We parked our RV out on one of the campground fingers and had water on 3 sides of us. Swimming was available just adjacent to our side. Lots of kayakers making river runs from the other side of the dam. Another Corps of Engineers gem!
All sites seem to have 20/30/50 amp electrical options.
We hiked the Kevin R Brown trail which is the only one you can access from the campground.

After reading previous review about the camp hosts, I think they have changed. They still have plumbing issues and the showers are still non-functional, but we brought our own anyway.
Although we are wondering if the host is changing the pricing on his own. We have a senior pass good for 1/2 price camping and recreation.gov lists the site at $30 per night. The host charged us $19. I am not sure if this is something he can do.
We pulled straight in to our site instead of backing in. We like our door to face the picnic table and campfire! Good thing we have a long electrical cable.
Nice private camping areas more well suited to tents than RV. Most of the sites are very out of level.
As far as cell signals, we have either AT&T and Sprint/TMobile onboard. There is no Sprint connectivity but AT&T was a full 5G signal.
AT&T Speedtest 42.3 Mbps down, 20.5 Mbps up.
Rated this 5-stars for price, availability, cleanliness and ambiance. Pulled in on 6/1 with our 30ft RV and camp was empty with 15-sites to choose from for a quick overnight stop (it is approx 5-miles off I-90, easily accessible, follow Waze). There are no hook-ups for public, despite listing, and a flat $10/night fee per site. Most sites are fairly level and on short grass, two are in a pull up loop for RV (though you could back into many others). Pit toilets, water access, park area for kids, covered group picnic area, and no trash collection (no problem). Host Roger was very nice, keeps place up and shared its history. This camp is close to being 'off the grid' but has cell signal reach. Very nice, quiet night in non-commercial forested area, camping the way I remember it!
Nice, clean, well maintained private park. My downsides, sites very close together and pricey at $50/night for a one-night stop. Much prefer state/national parks.
Stopped here for one night on way to Black Hills, Mt Rushmore, because it was so close and outside crowd zoneā¦ Camping is $16/night, $8 senior pass. Beautiful little area and sites are spread out. Basic amenities of water spigots and outhouses. No elec or dump. Came in with 30ft MH-RV late afternoon on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and snagged a FCFS spot that was available. So happy. Some leveling with blocks, not perfect but good enough. Many RVs and trailers here, nice sites.
We needed a quiet place to get off the road, stop for the night to sleep. This basic free campground didnāt have any sites proper available on the holiday weekend, but we did find a quiet, fairly level spot to park. City park accepts donations and ppl were friendly and quiet at night.
We stopped at Unity Lake SPCG after pulling off I84 onto 26W, OR. The drive is spectacular and beautiful, the SP serene! CG was very clean, not crowded and mostly empty. Has paved sites, room between neighbors, elec hookup and water for our RV, and thereās a dump station, A full cell signal too. As close to being off the grid as one can be, (without actually being off). Will be back! Be sure to gas up beforehand, no services on this scenic drive.
We stayed in Mule 20. The site was perfectly level. Got a good nights sleep and breakfast.
This campground is very clean and good for all sized units. My unit is a 30' so I couldnt use the nearby campgrounds. We arrived without a reservation and there were still plenty of sites available.
Staff was great and the sites were clean. Host says its very popular with many people.
