Nice state park with lots to do

We went to High Cliff over the 4th of July, so it was quite busy.

We booked sites 22 and 23 which are a double site. Pretty good space, we were able to fit 4 tents and a sleeping hammock. There is overflow parking directly across from the site. There is a main hiking trail behind the sites,…

Surprised by how much to do

The size of the campsites are inconsistent. I found the  sites in the 200's are the smallest and closest to the lake.   The 300 and 400 series have larger sites with more  gravel and less vegetation close to the sites.   Since  the bugs are huge here that is important.   We stayed in 212 and if I…

So much to do for everyone

No matter what your skill level you can find a trail here from easy to challenging to hike or bike.  There is a beach, a marina, Lake Winnebago, horse trails, hiking, biking and pet beach and picnic area.  The park is very clean and pretty.  There is a playground, several vault toilet areas spread…

Favorite camping spot

I love this campsite. The sites are secluded from one another so you gets lots of privacy. It’s only a short walk to Lake Michigan and 6 miles of beach to wander. There is a designated swimming beach that sells concessions and rents bicycles but you can swim anywhere. Has a dog beach. Bathrooms are…

Well kept campsites

Mauthe Lake-Kettle Moraine is a joy for campers. Located right on Mauthe Lake the campsites are separated by lush trees and bushes. Make sure to pick the right campsite, tho.

Some of the campsites seems very shallow but if you looked closer they have a path or another site to put a tent.

Great place but poor pet accommodations

Park campground is well kept as well as the facilities. Beach is nice but the area they claim is for people with pets is a long walk and the beach no longer exists as the lake has washed it away. Pet beach is just really slippery rock which is very dangerous for the pet owners and pets alike. They…

O.M.G.... !!!

This place is BIZARRE. Junk, moldy RV's, a parked garbage truck, un-cut grass and branches/twigs, everywhere. Not to mention un-emptied 'shed' toilets, un-emptied trash & recycle bins, a playground over-run by weeds, a sorely ignored mini-golf course, a desperate looking "pavilion", potholes…

Great sites right on lake Winnebago

Sites within 20 feet of the lake make for beautiful sunsets! Clean park! Several trails. Saw several deer. Also has a boat launch.

Clean and nice

Great clean camping. Very nice walking trails. They have a dog swimming area. Though swimming is not great after June/July when the algae gets bad. Great place overall!

Top Notch Remote Sites

I’ve hiked into the Ice Age Trail/Kayak sites for three summers in a row now, and I’ve been pleased each time. The hike is roughly 1 mile from the lots, and the sites are beautifully placed in dunes right on Lake Michigan. There are pit toilets near the sites. These sites offer some of the best…

Fun for hiking

Really cool cliffs to climb/ hike. There is also a lime kiln to hike to and see. There are two playgrounds for the kids as well. Beautiful views of Lake Winnebago from high points of the hike
