pack insect repellent for evening comfort.

Game room access: During extreme heat, indoor recreation provides essential relief. Chelsea B. describes The Cove's amenities: "The store, game room (pool table, ping pong table, arcade games) and pool were awesome and really nice!" These indoor spaces allow family entertainment regardless of outdoor temperatures.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: For cabin renters with vehicles, parking location matters. Chelsea B. advises at The Cove, "The spots are a bit tight but once we found out the parking in the front (15 steps away) was free to park in the whole time we moved our truck and had plenty of room."

Seasonal considerations: Winter visits offer dramatically different experiences. Rich J. from Arizona Oasis reports, "Clean. Quiet. Large, separated FHU spaces. Friendly staff. Nightly activities, pool, beach, river, play area." Winter occupancy increases significantly, requiring advance reservations sometimes months ahead.

Rental flexibility options: Many RV parks offer different cabin styles. According to Brad P., Gateway Ranch is a "Nice campground. Sites are good size." Most cabin rentals near Blythe require minimum stays ranging from 2-7 nights depending on season and location.
